god of war 2018 is trash and not a true god of war game
you shouldnt play it

i have been a long time fan of the series
and the 2018 remake of the game is a disgusting cash grab
it is another generic walking simulator with decent graphics
red dead redemption looked better

assrtreues is completely annoying and unnecessary to the plot

kratos has been nerfed even though he single handedly killed a giant titan in gow 3

this game is literally as bad as the first game
maybe it’s a bit better since the graphics and the technical aspects have higher standards

i still give it a 1/5 just as the first game cuz this was the chance to finally do a dp that is actually good

that’s the best classic 2d metroid game of all time if not the best 2d metroidvania of all time

great plot twists
amazing mechanics and controls
amazing bosses and tons of enemy variation
good atmospheric soundtrack without reusing half of past metroid games
a setting and scenery that’s eerie as hell and the stress and danger caused by the emmis makes it even more effective
backgrounds are extremely detailed, they foreshadow some bosses, show how animals live and react to other animals or bosses and the background can give you hints
the tutorials (through text and level design) are superb this time and teach you all the things even the hidden mechanics like the charge jump (is it called like that? you hold the charge beam and do a flip by jumping, it’s like a beta screw attack)

some people might say the emmis are repetitive in how you defeat them but i never considered them as “bosses” but more like moving / living hazards and getting finally rid of them feels way too satisfying cause you’re free to explore an area without the stress they cause by hunting you

easily full score, best 2d metroid, maybe best 2d metroidvania

what an experience

i do not think i have ever played a game this boring

while yes it does look beautiful but it is all so static and you cannot even interact with this beautifully decorated world it is just there

the gameplay is dull and the combat does not evolve from its way too simple mechanics

a worthless game don’t waste your money

this game is a flop in terms of sales and rightly so because i haven’t touched a game with such a bad writing for a long time

see i’m all in for over the top things or even style over substance be it yakuza jojo ttgl persona and even the first twewy

neo twewy on the other hand flushed everything that made the first game special down the toilet

i have never witnessed a story being this horribly written
when the characters said they never heard of a specific clothing brand while wearing said brand i was shaking my head
and when they openly talked about their weaknesses in front of their enemy i was on the verge dropping it
the music is as shallow as the writing too and the style does not give me twewy vibe at all
and u cannot even control the camera

combat was pretty good though so 2/5

rating this as a "remaster"
it’s way too expensive for what it is: a lazy port that doesn’t deserve to be called remaster that still has compressed ost and features paid dlc

don’t buy it unless it’s the absolute only way to play this game. if you have a ps3 then you can get this for 10 bucks i guess. if you have a pc then you know the other option.

this isn’t a remaster. it’s a lazy port. even the mario 3d collection was a better offering than this right here.
