Gameplay-wise this isn't really that different from GTA III, but overall this game is so much better imo. The fact it has a map screen automatically makes it better, but in general I just like the map, setting, and story more, and a kickass soundtrack (probably my favorite of the trilogy, we all know Japanese Boy is a banger) and great leading performance from Ray Liotta don't hurt either.

This review contains spoilers

If I had a nickel for every time I've seen a grape villain in a piece of media, I'd have two nickels.

I started writing this yesterday while the credits are scrolling only to find out I wasn't actually finished with the game yet.

Pretty good, I mean it's clearly a game for kids but it's good for what it is. I liked the different powers you can use with Peach, my favorites would probably be Detective Peach, Mermaid Peach (I think that's mostly for the music), and Kung Fu Peach. With all the different abilities you use it's kinda like a Kirby game but you play as Peach and you don't inhale your enemies.

It isn't very challenging (obviously as it's a kids game) but some of the rehearsal challenges can get annoying. Also the final boss's final form is easier than it's first form, which I found kinda funny.

It's also annoying to 100%, as there's no "restart from checkpoint" option which would make things less repetitive because you only have the option to restart from the beginning which gets old fast if you missed a collectable. The ending of the game isn't truly the end either, as after the end you have to do the boss challenges, which is fine, but I'm not a fan of is also having to play through the game again to find the ninjas in every level which gets boring, and the only reward you get for that is a dress.

If you combine the Swordfighter Peach and the Kung Fu Peach, you could get a Kill Bill game with Peach, now that would go hard as fuck. I mean they used the Kill Bill music in the Mario movie last year so that seems like the next logical step.

Overall it's pretty good, would be nice to have more Peach centered games, maybe I should play Super Princess Peach one day. Whatever, back to Vice City now.

Unlike the first two, I actually bothered to finish this one. This is also my first time beating a GTA 100%. This was also my first GTA.

GTA III is a good game but it suffers from being the first 3D entry in the series, with it's biggest shortcomings being the lack of a map screen and a lack of camera controls. This next issue mostly affects during rampages but the sniper rifle aiming controls like shit on PS2, the worst example of this is in the Columbian headshot rampage.

As I said, it's a good game, the story and actual missions are quite fun, but unfortunately it's just dragged down by those other stuff, and whenever I'm in the mood for some classic GTA, I'll usually play either Vice City or San Andreas. However, I will always respect it for being an extremely important game because the open world genre today owes itself to this one.

The camera is improved and the controls are slightly better than the first but it still controls like ass and I didn't really find myself motivated to continue with it but at least I got further in than GTA 1 but still not that far. On the bright side, the graphics are better and the radio still has that GTA charm to it.

I tried with this but I gave up only four missions in because these are some of the worst controls and camera I've ever dealt with. The lack of an in-game map makes it even worse too. I can see why they made the jump to 3D just two games after this. Literally the only reason to play this is if you're a GTA completist or you're interested in how this series started. If I cared about how the rest of the game goes I'll just look up a walkthrough on YouTube.

This has also killed my interest in playing the two London packs which just look like even more of the same anyway.

Finally I can cross Mother 1 and 3 off my video game bucket list. I do prefer the gameplay to Earthbound, but I think I like that game's story more. I like that the run button from Mother 1 is back (like fr why'd they get rid of that?)

We'll see how it stands whenever I play it again, whenever that may be. Sad that I don't have anymore Mother to play.

Long, long overdue replay.

The Switch isn't listed on the platform tab for some reason even though it is for Mother 1.

The ad for Mother 1 said "no crying until the end" but I think that applies here as well.

It is kind of a retelling of Mother but better in every way except no run button.

However, with the L button, and if you're playing with one joycon, you can play the game with one hand and eat pizza in the other and that's the best thing about this game.

Not my favorite RPG but easily one of them. Hopefully it won't be almost five and a half years before I play it again.

Played Earthbound about five and a half years ago and loved it but never played this. It's decent but it's pretty grindy early on and the random encounters can be annoying as hell, but it does have that Earthbound charm and I love the music and the Peanuts-esque visuals, but the game overall does feel like a prototype of what's to come, but I do think I would play it again.

