The area to explore is cool, just more great Dark Souls level designing. The wolf boss is alright. Sister Friede would be so fucking good if they toned down her last phase a little.

Dark Souls 3 feels like such a massive aversion to having new cool stuff at the cost of having "fans" mad. There are actual things DS2 did bad that could be rectified here, and they were because it was mostly early game feeling like dog ass dude to agility, but after that, it is still another great Souls game with probably too much enemies in places. Dark Souls 3, in turn, wants you remember just how great Dark Souls 1 was, and perhaps worsening the normal enemy design from 2.

Thats my main negative feeling towards this game is just normal enemies are way too tuned and aggressive, AND they will often throw a couple of those ones at you at the same time. It just sours the non boss experiences of this game just because they probably wanted to up the difficulty. I mean I still got through it with relative ease, but fuck I dont like it.

The level design is still stellar however. Fun to explore levels that look great. The lack of the world being super interconnected is weighted by the levels being super connected internally.

Pretty much all the bosses are good and par for the course, but I don't particularly super care for any of them except maybe Soul of Cinder and Vordt.

The story is still pretty cool too, I love the idea that people linked the flame way too fucking much and everything sucks ass because of it, shit HAS to change, but no one really wants to do it, or even knows how perhaps. They will link the fire, usher in a age of dark, or even just do nothing like the princes, but it is all stagnancy. This world is stagnant and on the verge of dying, and everything is coalescing together. Now this concept is pretty fucking good except the only thing that really seems to be coalescing is Dark Souls 1. Dark Souls 2 does have a lot of items and stuff, but an overwhelming amount of story/locations/bosses are just call backs to DS1. I don't think it would feel nearly as self-conscious if they split the redoing of stuff. I do actually love how Fromsoft reuses shit all the fucking time between games, but it just feels gratuitous in this game. Yes, I remember Anor Londo, and I also remember Drangleic.

In summary, I think this game plays good, looks good, has good levels, and good bosses, but is painted over with more annoying normal enemies and feels almost empty because of it doesn't have too much of its own thing going on.

I think this game has a good style, I just fucking hate n64 shooting

Pretty enjoyable. I enjoy the ensemble cast concept and that no one is the "main" character even if I only really enjoyed 3 of them mechanically. Played this as my first Final Fantasy because Kefka is a clown, and I was hearing a lot about an opera scene, both were pretty cool (except them gamifying the opera house and having to redo parts, thats just stupid.) It was cool letting everyone learn basically any spell. I did have to cheat at the end because I was under leveled for the final boss and I was not gonna level people.

Dark Souls II can feel clunky as shit and piss you off. Hell, I felt this on my like 7th playthrough where I couldnt get to the weapon i wanted and rage quit super hard. I also never really beat the game despite having around 7 attempts because I just stopped for no real reason. I finally came back and finished it all, and it is and always will be a favourite of mine.

I will say this game still has a lot of changes I'm not a fan of. Getting cancelled out of opening door/chest or even fog door animations is super bullshit. That along with enemies having insane aggro ranges is super annoying for boss runs. I get the adaptability thing since there are really only 2 roll types in this game, but it just makes the game feel like shit at the beginning which is probably one of the worse things you can do to keep people playing.

Besides that, and some other various specific things, this game has that swagger. I absolutely adore the storytelling and lore of this game the most in the series. There are so many weapons to fuck around with that are fun. The bosses have about the same consistency as DS1 to me, there are just more of them. The way NG+ actually switches stuff up is really cool.

Also coming back to this after Elden Ring, I can see SO many reused concepts from this game. Crumbling Fazula is just Dragon Aerie, the shit ass snow fog from the DLC is the in ER, powerstancing. I feel like Radahn is another attempt at Burnt Ivory King's "have more than a normal amount of friendly npc's for a cool set piece boss." Glad to see them reiterate on stuff from this game.

I can just keep going on and gushing about stuff, I love this game, but I can also understand if you piggs you off.

The third DLC still has a well designed level to explore, but the bosses kind of flop compared. I just don't like the pets that much, and there are 3 of them! The Burnt Ivory King is cool as shit lore wise, and the raid thing is cool too, but annoying when you want to fight him, doesn't really make me want to put effort into 1v1ing him. The optional dungeon is a neat idea that isn't really fun to do.

A lot of stuff about finding yourself(?) and being okay with who you are(?), and also something about evolving past our human form, all trapped in a vapourwave coating that doesn't go as far stylistically as I would hope. It's fine.

Dark Souls is just so fun and tight to play. From its level design in where levels overlap in a way that makes you go "oh shit!" (not unlike a metroidvania), to the weapons feeling meaty and most of them being viable to use, to the background lore that started it all. Its just all just peak video games.

Another DLC with amazing level design. Brume tower itself is just so beautiful standing there amongst the ashed landscape. Fume Knight is a very good boss, and Sir Alonne is one of the best ever. The side dungeon in this DLC is evil however and sucks ass.

Some peak fromsoft level design. I love how much more puzzle-y it is, finding what triggers to shoot and whatnot. The story behind the city is cool. Elana is fun and Sinh is such a cool dragon. The cave of the dead is a somewhat annoying, but short dungeon leading up to another pretty fun boss fight vs 3 npc's.

This game is like every bad decision of the beginning of the xbox one era. I found a collectable and it told me to open the phone app. The season pass comes with one time (lifetime) use items that are also DRM'd to the save file you claim them on so they won't work in another directory.. There are microtransactions for a singeplayer game.

Besides all that the game looked really good, but in a way that pissed me off. Like the hacking mini-game looks very good for a mini-game, but i also cannot fucking tell what im looking at anymore. Along with the fact this game crashed and apparently does so frequently, I am just gonna have to give up on this.

Compared to the first game it has funner gameplay, but it feels more tame story wise compared to the first game. Also has lamer music.

This appealed to my emotions on a primal level

Aliens vs. Predator is kind of just one those mid feeling 7th gen fps's. Kind of just have to review this through campaigns.

Human Marine:
This campaign is probably the most boring one. The guns are sufficient, but they lack any oomph to them. Thats kind of it, 2 hours of human gun shooting with a serviceable action plot.

Xenomorph:
The xenomorph moves super fast and is kind of more stealth based. It can crawl on every surface and crawl through vents. I was having fun just going through the levels as fast as I could, but when I got to the like 1 mandatory "Clear out the enemies" section I got a little pigged. The xenomorph just doesnt have enough tools to satisfy this stealth combat encounter.

Predator:
I think the predator's is the best campaign because it has so much more tools and upgrades through its campaign, though this is the only one I turned down to easy because the stealth still sucks and humans just always know where you are once they find you. Im very surprised there is a "full" hand to hand combat system int his game and it mostly shines through with the Predator (I mostly just spammed light attack, but it is still neat). Mostly, the Predator campaign just shines a light on how good a fully focused predator game could be, but doesn't hit that mark itself.

Overall this game is neat, and has neat stuff, but is spread kind of thin with the three campaigns to focus on anything so that it shines.

Didn't enjoy it as much as other Lego games, I kind of feel like it sacrificed levels for the sake of cinematics. I did enjoy seeing Lord of the Rings redone like this however, so its fine.

It is another Lego game that I just did the main missions and no free play, and I also do not want to interact with the hub/over world part.
