DEMO
Can't tell much with the limited characters. Feels the same as TEKKEN 7. Won't cop.

On HITMAN now.
These waypoints are absolutely carrying me, lol.

Somehow I completed the first mission but it didn't register the final kill, so I went back and just gave up on stealth. I would've went insane otherwise.

Fun cutscenes too. Plot will probably go over my head, who knows.

Will drop once I get the skin, ofc

Took 2 and a half hours, but finally got to gold. The ranking here is absolute garbage lol

I don't know if it's just me but no matter the settings my accuracy just feels awful. Isn't as noticeable early on but in the note spam, it really ruins my rhythm.

Very boring also, ColdComfort's review is on point.

A bit complicated but seems cool so far
Will probably main juri
Needed a refresher on what makes a GOOD console rhythm game after playing the mess that is Fortnite Festival

Demo thoughts:
Dashing, sliding, grappling and slashing all are pretty smooth and are fun to get the hang off. A little complicated on controller, but that's OK.
Don't really care about the story, seems a little bleh.
Music and atmosphere are really bland, very generic cyberpunk stuff I guess.

Not sure if I would buy this just for the gameplay. Eh.

Up to Sunrise Palace 3.

Once again, + for the bosses, but - for the story. They brought back some older bosses but they lose a lot of their fighting appeal with the nerfs. I expected their patterns to be buffed since Kirin is so much stronger than GV from GV2, but whatever. Also Kirin, agreeing with the bosses, calls GV a bastard in the past games and I don't understand where they're getting those opinions from? GV is no better in this game than the others. There's no moral high ground here. I don't know, the character changes are very off putting.

I think the ice priestess is my favorite boss thus far.

😿 ...

Final boss was definitely highlight of the game. Easier than the rest of it, but still great sequences. Loved berserk GV. Disappointed by the boss music though.

Hopefully this is the bad ending.

TRUE ENDING COMPLETED

Feel good ending, hopefully the next game has GV as a lead now :)
Still don't like all the character modifications, but whatever, I'm hopeful for GV4

Have thought a bit more on this, and all the story nonsense really brings the rating down again. It's such a downgrade from the genuine care they seemed to put in gv2, and the cope that "no one plays for the story" is really dumb to me when the standards were set in the previous entry. This is a followup, not a spinoff. And if the game expects you to play the levels twice to get the endings, obviously they should actually matter. But yeah, I don't like the direction of the story. I'll still check out the next game, of course, but I don't expect it to be any better than GV2.

Thoughts thus far:
- Gameplay seems pretty complex, but the self-adjusting difficulty is really useful for making it fun to play
- Even in game form, I still can't stand 9 innings
- way less arcadey than I'm used to, but not too far that everything is super obtuse. General batting and pitching are focused enough where experimenting isn't limited by choice paralysis.
- may not be as adcluttered as 2K, can't tell yet because I played while the game was updating

Overall, not a bad impression! My gripes with this is mostly just due to my impatientness when it comes to baseball, but I feel like I'll still enjoy this when I feel like playing. Glad I got this on super sale though, I would've felt defeated if I paid 60 (or 70 😮‍💨) dollars

lots of frame dropping, but seems cool

Really nice to see a new Mario game with an interesting artstyle.
Gameplay is way easier than I expected though. Crazy how what the game calls 3 star difficulty plays the exact same as a 1 star. Elephant power up was underwhelming too.

Probably won't buy.

thoughts:
- love the art and character design (rolua!! :D), it's very striking and expressive
- cool personalities too; arent trope-y or overly edgy
- the general robot vs. humanity storyline might be interesting, but I couldnt tell how deep it wants to go. The intro kinda did kinda didn't hook me but everything else makes me think this is going to be a pretty cool game regardless.
- the combat felt like there was some depth, but my main gripe is that the dodging (both dashing and the designated button) felt a little sluggish, I guess? Also idk if the gameplay is spammy and/or if that's just a given for hack n slash games
- the tea party segments are an interesting change of pace, it reminds me of . . . Persona5 . . .
- Sakuzyo is finally in a (non-rhythm) video game!!

Will probably get this on sale when I can
