number 1 most important thing about this game: why is Picky Minch the first character shown in the credits when he isn’t relevant to the story after the first 10 minutes? these are the REAL questions

A pretty solid doom game, I had only played a few levels on pc when I was in high school but never got to finish the entire game but I'm so glad I did it now after being able to play the other games in the series and being able to compare it. I thought the map design was strong, a little too industrial environmentally, I really prefer hell settings as opposed to city settings (just a personal preference) and I just felt like there wasn't a ton of that in here. There were a lot of "What the hell do I do?" moments in the first game and I felt like the linear design of this game really helped with that, environmentally hinting at the next steps instead of a 'figure it out' mentality. This game really loved to flock with enemies, especially map "Tricks and Traps" (Map 8) was one of the standout moments of this game, utterly terrifying and making me sweat bullets. One of the maps that I wasn't a fan of was Map 24, nothing combat-wise, just environmentally very frustrating, walking along teeny-tiny walls, trying not to fall into poison pits when you cant even look down to see where you are, I just got super annoyed after awhile and it was one of the maps I had to replay a few times because if you fall there is absolutely no way to get out in certain areas BUT this gave added quick saving (which I didn't notice until embarrassingly late) which helped a whole lot. Overall I think Doom 64 is stronger than this one but I had a great time playing it.

One of the first games I played on my PS3. A little rough gameplay wise. I thought the story was decent enough. The maiden voyage for the Assassins Creed series that set the blueprint for most of the future releases. Thankful that it did well enough to spawn a franchise.

I was so so so excited for this game to come out, but my parents wouldn't take me to the store the day it came out. Luckily my friend from up the road was going to Walmart that day, so I gave him the money to grab it. I waited for an hour or two (it felt like 10 years), and he finally got back, but he said "they didnt have it". Crushing my little 15 year old dreams of playing it that day. In retrospect all it did was build my hype for the game. Luckily the hype was met when I finally got it (the next day lol), and I absolutely adored this game, even if a lot of it did confuse me. At the time I didn't have a full grasp on the Metal Gear story, and still don't really today. But with that said I still thought the characters were amazing and the boss fights were epic especially the Beauty and the Beast unit. I would love for this game to be remade or remastered for current consoles. The only problem now would be finding time to sit down and watch the insanely long cutscenes.

This one was quite refreshing due to the focus on exploration and navigating the world versus combat. I've always thought those parts of Uncharted and Tomb Raider were underrated. I want a game with just traversal and climbing. The story wasn't great and felt rushed in a lot of parts.

It's not my favorite Mario RPG in terms of mechanics or story, but man does this game have the best vibes out of any N64 game.

I’m in a state of mind lately where I can’t seem to find any joy in anything I used to do, except not in like an emotionally distressed way so much as this. With that in mind, I’m going to say that both of these are pretty much just Link’s Awakening, again, twice, with a better color palette, and with that comes all the fun and thrills of okay top-down combat, impenetrable gameplay which necessitates keeping your eyes glued to a guide, and hours of looking for other shit and heart containers you don’t really need just because it’s there. Shelving it because it’s probably fine after all and it’s just me

Insane soundtrack!!! I'm not joking when I say that's at least half the game's merit.

As someone who's never played Getting Over It (this games successor), this was certainly something. A shitpost that goes a bit too hard. However I found it a bit too annoying to continue with. Do I think I'm better than this game? Yes. Do I pity it's existence, as it's forever lost in the internet, doomed to be uncovered by people who were fans of the funny hammer game and then played it for 5 seconds? Not really.

the ideal arcade game. most versions fucking suck though and the fact the NES version has been preserved in any way proves the lack of God's existence (i am slightly overreacting)

Ahh school, we’ve all been through it…unless you were homeschooled or were just naturally born smart. But I bet a good 97% have all been through the struggle that is school. We’ve all experienced the classics: homework, friendships, relationships, and bullying. Someone should probably make a game about it…and that’s when rockstar came into the picture. I’m sure many people would’ve laughed at the idea of the devs behind gta creating a game about being in school, how ridiculous. But it fucking rules.

You play as Jimmy Hopkins, a troubled school boy who has been sent by his mother to a new school in the town of bullworth. As you proceed through the game you become accustomed to the town and the school itself. You find the groups: the nerds, the jocks, the greasers, and the preps. Unfortunately I’m from Britain and only 2 of these groups exist in my school and the rest are just more of an American thing I guess. It pretty much controls like a gta game with obvious changes.

For starters you can’t drive cars or steal cars, you can however use bicycles and steal them from other students…except the girls, DO NOT STEAL A BIKE FROM A GIRL. There are also no guns and instead you have to resort to more friendlier weapons such as potato guns and fire crackers. You can also go to lessons which are basically just little time wasting mini games with slight benefits. For example if you go through English, you’ll have to assemble different words using a certain number of letters…so you could put the word ‘war’ down and all of a sudden you know how to flirt with girls better. You can also do jobs around the town if you want to but it’s not that necessary as you just get money from completing jobs and can get pretty rich for a 15 year old. You can also compete in bike races which I’m literally an expert on. Move over Lewis Hamilton, Jimmy Hopkins is the new champion.

The story is basically about assembling the school together and forming a more friendlier society. You go up against Gary who wants to basically do the same but take it a step further by taking over the entire school and creating chaos. I don’t usually like to copy from others but there was a YouTuber that pointed out quite a few parts of the characters in the game. For example Gary mentions how he takes medication which adds a layer of sadness to the character and almost makes his actions make sense. Which is another thing about this game: it is very well written. From the grease wannabes to the alcoholic English teacher each character has interesting and unique details and dialogue.

The town itself is also a part of the game I wish to quickly discuss. You play throughout the game whilst the world slowly changes from season to season. You also get to go to the different places around the town, such as the amusement park and the insane asylum (which is right near to a school for some reason lol). Also you have the opportunity to unlock new places to rest and save. To start with you only get your room at the school to save and rest but as you continue playing you can get the basement of a comic shop all the way to a lighthouse. A 15 year old is now a property owner.

Bully is one of the most creative and witty games I’ve probably ever played. In my honest opinion it’s one of rockstars crowning achievements and it deserves a sequel or revival of some sort.

Brilliant gameplay, excellent music, beautifully designed world, well written characters, great story, everybody do the cow dance

Another one of my childhood favorites I came back to recently. In terms of the story, gameplay, excellent soundtrack, and sheer amounts of postgame they packed into this one, it has a strong claim to being the best Pokémon spin-off and possibly best game in the whole series.

This is a game I’ve played probably dozens of time since I was a kid, the last time I played this was with the “Trashlocke” hack, which was a lot of fun and let me use Mons I never would’ve used normally.
