Near perfect ending to an amazing trilogy

Gameplay/Mechanics l 7/10
Completely unchanged from the previous game:

"Pointing out contradictions and objecting to the witness bullshit is really fun,the game is not that interesting mechanicaly or that hard but the whole tension that is in the courtroom make even more satisfying catch witnesses lying"

"Exploration can be a bit tiring sometimes but is generally fine."

Story:Characters/Writing/Lore l 9,25/10
The classic amazing ace attorney writing in this game is improved with the develoment of most of the cast and with their arcs coming to a close extremly nicely,i love every character on this game, maybe not larry and amstrong, but i love the rest, even fucking franziska that i didnt like in the previous game becomes a likeable character with a really fun trial and interactions just becomes she is more friendly and shows more side than just wanting revenge, all this in just one case compared to the previous game that had the whole game with her,not to mention new characters like godot, and i think he is my second favorite prosecutor just a little behind edgeworth,so cool and has absurd analogies that lead to some really funny moments and interactions and he gets depth and develoment.

The other characters like edgeworth, gumshoe, maya are as usually great, and they too get develoment and more depth in this game.
I also really liked mia in this game, easily her best appareance in the trilogy, her cases are really fun and it just makes for a memorable experience.
And overall everything is so enjoyable becomes the banter and interactions are so fun.

Also another thing that this game does better than the previous ones is that it has a more linear storyline, with three cases being part of gigantic case really, and the way its sliced up in the story is just amazing

most of my statements are still true to this game as the previous ones in terms of the writing:

"Really good,i like the characters,it has fun writing, each case has its own depth and lore, the main cast consistently get depth added along the game not making them stale, and its just entertaining"

Sound l 10/10
Sound is unchanged for the most part, but what this game does to push it to 10/10 status is the use of more sound effects in dialogue and just a better soundtrack.

1:Now with this game there are a lot more sound effects in dialogue, the two most notable changes are the ascendant note when there are multiple questionable events happening in a row or in a funny situation and two the use of the sound effects they talk about, like there were a lot of times where they saying they heard a "THUMB" sound and the game plays it,this makes it that much better than before than there was just the text with no sound to make it more lively.

2:better soundtrack, the music in this game is just better than the previous two, especially in chapter 5 and the courtroom music are amazing and a great soundtrack in its own without even the creative use of sound the ace attorney franchise is characterised for.

now my previous statements on the games still mostly apply to this one as well:

"Its not the music that makes sound in this game so special,it is its usage of the music and sound effects."

"The game knows when to stop the music and when to resume it,it does this on perfect timings to make things more intense"

"It also does this with the use of sound effects, they make every move feel more powerfull, for example the sound effect of the attorney's throwing their hands to their desk,or another example is von karma finger snap."
"It all sounds crisp and makes thing more intense"

Graphics/Aesthetics l 7,5-8/10
Aesthetics are unchanged from the previous games:

"The graphics/aesthetics are decent but what i want to talk about is the camera use in the courtroom, since it moves not instantly (most of the time) it either manually moves to the person talking or quickly switchs between the people in the courtroom, and it all adds to the charm of the game."

Lenght of the game/Content l 8,75-9/10
As always the game its decently sized and doesnt overstay its welcome, its tight, and i apreciate that.

So,talking about the cases, they are an complete improvement over the previous games, only 2 are filler and the other three contribute to the overall narritive of the game, and even the filler cases get called up on the main ones,so this game is just better because unlike the other two it has a actual story.

Case ranking:

5:Recipe for turnabout

The weakest case in the game,i still dont think its bad since furio tigre is a fun villain and the trials with godot are never not fun,my main problem with it is that it has so many forgetable characters like remember that woman that was like a robot or something or glen, they are really forgetabble, but still the plot of a mafia and a dopelganger will never not be fun,so the case its just fine.

