An itch.io game that you spend 40 dollars on. Knock it out in a weekend, or don't and then just stop playing after 10 hours anyway.

Way WAAAAY too many mechanics for a portable game with an emphasis on story and characters. Requires an absurd amount of dedication and personal time investment for very little to no return. Would in fact be easier to pilot an actual starfleet. Also the main character wants to fuck his sister.

While Something holds it back from being truly perfect, it stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the series and has some of the greatest thrills you could ask for in a modern Nintendo game. More importantly, it fulfilled a lifetime of expectations and joy and left me hopeful again for the future of a series I was positive was dead forever

Perfect Wyatt Game. Saturday Morning Cartoon Doom Mixed With Metroid Prime

The current pinnacle of storytelling in video games as a medium. If you are writing a game with an "interesting" story, play this and pour over it and then throw your trash away and start over. An ode to everything beautiful and fun about B-tier media and the best possible way to end the PS4 generation

More boring than anything else. I only beat it one time cause I give up halfway, and I've beaten Hunters like 5 times. Yeah the story sucks and is hilariously melodramatic, but I'm a Kingdom Hearts fan so it doesn't faze me. The unrelenting tedium of the game is too much

Excellent remake of my precious Metroid 2, but still not quite as good. Does a ton of magic in terms of level design and puzzle solving. If Mercury Steam made an original Metroid game, it'd be the best on, easily.

Wins over AM2R purely because its actually canon and will affect the series going forward

Best raw game of the series, but a little too slight to stack up to the hours of hypnotic immersion of Super. Probably the best remake of all time imo so there's that

Kinda sucks, but a decent game shockingly enough. Barely Metroid in my estimation, but as a DS FPS its functional and exciting

Underrated entry! Has the best worldbuilding in terms of logbook stuff. The dialogue i could do without though. In this one, you nearly drive yourself to insanity to kill the Cancer at its source. Good ending to the trilogy, but not quite as excellent as Super
