The story is what kept me hooked, gameplay is fun but it was frustrating to use the stealth mode because anytime you fired a shot the whole base would be alerted like it just felt like the game could not decide what it wanted to be. The second half though it sets the tone and reveals that yup this is an action shooter and not a stealth one. (Played on ps5)

With a seemingly ungrateful fan base and it really only being a good game when a perfect storm of communicative players, plentiful resources, players who are willing to RP (nothing serious) and among a few other things, the game truly shines and is to me one of the best games I’ve played from one of my least favorite genres, when a server doesn’t meet some of the criteria listed above it is easily a 2 star game and not at all fun, once friends are made and you find regulars on whatever platform you play on the issues can be minimized. Basically some days it’s amazing some days I can’t fucking stand this game. (Played on ps5)

This game goes so hard, I’ve never played D2, but this was a treat I will continue to play this for days to come. You all know the formula I don’t have to go over the gameplay loop.

Well there’s not much to say, the interesting story has been changed? I couldn’t really get a grip on what was going on half of the time. Oh and the graphical landmark of the first game and that whole shtick is not here so it doesn’t even have that going for it. Also if I bought this when it first came out for $60 I would have been pissed off because the campaign is not worth that much money. The action sequences were just plainly mediocre but the stealth ones were great, like the first if this series focused on more stealth oriented missions it would be a far superior gameplay loop. All in all it’s not a bad game just very run of the mill and mediocre, play if you’re interested in the series. (Played on ps5)

I have no idea why this IP has this boner to get rid of one of its coolest /iconic assets. Am I the only one that feels like it’s a little weird that they keep down playing the Jedi??
Maybe it’s nostalgia, but I feel like this and some of the other media are trying to get rid of an iconic role to push some garbage and will ‘try’ and make their own identity distancing themselves further to what Star Wars is. When he cut that holocron (the item you spend the whole game getting) made your accomplishments you made in the game gives this impression that the journey was a complete waste of time. It honestly makes more sense to be a sith or join the empire because they at least have a form of unity and not out right trying to fucking kill/undermine their iconic characters identity. Also the witch felt phoned in and I wasn’t a fan of her. I’m at a crossroads, because the game is good it really is and the ps5 upgrade made every scene look hand crafted and well made.

Years ago I got to the end game and had nothing but a ball with it, I shelved it before I beat it. Coming back I don’t know if it’s my state of mind? My mood? Or maybe my taste in games has changed as a whole. After 15 hours I don’t know how anyone can stand for these characters to walk this slow, and the combat is not my taste anymore but if you’re a fan of a good and very articulate RPG and you have 40 hours to kill I would suggest trying it if under $20 or free on whatever platform you have a game pass on.

I just can’t get into the combat where it allows almost non existent combat creativity. Also for people saying ‘it’s not a souls game’ why the fuck is it virtually the same as a souls game?? Any time more than TWO enemies engage you it’s as if you are froze and can’t even engage, maybe the argument would stand if it was different but it’s not. There’s a reason I’m shelving this game and it’s just not fun. If you’re idea of fun is this optimal parry bs knock yourself out.

Alright so I wrote this last night very drunk. To elaborate, it’s okay if people like this game it’s just not for me, there’s the argument that ‘it’s not a souls game’ point taken, however isn’t that a little disingenuous? It has bonfires, flasks, item system that’s the same etc. I could go on and with that said to me it’s a step back we have everything from a souls game here however say good bye to build variety, EVERY boss is made to beat in one optimal way and one way only, there’s no options here to tackle these powerful foes and it just feels one note and for that I had to let it ago because every iteration has those options and to me make a better game.

What a good fucking game, admittedly I did rush the last quarter of it because of my itching to play my recently purchased Xbox series X. If you’re anyone that has an interest in history this is a big recommendation from me, education is what I think to be the cornerstone of this game, the codex taught me so much, and that Europeans were a disgusting people. I washed myself in a public troff ffs. I intentionally left some of the map undiscovered and didn’t play any DLC content to warrant a second play through will be back to play this game for sure.

First DMC game, I broke in my series X with this game. I was impressed all the way through, even though I was sucking ass at combos, I still had a lot of fun. Plan on playing more of this series.

A nostalgic trip into the first game I played on the 360, really good times this one seems it had the largest and most ambitious scope out of the original trilogy. Also do these people sleep? It’s kind of a funny thought when I play a gears of war game.

It’s sad, only because what started out to be my first 5 star review of this site turned out to be a grating and frustrating experience in the 8 hour mark. Truly the beginning of the game exudes charm and creativity. Headache after headache are what I can describe the later levels (after the milkman level) just frustrating and characters appear almost out of nowhere with zero context as to why they are there. Not nearly enough development of the story to explain how all the kids lost their brains? Like at one moment they were fine, the next oh their brains are gone and it’s night time, I can’t believe there are some that find the Waterloo level even remotely fun. I may return to this again some day maybe when I get into the correct head space or something.

Really solid, shelved because of frustration of getting so far and then dying, also it would probably be a 5 star but I bought it at $70 and I don’t think the game is worth that much with the content it has. That said it’s best to probably pick up under $40 or do the new PSN game service.

This is part of my replay of this series on the new Legendary edition, also WEEWOO!!! First five star since I started this app.

Let’s set the stage here folks, imagine for a second the board gives you the task of designing a game around the most over baked and established genre in almost all mediums, ‘science fiction’ I would shit my pants and have to quit my job tbh, you have to think about what this game is batting against when it was being conceptualized and developed, you have your Star Wars, Halos, Star trek, Alien etc. to name a few. What they did release is nothing short of a masterpiece, I truly did not notice the genius behind this game my first go around years ago when I was a teen, I’m older now and it hit me that this game is probably one of the most ambitious titles I’ve ever played. Truly by far my favorite sci fi setting in any entertainment medium.

Now to the bad. A few planets that are so shit to navigate you for go the extra treasures on them because you don’t want to fight the controls to hopefully climb a virtual mountain. Some of the shooting gallery’s are used over and over again and shines the most in the side quests. Oh and it’s also the first in a series so a lot of jank is forgivable in my eyes.

In conclusion despite its flaws and it being the first game Mass Effect manages to stand out and make a statement to the world that got itself in its day a very good following and a must have back then if you had a 360. (Played on Series X)

Edit I forgot to mention that I regret playing it through on normal it is not a good difficulty in this game I feel like hard is the more optimal experience.

read my review on the first game also second 5/5 on this account.

It’s a good game when you want instant multiplayer action, it’s like a McDonald’s meal honestly. Its only ever launched when friends are online or I need a break from the current game I’m playing.