4:Turnabout Memories
Easily the best opening case of the trilogy and overall and amazing short case that builds up the story, its really interesting defending phoenix and playing with mia, their different personalities are noticeable and it makes for some really fun moments, most of the time i expect a tutorial case to be a snooze fest,i never expected it to be this fun

3:The Stolen Turnabout
Solid, rock solid, both trials are fun and its really neat having a case that isnt a murder for once even if it will eventually become one, godot is an extremely entertaining prosecutor and he has a great debut, also the relationship between the defendant and his wife is really sweet, the ace detective is a fine witness and the way the make fun of him later on the game is really fun banter.

2:Turnabout Beginnings
Amazing case to set up 3-5,its a pretty long trial and it becomes really intense and stablishes a hateable villain and a tragic ending, also its interesting seeing edgeworth so young and the trial has fun interactions with every member in it,also the way it is introduced in the story with wright in bed its amazing foreshadowing to the things that will happen in the ending case.

1:Bridge To The Turnabout
Wow,im pretty certain to say that this is the best case in the trilogy, and ace attorney is known for having amazing ending cases, but this one just blows it out of the stadium, just a perfect case and conclusion to the trilogy,it ties up or explores every plot point build up to this point and does so really really well.

Another thing that i really liked was the inclusion of edgeworth as a playable character, since his personality is so different from phoenix you get a lot of interesting interactions and getting depth through edgeworth monologue and funny moments through his friendship with gumshoe, now during the trial playing with edgeworth as a defense attorney against franziska is extremely fun, easily one of my favorite trials in the trilogy.

Talking about franziska im really impressed that with so little time they made her a likeable character just by having more friendly and funny interactions and by not being a flat jerk all the time, they really improve her character and make her a more fun and interesting character than before.

This case reminds me of 2-4 and its constant twists that keep you locked with the screen, and until the end of the case is not that easy to know what will happen.

I also really like the last trial,is really long but it keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time because you learn a lot of new information while on the trial.

And the case ending is bittersweet, and even though everybody loses something in this case, they all (mostly) learn to be a better person, maya, godot, pearls, franziska, etc, they all learn to be a better person.

And just the ending photo gets me a little emotional, because this is probably the last time im gonna see these characters i love, but it was good while it lasted.

Ending | 9/10
honestly i completely forgot this section for the previous two games, but since this is the end of the trilogy i will rate it,and dam it does an amazing job at it,it ties everything nicely, all characters get a resolution, you get meaning of that even if someone isnt with you anymore they will still be with you and that you have to be strong for those who help you and its not strict in its resolution, since life continues,we dont know what their up to in the far future,it feels human.

Playability l 3/3
Game works as intended with no bugs

OVERALL
Just as good as i thought it will be,miles ahead of the second game and better than the first one,and with its amazing depth to new and old characters, its improved sound, more consistent with the quality of the cases and actually having a kind of linear story, this game is the best way to send off the classic trilogy.

Really the only reason this is not a 10 is because case 3 is improvable and because case 2 and 3 are complete filler, even though they are fun.

But honestly i think this game might just be better than ghost trick, only thing that game has over this one is that it is more consitent,it has better gameplay and better graphics and maybe linear storyline, but i might just think that this game taking into account the whole building up to it might just be better on everything else.

so,amazing,really,really amazing
Strong 9

wow ea,you again ruin something, now toty, how the fuck is with the full team less chances of packing a toty than with the defense team, you even ruined the thrill of opening packs on the best time of the year, now instead of thrilling is just annoying, thanks ea take your star

one of the most fun games to play with friends, also you can get really good at this game there is some skill to it

dam this wholeheartedly is not great at all

Gameplay/Mechanics l 7/10
The gameplay actually is improved from the first one by adding presenting profiles, but the gameplay loop is getting tiresome ,i hope that they improved this on next games because its going to get bad.so i think gameplay on this one is worse than the other one, only because im getting tired of the gameplay loop though because the gameplay is a straight upgrade.

What i said for the first game still apllies:

"Pointing out contradictions and objecting to the witness bullshit is really fun,the game is not that interesting mechanicaly or that hard but the whole tension that is in the courtroom make even more satisfying catch witnesses lying

"Exploration can be a bit tiring sometimes but is generally fine."