No better way to spend a sick day than by playing this in its entirety.

Decent, really makes me feel like I have the exaggerated swagger of a black teen.

I enjoyed the main game well enough but I didn't care for this much, felt mostly just boring, repetitive and more of the same. I didn't think the story was really interesting enough to justify its existence and the stuff with Black Cat and Yuri I found really underwhelming. I understand why people don't like the Screwball challenges but I found them to be more fun than the crimes or bases, but if you cut Screwball out it wouldn't really change anything.

Least I only paid $10 for it as opposed to $30.

I was going to give this a 7 but the Final Final level killed my interest in playing this again for a long time and I genuinely considered giving up and not finishing the game.

I had to do that shit twice because I didn't get the top of the flagpole the first time. That shit was straight up impossible without Nabbit.

I've loved Mario 64 ever since I first played it but I always thought it could be improved by giving Mario a shotgun. Now I just want somebody to make Battle for Bikini Bottom with shotguns.

The PS2 version is a different entry than this for some reason.

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the release of the video game that got me into video games. The game isn't perfect but I can't really bring myself to give it less than five stars. I do think the game holds up, the gameplay isn't the most amazing thing ever, but it has some really good charm, humor, and honestly one of the best atmospheres in a Batman game.

We can all agree that the vehicle levels are the weakest, and fuck the slide minikit in Arctic World.

The game's so good that there's now a real life Arkham Asylum, it's the r/BatmanArkham subreddit.

I think it still holds up. It's not 100% perfect for me but I'll get to that later.

First things first this has my favorite atmosphere of any of the games, it makes you feel claustrophobic and really makes you feel trapped on the island. Walking through empty areas you've completed is such an eerie feeling. This is probably the closest we're gonna get to a Batman horror game. It's definitely inspired by Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, thought I think that comic had more of a creepier feeling to it, likely because of Dave McKean's artwork. I should read that book again.

I like the story as well, short and simple, but definitely short, like surprisingly short. I've played through the story mode before and never realized how short the story mode is, I was able to beat it in just a couple days. Honestly the challenge mode took longer.

I really like the gameplay too, as everyone says, it makes you feel like Batman. It is a lot of fun pounding the shit out of the same four guys until Batman punches the air or gets punched and you lose your combo. Also love his collection of gadgets they give you to progress the story or solve puzzles, my favorites being the batclaw and the explosive gel.

You can't talk about Arkham without bringing up the Riddler challenges. I do like that there aren't like 400 of them like I'm future games. Some of the puzzles were a little challenging but most of them are just "walk up and grab trophy". I love listening to the Riddler taunting Batman though.

Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill just keep proving why they are so great as Batman and the Joker.

Now I want to get into my issues with the game. A small one I'll start with is the texture pop-in. Every time you enter a room it takes a couple seconds for the textures to load correctly. Apparently that seems to be a thing with Unreal Engine 3.

The bosses, I think everyone can agree on this, are definitely some of the weakest parts of the the. The titan bosses are the same thing, Poison Ivy is whatever, but the final boss, Titan Joker, is a very weak final boss. I don't mind Joker injecting himself with the Titan formula (except the mohawk, seriously wtf) but they just wasted it. It could've been a really good boss but no all you do to defeat him is pull him down with the batclaw and punch him a few times and repeat. And you don't even do that most of the time, you just fight the same clones while he stands back. I know Joker sitting back and letting the goons do the work is in character for him but that doesn't make for a fun boss fight. Why would Rocksteady do that? Are they stupid?

There's also the challenge mode. In general I don't mind the challenge mode and I can see the appeal, what I'm not a fan of is having to do it to achieve 100% completion. If you complete the story for the first time and see that you have only 88% and are confused, the rest is in the challenge mode. This actually took me longer to do than the story but I was able to finish it. Whoever designed Shock and Awe is my mortal nemesis. Or maybe I just suck.

At least the DLC challenges aren't necessary for 100%, I actually got those done rather quickly. And if you have the PS3 version like I do, you can play as the Joker in his own challenge maps and that's why the PS3 version is the best. Honestly I had more fun playing Joker's challenges than Batman's.

I'm not really sure how to end this so I'm just gonna go. grapple hooks away
