Anyone who unironically likes this game is a dangerous masochist that needs to get help immediately :troll:
Pro-tip though; just watch a video game movie of this game and wait for a remake, because the godawful gameplay squanders everything remotely good about this game (like the story, atmosphere, music and characters)

I've seen reviews of this game which highlight it's "massive" open world and it's "amazing" and "forward thinking" pawn system. Personally I was quite baffled when I played the game. I spent most of my time walking between the same two towns of a map which is hardly massive. The pawn system while fine is nothing to write home about, I would rather have companions that actually have something interesting to say. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the game. It has its charm, the combat system is good, you are able to grab onto enemies and team up with your pawns, the quests are fairly solid too. Unfortunately, its bogged down by walking over the same boring path with the same enemies who respawn in exactly the same places. On the other hand you can use a warp stone and skip most of the game. If you are a fan of action RPGs, especially difficult ones, then this is a semi- enjoyable romp. The side missions are quite detailed and normally have an interesting set up. The graphics are quite nice. However, it feels like it could have been better and in many ways seems a little over-hyped.

"With my dying breath, I curse the poor!" - Greg the Dragon seconds before magically obliterating the Gransys Slums for absolutely no rhyme or reason

Dragon's Dogma is that sort of game where it feels like it shouldn't work at all, but by sheer force of will it does anyhow. Godawful slow traversal across a mostly empty world? Oh, you bet, and yet I got sucked in and happily wandered around that barren repetitive landscape with almost nothing to see in it, fighting all of like 5 enemy types and having a great time while my pawns chattered incessantly about things hating fire. The story is extremely thin and lacking in detail, but do you think I'm really gonna sit there and just let that bastard dragon take my heart without giving him a piece of my mind? Hell no, give that back, that's mine! It's an incredibly weird game that stands out as one of the more experimental and interesting works Capcom put out during the entire PS3/360 era - despite its flaws, there's something unique and compelling here that lands just right. Definitely interested to see what they do with the sequel, and maybe I'll check out the post-game and DLC content before then.

I pirated it a week before release

I really wanted to like this game, but that did not happen. The Temple of the Ocean King is the first major problem I have with this title, but no one likes it so it's not worth complaining about right now. Everything just takes longer to do in this game (similar issue I had with Skyward Sword). I didn't like sailing, I didn't like the Jolene fights, I didn't like how finding treasure in the ocean worked, and I didn't like the stylus controls for combat. Despite me thinking that the dungeon puzzles were cool and enjoying the new cast of characters, this is easily one of my least favorite Zelda titles.

This game has its fair share of problems. The new pikmin types trivialize a lot of the puzzles and enemies. The captains talk a little bit too much. The controls take some getting used to.

That said, I don't think I can give it lower than an 8. The game just feels so polished compared to the first two. The pikmin are less stupid, there's some nice qol fixes that make it more fun to play, and it doesn't overstay its welcome.

A game with top-notch combat, artstyle and story, unfortunately flawed by a horrible pacing and side questlines that feels like MMO generic fetch quests(though I do recommend them being done, cause the story revolving it is worth the while)

This game can't find the right balance between being Asura's Wrath, God Hand, Stranger of Paradise or God of War XIV: A Game of Thrones Reborn

Babylons Fall grew on me. It started out bad, but once I got a good build and was capable of destroying everything effortlessly, I enjoyed it in a cathartic way. However, the end game of Babylons Fall after Season 1 is so inaccessible to anyone who didn't buy the game day 1, it's impossible to keep playing after the last mission without 60+ hours of PURE GRIND.

But I liked the first 20 hours of linear solo content enough to finish it. Worth a try on PSPlus or deep sale to platinum fans.

Also, Babylons Fall's bosses have easily the coolest music of the year. Every one rivals the best of Dark Souls, and its a shame the fights themselves are just long and tedious.