Story:Characters/Writing/Lore l 6,5-7/10
Even though the game still has the charm in the writing of the first game,it has worse characters,i like new ones like pearls but there are another ones like franzeska that just dissapointing me or other ones like regina that just annoy me,but even the new ones dont get a lot of depth, also there isnt anything resembling a plot connecting the cases in this game and its just less interesting that the first game, again maybe this is because this is the second game with the same formula, and maybe im getting tired, but i genunly think its worse.

Part of what i said for the first game still aplies,so what i said for the first game:

"Really good,i like the characters,it has fun writing, each case has its own depth and lore, the main cast consistently get depth added along the game not making them stale, and its just entertaining"

Sound l 8,5/10
The sound is basically the same as last game except that the music is a little worse

What i said for the for the first game:

"Its not the music that makes sound in this game so special,it is its usage of the music and sound effects."

"The game knows when to stop the music and when to resume it,it does this on perfect timings to make things more intense"

"It also does this with the use of sound effects, they make every move feel more powerfull, for example the sound effect of the attorney's throwing their hands to their desk,or another example is von karma finger snap."
"It all sounds crisp and makes thing more intense"

Graphics/Aesthetics l 7,5/10

Graphics are the same from the first game

What i said for the first game:

"The graphics/aesthetics are decent but what i want to talk about is the camera use in the courtroom, since it moves not instantly (most of the time) it either manually moves to the person talking or quickly switchs between the people in the courtroom, and it all adds to the charm of the game."

Lenght of the game/Content:Cases l 4,5-5/10
Now the important part of these reviews, the case breakdown, this is the most important part of the ace attorney reviews

In question of lenght there is the tutorial case, two normal sized cases and a long case,so you are getting less bang for you buck off the back, not even starting to mention the quality of the cases that is way inferior the first game

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS IF YOU DIDNT PLAYED THE GAME OR YOU WANT TO PLAY IT DO NOT READ FURTHER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Case rank and review:

4:Turnabout Big Top
I could talk all day about how bad is this case but im going to sum it up for you, there isnt a single good thing i can say about it apart from the usual likeable characters and there is plenty of bad points:

1:Disgusting pedo love triangle that nobody in the game says a thing against.

2:Bad and annoying new characters, seriously i couldnt care less about any of the fucks at the circus, except the poor owner guy that got killed for such a selfish reason, fuck everyone else,Max,Trilo,Regina,Moe,moe fuck moe man the game gives him so much screen time for purposfully awful and annoying jokes is not funny nor interesting, fuck Acro too, fuck ben too,i hate the whole circus so unlikeable.

3:The giant logic leap, the cape incident,it doesnt make sense and isnt satisfying at all.

4:Acro should not get sympathy for anyone and the game trying to potray him as sympathetic is just plain wrong,he killed the person he himself said owe his life too and tried to kill his daughter, and even though he said that he killed the man he owe his life too,he doesnt like fucking sad at all or even apologizes to regina for killing his dad,he doesnt seem like he gived a fuck.

5:The exploration is awful, constantly having to go and backtrack for every tiny little thing

6:The two first trials are literally useless, they boiled down two,the guy in the suit was not max and that the criminal went floating in the air,you waste hours on those two little things and is just annoying and frustrating, the rest is proven in the final trial

7:It doesnt add anything to the overall plot of the game, not any characters, not plot points not nothing,1-3 also did this but it was good, this is trash.

3:The Lost Turnabout
I dont have much to talk about here,is just a bad tutorial case with an annoying vilain, some dumb plotholes most importantly the broken neck contradiction that you cant point out,an also annoying defendant, look there isnt anything great on this case but it at least its short and has an interesting concept with the lost of memories

2:Reunion,And Turnabout
Not bad,but not great,i say its slightly worse than 1-2 and 1-3.Main good and bad points

1:You get introduced to Pearls and Franzeska, the two main new characters in this game,i like pearls she is innocent and has cute dialogue, franzeska is just kind of dissapointing,i was expecting the manfred aura,he was an amazing villain, but franzeska is just kind of annoying, even though the concept of a von karma succesor is interesting,i hope they do something more with her. Both of them dont get a lot of depth if any, especially franzeska, she basically has the same stick of beating wright the whole game and they dont add depth to her even though she has a lot of screentime, edgeworth in comparision was a much better more in depth character and prosecutor,i will get in more depth into this in 2-4 though.

