This might be one of my favorite platformers of all time. I love the way klonoa controls, the story had me intrigued, especially for a PS1 game.
Once you save all the people you unlock a bonus level, which I loved that as well, felt like a great challenge.
The music of the game is wonderful as well, I normally get in the zone and forget about the music in games, but with this one I just vibed with it, can't praise the soundtrack enough.
Excited to get into klonoa 2 eventually, hopefully that game is just as good

Good game, I love that it's not just a retelling of the original. I appreciate when a remake keeps the original game still relevant rather than making it obsolete (except for those like me who play for the historical value)
Not a huge fan of the combat, I will say though, the fight against neo bahamut was amazing and showed me how this game was capable of great things, but for every bahamut there was whatever the monster in the sewers was, or sahagins.
I dont exactly appreciate that hard mode is just the same game but without items but hey, just not for me and I'm sure people are here for that.
It was nice to see so much of Midgar and honestly I did have a great time with this game

So, I am a sucker for a good challenge. I knew eventually I would have to play through these games. Idk the bosses were just mid, felt pretty brainless for most of them.
The enemies just felt obnoxious, and I know that's the point, but idk. Game never really challenged me, mostly just bored me.
Now the dlc bosses. That's why the rating is 3.5 instead of just 3. Holy cow those bosses were amazing. Exactly the type of stuff I expected.

Wow, I am so glad I played the original trilogy of RE games. I really like how I feel that each one has something unique to bring to the table. I have a new found respect for the series as a whole.
Nemesis, is just amazing, the fact you can choose to fight him or run. He's constant. It's funny to me, this has similar vibes to me as the re2 remake, but definitely not the re3 remake. After playing the original, I think the 3 remake is alright? Maybe, but they did this game dirty

Phew, this has officially taken the spot of my favorite resident evil. I can't believe how much fun I had playing it. I've actually lost some respect for the remake, as it did 2nd scenarios dirty compared to this.
The different characters on different discs is just so cool (even though I played N64 both characters on one cartridge). Tyrant only appearing in the second run was genius, it adds so much to the second playthrough, I just wish he followed as relentlessly as he does in the remake for that intensity.
This is a game I will definitely play again, and I'm so glad I've taken the time to get good at tank controls as these games are soo fun

I was afraid going into this. I've heard for years how amazing of a game Alan Wake was, and normally in my experience when something gets hyped up like that, I end up disappointed.
I was not. It had genuine scares, not so much jump scares, but just unsettling. The gameplay was fun. My only disappointment was the ending. Although I will say I don't know a way they could have done it better

I was honestly surprised how much I liked this game. I have been on a bit of a horror game run, and this wasn't really a scary or tense game, but I had fun the whole way through, I was not surprised to learn Yoko Shimomura worked on the music for this, as the music was quite a bop. If you come in expecting a (rather short) rpg, you'll be in for a good ride in my opinion
While technically I played the ps2 translated release of this, I have only played Marie so far, and as such wanted to review only Marie, my understanding is this is pretty much the same thing with the ps2 having better graphics.
I had never played any game in the atelier series before, in fact I only recently learned of its existence through a tweet by Koei Tecmo. I always like to try and start a series from its beginnings, and boy am I glad I did on this one.
One very interesting thing about playing a game that never formally made it to the states is that its very hard to find any sort of guide, which I actually enjoyed, normally its too easy to find answers online, and none of my questions here were to bad.
Now for why this game didn't get 5 stars from me. There were some things about it that were a bit obtuse to me, especially the rumor system. I had (incorrectly) assumed that rumors would just be like hints I could buy, but after year 3 and still not finding quite a few materials I eventually found the answer online, I had to buy rumors. The gameplay loop itself was quite addicting I thought, especially how difficult it was to get started, and then how much the game changes once you get your foot holding and know the ins and outs.
I still am unsure what the castle was supposed to be for, or both of them for that matter, I got the ticket for the castle at the very end, went in and could only talk to the king who had nothing to say, and then the outer castle never had anything for me either.
Perhaps this is my own shortcomings as I never finished the tower.
In the end I got the Researcher ending, I think after a short break I will start atelier Ellie. I hope I enjoy it just as much as this one.

I am glad I finally got myself to finish this game. I will say it is funny to me when people make fun of kingdom hearts writing as this has some awkward moments in the same way kh does in my opinion.
The story beats itself were a bit all over the place but they were also enjoyable. Over all a good game, I would play it again sometime I think
