Masterpiece. No game has married the gameplay and storytelling of a detective better than this. Each of the 60 crewmates story is so well told, and it's all done entirely through 15-30s vignettes and the rest is up to you to figure out. A Top 10 game of all time.

Who knew you could care so much about rectangles? This is a really well made 2D platformer with a neat narrative.

Really fun baseball game that doesn't take itself too seriously, but allows players to take it as seriously as they want. Reminded me of my Slugfest 2004 days.

I got tricked into buying this game, and then proceeded to play for 30 hours before realizing I was wasting my time. This is the single most over-hyped game of all time, though I can't deny its influence on the video game industry as a whole (which in my opinion is unfortunate, but it is what it is).

A unique game that is way overhyped. The surfing section is cool, but other than that, this game isn't anything special, and for $15, not worth the 90 minute game time.

2017

A pretty adventure/puzzler whose story hits fairly hard at the end when everything gets re-contextualized. I'm a sucker for environmental puzzle games so this one was right up my alley. Not incredible, but well done enough and kept me engaged.

Overhyped indie game where the puzzles are abstracted from the island. The "mind-blowing" feature of seeing the same puzzles in the environment wasn't anything special. Jonathan Blow is obviously very intentional in his design, but he's too far up his own ass to make something truly special.

The start of one of the greatest franchises of all-time. This game was good but not great. The action gameplay was really rough, but the RPG aspects of the game were good, and the story told in this one is really good.

Rock Band is an all-time great series, and one of my all-time favorites. Played the shit out of these games on the PS2 when they came out, and had a resurgence when Rock Band 4 came out in 2015. The game in particular probably has the best soundtrack of any of the music games (rock band or guitar hero) ever compiled.

Fantastic Point and Click Adventure that turns the genre on its head. Breaks the fourth wall, is legitimately funny, and doesn't overstay its welcome.

This game is a pretty sweet hybrid of 2D action/platformer and top-down spaceship shooter. This was a good game to play during a summer lull after the PS4 came out and it kept my attention to the end.

Oof, this was a disappointing sequel. The lack of an engaging narrative left me wandering around doing nothing and eventually giving up on the game entirely. Also, as much as I enjoyed the Nemesis System in the first one, this time it felt like they were really shoving it into your face. Seemed like every 5 seconds you were running into a Named Orc, which would cause the game to take control for a cutscene, and that got annoying.

2019

Game is fine, but it's plagued with technical problems. Tries to capture the magic of PS2-era 3D platformers, but never does anything interesting enough to break out of the shadows of the greats.

My least favorite of any of the Sly games I played, and the only one I didn't finish. I think this was a case of bigger isn't always better, and I found myself growing tired of playing it before the game was over.

I've played this game on both PS4 and PC for about 12 hours on each system. This is a pretty fun and hectic top-down shooter with some really neat ideas, but the structure of the game with the lack of any real progression outside of your character lead me and the 2 different crews I've played this with abandon it once we got our fill, which was way sooner than whatever the end-game is.