2:The main antagonist,Mimi or whatever her name was interesting but i wish they wouldve explored more how she feels about her sister and that kind of thing, but i still think she is an interesting antagonist that had a twist that suprised me.

3:The other antagonist, pearls mother just kinda passed and was never talked about again, she says she is planning revenge or sum but atleast in this game she didnt do nothing

4:Its just a good case,nothing that i can i say about it is awful,good trials,decent investigation,satisfying ending,is just good

1:Farewell,My Turnabout
Amazing case, easily the best in the game and is top 3 so far (i played this one and the first game) but i still think it has its flaws.

1:Off the bat the tension is great,a lot of things happen and quickly letting you not time to think whats going on,it reminds me of ghost trick a little

2:One of my main problems with the case is franzeska, she as i said throught the game doesnt get a lot of depth and she just kind of wants revenge nothing more, and this was supposed to be the case that added depth to her,but apart from the ending, franziska is just as plain as before and edgeworth outshines her as a character and gets more depth and develoment,in the ending franziska does get an interesting scene but its too late.

3:So the first half is amazing, but the second half falls short on some parts for me,matt engarde apart from the reveal is a one dimensional villain,de killer also doesnt get a lot of depth apart from well being an assasin, also atleast for me the weight of the decision of guilty or not guilty just was not existent since i always choosed not guilty and it didnt have the emotional impact i think the game wanted to on me.

4:Andrew is a good character and she has depth, even though she doesnt have personality (at least a memorable one) she is interesting enough with the suicide incident and his relationship with the defendant, the victim and her mentor

5:Edgeworth is amazing on this chapter like always.

6:One problem that i have is more personal and maybe just a me thing but,i dont agree with the way the game potrays the court and its roles and im not really talking about phoenix because at least in my playthrough he granted matt the not guilty but he didnt want it.but im clearly seeing that the game is putting a message i dont personally agree on,i think that everyone should have a fair trial with its defense that should seek his benefit should it be full acquittal or a lower penalty, the prosecution its job its to found the defendant fully guilty and when negotiating a deal with the defense for a lower penalty for the defendant to always get the biggest sentence, the truth is to come out in the clash of these two parties, its not their job to find the truth nor should i think they should go out of their way for, because then it stops being a fair trial for one or both parties invovled (most of the time the defense),i know that is a game and they think that this way it wouldve be more interesting, but even then i dont agree,it would be really interesting be defending someone you truly dont know if it he is guilty or not.

Overall even though the last case is amazing and the second one is decent,it doesnt save it from the other two for being trash

Playability l 3/3
game works as intended

OVERALL
If this was your first ace attorney game,i see how you could give this a 7,but i know better, and this is not ideal,it does everything worse than the game before and is just not a enjoyable experience,i hope the next game really improves upon this one

5 to Light 6

this game is so ok that i use it as a standard,if its worse than this game is from mid to lower and if its better then its pretty good to above.

is honestly kind of impressive how did they manage an enjoyable but extremely forgettable little "open world"

remember when this game came out on 2015,along with fnaf, biggest thing of the time, and i think this game marked a before an after in indie games, while also being a really refreshing and creative game

honestly better than swat 4,the realism of this game just really helps it and makes for a great tactical shooter

Charming visual novel that makes my heartbeat go crazy in a way no other game does

Gameplay/Mechanics l 7,5/10
Pointing out contradictions and objecting to the witness bullshit is really fun,the game is not that interesting mechanicaly or that hard but the whole tension that is in the courtroom make even more satisfying catch witnesses lying

Exploration can be a bit tiring sometimes but is generally fine.

