Overstays it's welcome a little bit, but overall a decent charming game.

Fuck polterkitty, though.

Lacks variety and not very fun after first 3-4 hours. One of my biggest let downs for the switch.

A fun game, that makes me miss the first. The elevator and sectioned out levels are less fun than having the mansion as an overworld. The game feels like it often doesn't respect your time (thanks ghost kitty) and is overall just too long leading to dragging green feet.

the single most tense gaming experience i've had interpersonally. beat this with an ex, and it confirmed that the relationship indeed would not work. whoops

There's a moment where you watch Mario jump around and do cool flips, while you are forced to find a ladder to slowly reach where he is. Its a game that captures what its like to be Luigi. You've spent 15-20 hours fighting and struggling against these threats and Mario casually leaps over your puzzles. Its not out of malice. Mario just doesn't understand that you aren't as good as him. You'll always be the underdog. The second banana. The Luigi.

It could stand to be five hours shorter.

Did the economies of these games change, or did I? When I played the first Luigi's Mansion, every coin and fluttering dollar I found felt satisfying, like a nibble of some tasty meal. Now it feels meaningless, which makes the core loop of the game, snuffling and sucking at every corner of every room, feel just a bit more hollow. Still enjoyable, but with an undeniable sense of going through the motions.

I hope Daisy pegged him after this

Another super solid 2D Mario platformer with a different focus on exploration as a means of collecting treasure, and it stars Wario, and that honestly gives it a leg up on the already great Mario Land 2.

Absolute peak of the series. The perfect culmination of years of iterative design in the series, the perfect switch from 2d to 3d. The way it brings the story to the forefront makes me so, so happy as a long time, hardcore fan. Everything about this game makes me so excited for the future of the series. Also, god, that final boss, GOD. Perfect mechanically, musically, narratively, and they've got the sickest design in the world.

I can't judge this game on the merits of being "Kirby's first 3D outing", as it's a great disservice to Kirby's Blowout Blast, a vital component of the series' history that deserves no slander. That being said, I'm willing to begrudgingly forgive those who do because, I mean... take a look at Blowout Blast, and then at Forgotten Land.... practically night and day.

For how much work clearly went into preparing for this title, it's remarkable how seamless the transition feels, with all the highlights you'd come to expect from modern 2D Kirby games. In some ways it's even an improvement on the traditional formula, especially with regards to side content. The most I can nitpick at is how the game's pacing is impacted by missing a spare side mission or needing to upgrade certain abilities, but these problems are really softened on repeat playthroughs. Either way, the game is an absolute joy from start to finish, and hopefully it'll serve as a strong foundation for future 3D Kirby titles.

Pros:
+ Kirby's first real jump to 3D!
+ Unique levels that make each world feel special
+ Kirby controls nicely
+ Each copy ability feels different enough so that there's a decent variety in gameplay
+Copy ability upgrades were nice as they added an incentive to collect the coins and stars
+ Mouthful keeps the game interesting, out of all the gimmicks in modern Kirby, this is my second favorite
+ The capsules were good side collectables, adding the gacha machine was nice because I didn't have to play through the same levels over and over to get the missing statues.
+ Waddle Dee hub world is cute
+ Unforgettable OST
+ Eldritch horror final boss as always
+ Big. Rig. Kirby.
+ MORPHO KNIGHT BABY
--------
Cons:
- The amount of abilities in this game is a little underwhelming
- I would have preferred if the game was a little more open
- Needed more mid-bosses
- Meta Knight was sidelined :(

Review: Easily one of the best Kirby games out there. Mouthful mode and ability upgrades make the game standout from other Kirby games. Kirby made a very smooth jump to 3D, I just hope the next game let's us explore a little more. Absolutely loved the bosses and the story presented here, great Kirby game!

A 3D collectathon masterpiece thats rock solid level design and flow combine with a fantastic open-ended structure to make a title every bit as fun now as it was back in the carefree days of my childhood in the 2000s. On top of being a massively impressive technical showcase for what the PS2 could do so early on in its life; it makes the fact that most of the PS5's launch titles were just remasters of PS4 games without much to push the envelope all the more humiliating. Always look forward to replaying it when the chance arises.

I keep replaying this throughout the years. I don't think I will ever stop. It's been my favorite since childhood, probably will be my favorite till I die or something

i feel like this game is almost universally misunderstood due to its comparisons to its predecessor. it's a game that strips a lot of the most frustrating parts of The Dark Descent and boils them down to a more narratively interesting game, but most people left disappointed because it had less jumpscares and felt more like a "walking simulator" to them.

let me tell you something, the best horror games are, in fact, mostly walking simulators! fear of the unknown that is allowed to fester and build dread over time as the rich plot themes bubble over is much more interesting than having to wait for an enemy's patrol route to go in the specific way you need to sneak by over and over and over. having an unreliable narrator who is much more of a character than a near-blank slate everyman is wholly more powerful. also, the music of this game owns. back off haters!!!!

first thing i would do if i was a man locked in the room Is beat my meat violently