Story:Characters/Writing/Lore l 8-8,5/10
Really good,i like the characters,it has fun writing, each case has its own depth and lore, the main cast consistently get depth added along the game not making them stale, and its just entertaining

Sound l 9/10
Its not the music that makes sound in this game so special,it is its usage of the music and sound effects.

The game knows when to stop the music and when to resume it,it does this on perfect timings to make things more intense

It also does this with the use of sound effects, they make every move feel more powerfull, for example the sound effect of the attorney's throwing their hands to their desk,or another example is von karma finger snap.
It all sounds crisp and makes thing more intense

Graphics/Aesthetics l 7,5-8/10
The graphics/aesthetics are decent but what i want to talk about is the camera use in the courtroom, since it moves not instantly (most of the time) it either manually moves to the person talking or quickly switchs between the people in the courtroom, and it all adds to the charm of the game.

Lenght of the game/Content l 8/10
The game keeps it pretty short and focused until case 5 that is almost as big as the whole 4 other cases.I think the game does a good job of cutting the cases before they get stale but also gives them enough time to make characters, lore and a plot that is satisfying, and overall add a little depth to its world and main characters.

I want to take a minute to rank the cases of the game from worst to best:

4:The First Turnabout
its not bad at all at its job,its a tutorial case and shows you how intense and fun the courtroom can be,but lacks in depht and exploration, its a good starting point but you wont remember it.

3:Turnabout Sisters tied with Turnabout Samurai
They are tied because they are both pretty good but arent like great,if i have to give the edge to one of them i give to sisters.

The strong points of turnabout sisters is how many things it introduces and how well it does them,it introduces exploration and multiple characters including Edgeworth and Dick Gumshoe, and it does all of this well, but its low point is its main villain and the last trial its a little weak.

Turnabout Samurai on the other hand i think is a better case overall, the exploration is better and the trials are more interesting, but it does basically nothing to add more depth to the main cast, since all of its character depth goes to the case specific characters, you can skip this case and the story of the game goes mostly unchanged.

2:Turnabout Goodbyes
The conclusion for the gba version and it is amazing, way better than first three.

On this case you get,an amazing villain, good exploration, character depth on the main cast, the trials are intense and fun,it is tight and it is great, there is really not a lot to hate on here is just great

1:Rise From The Ashes
I know this is unpopular because a lot of people hate this case, but i think is the best case in the game and let me explain you why.

This case is by a lanslide the most lenghty in the game, and i think its is biggest strenght,it is really long but it doesnt waste a minute of that time, and due to its lenght you are presented a lot of new characters and all of them have depth to them, even dead people like joe darke and marshall brother have depth to them, and i like all of the new characters, and the villain is pretty good.

But they didnt forget the old characters, Edgeworth for example has a lot of depth added here,Dick also has a lot of screen time, and so are the other old characters.

It also presents a lot of gimmicks that i really like and add variety to the gameplay loop, inspect items, view videos, solve overly precise jar puzzles,i really love the variety here.

My biggest complain comes from the first trial,Ms Starr trial,it just kind of annoying, like you know what contradictions she says but since she says a lot of the same things is hard to know where you have to object.

But as for the other like,5 or 6 trials, they are great, they are mostly not annoying, they are intense and fun

Another thing i wanted to talk about was the case ending that serves well as both a case ending and a proper ending to the game (even though i liked Turnabout Goodbyes ending) you get most characters thoughts and emotions after the trial ending and it feels satisfying.

RFTA could be a game on its own really,i just started the ace attorney series but i already see this case as one of the best overall in the entire series

Playability l 3/3

Just what i was hoping ace attorney will be,it has some of the charm of the perfect ghost trick and it is extremely intense and entertaining in the courtroom
8 to 9

one of the single most cringy games i ever played

I want to talk about the character i roleplayed as,george,i couldnt talk about this in my review because is too long so i made its own log for it

the story of my character, george,is like a ripoff ww

george is a 32 year old half wood elf,he is a 6'3 giant, has a receding hairline and a big ass forehead

photo of him :https://www.tumblr.com/ciruelaman/739460519822557184?source=share

he is a merchant paladin that lived a normal life before he was infected, george was a funny, chill and kind guy,he helped people with no interest in a reward,at least he was like that before starting this journey

while he goes through his adventure, george realizes that he hates is life before the parasite,he hated the boring nature of the day to day life and he hated the chains that having a family had given him,not being able to enjoy himself or go to adventures because of the responsability that having a wife and kids means,so he view this as a miracle.

after having the parasite planted in his brain, george was having more fun than he ever was in his old life.george now feels important,he feels like a leader,he feels in power with nobody above him,and he even receives aproval and emotional gratification from his collegues

about at half point of the game, give or take, george broked his oath for breaking someome skull with a hammer (sneakily) someone he considered a bad person, scum, from that point on,george held a grudge against the pact because of one, george thinks he did the right thing but he was punished for it, and two because when they had taken part of his paladin powers he felt, one of the first times since the start of the adventure, that someone or something was above him,he felt like he had lost authority, that hurt his ego at the time, but later he embraced being an oathbreaker.

he felt like the oath didnt deserve him,and even though he paid his bounty once or twice,it was only really to flex on the paladin oath and how he didnt need their powers (yeah i guess that in his head it makes sense flexint on a set of principles) after recovering his oath he broke them almost inmediatly,so yeah,he never truly got along again with the paladin oath again.

george joys,he gets a high when people say that he is a good person,to an unhealthy point, thats the reason why he helps people in need, thats why when he talks with his collegues about his problems he always tells them in a way that almost forces the other person to pity him, that said hes had a hard life,he also gets a joy,a high, out of that.

an example of this is when he got to the house of hope, where an maid straight up asked him if he was a good person, and george withouth thinking said that yes, that he is a very good person that helps the weak, that he is a textbook paladin, even though at that moment his oath was broken.

when george got to rivington, after becoming a half illitihd,a lot of things changed,he became a lot more agressive,it got to a point that if someone annoying him or offend him he will threaten to kill them and sometimes just downright killed them,no other reason needed.

his ego had reach an all time high, burning 5000 gold coins for a statue
of himself,he did this to receive some kind of reaction,a quick laugh,a face of suprise, something.he burned 5000 coins like it was a joke,he wasted them on a trivial piece of rock that he inmediatly forgot the next day

his best friends in the group were gale, wyll and shadowheart, especially gale, since he was the most cheeky and funny out of the group.when they arrived at baldurs gate gale gets the idea of getting the crown of karsus and have the powers of a god,he told his idea to george, someone who already had a rising interest in obtaining power,it was like throwing fuel on a fire, soon they start scheming a plan of how to get the crown and used it without dying.

but when gale meet with mystra sometime later he changes his mind and decides that he should give the crown to mystra, but george doesnt understand him, george thinks that he sees no reason to give away a power so strong that it will allow them to become gods, all for 2 grade pussy (his words not mine) that put an orb on him and wanted him to kill himself to solve her problems, george wanted the crown.

this put an unfixable hole in their friendship that would never heal

In the endgame george appears as a total different person that when he begon his adventure, george at the start seems like a guy that would destroy the brain and liberate the world from that awful evil and he had liberated orpheus.

but george at the end couldnt care less about the githyanqui,he even started discriminating them for all the trouble theyve caused him, calling them brainless brutes,of course he never said this in front of laezel, becaus he doesnt has the balls to say it,george without his strenght or power, inside of him is just some coward that takes advantage of those with less power for personal joy or some kind of bigger reward.at the end of the day george is the same person that he was at the beggining, only that with more power.

so at the very end george after defeating the elder brain wants to take advantage of the brain, take its power and wipe out the githyanqui, but after learning that he will lose his conscience,he decides to destroy the elder brain, and even though he saving baldurs gate and the world itself, his friends dont really trust him anymore after all they have seen and prefer to put distance with him for sometime.

in the end george even though powerfull and sucesfull,he was all alone, his friends had abandoned him,he didnt want to see his family, all he ended with was fame, power and fake people arround him,he regreted the way he treated his family and friends and he wishes thah everything went back together, but his wish may never come true, because anything that comes into his hands,he destroys.

overall character arc of george:

in act 1 george good side its shown and does a really good first impression on his collegues

in act 2 george still shows the kindness side, but it is begging to crack, his uglyness starts to show

george change was gradual but in act 3 thats when the big change happens, where george finally shows who he really is

its not perfect but i think im happy how i roleplayed.

Even though flawed, extremely good all arounder crpg

Information:Completed the game on tactician on 163 hours,my team was made of:
George (my character) 2 Paladin 5 Sorcerer Wild Magic 5 Fighter Eldtrich Knight
Gale 11 Sorcerer 1 Wizard
Wyll 3 Rogue 1 Wizard 2 Fighter 6 Bard College Of Swords
Shadowheart 5 Storm Sorcerer 7 Tempest Cleric

also i will be comparing this game to dos2 a lot because a lot of what i said for that game apllies for this one

Gameplay | 7,5-8/10
Sure i could bitch and moan about how this game has much worse gameplay than dos2 (it does by the way) but actually the gameplay is enjoyable, sure it is repetitive using just your best spells and spaming them but there stil is the amazing positioning of dos2 and this game does have a lot of ways to be played in the battlefield,it still has a lot less customization than dos2 but you can still do any class combination you like

You still have the surfaces, the thousands of spells, the battlefield positioning, the classes, the equipment, you have a lot of the greatness of dos2,but the tactics aspect on the game is just kinda off for me,i dont feel smart playing it,i just kinda spam things and i win,i do basically the same things on all battles.
send my melee character to the frontlines for single target damage the big health enemies or to kill multiple medium health enemies,he is the most important piece of the team.

i send my cleric sorcerer to be the kinda in between the melee and the ranged units, she CC damage the enemies and heals my party and can melee too when its necesarry with polearm and sentinel also she uses this too not letting the enemies get close to the ranged units

I send my archer bard to the backlines to help the melee character kill the big enemies or he kills one medium sized enemy best case scenery, his other job is to use illusion spells or to you guessed it use CC damage spells

and for last i send my sorcerer to the backlines, his only job is to use damage spells on enemies, mostly CC damage spells,he is along with my melee character the most important piece of the team

Im not saying the game doesnt have ways of being creative in combat, but the difficulty of the game doesnt forces me or encourage me to be more creative

The difficulty even though ideal for newcomers to crpgs, for a person who has already played tactics games like fft or dos2 this game is a fucking breeze, even on tactician this game is way too easy,a lot of this is due to cc spells being so busted, that does bring down the score of the gameplay a litle bit

Aesthetics/Graphics | 6,5-7/10
Even though this game looks good,it doesnt has any particular aesthetic, its just kinda looks good

Sound | 5,5/10
Not really like the music on this game,i dont know i feel like they could have made a lot better than boring generic grand fantasy music.

Story:Main Quest/Characters/Lore | 7,5/10 improved from dos2,this game actually has not cringy dialogue, more consistently good companions and just more interesting story overall

Firstly i want to talk about the presentation of the story,it adapts a bioware like presentation, more cinemetic, and it
really works, everything feels more epic and memorable.

The main quest its epic, and i think its works better than in dos2,why?,because of its presentation and its dynamics, first the presentation, its really helps that it feels like a movie or tv series it is that much entertaining, and is more dynamic because there is just more going on,its not just two factions, its a full own war for control of the elder brain.

The characters are nuance and likeable,i like all the companions and most of the characters,in terms of companions my fav is gale, but i like all of them almost equally, larian did a really good job making all character interesting and likeable

The lore i think it does a good job at making their world feel bigger than you, with the amount of lore than npcs say and the amount of books that are is easily to get overwhelmed, and that is the point,to overwhelm you with lore (mostly interesting) so that you feel the grandness of the world

Content | 10/10
Fuckton, and i say fuckton of things to do,and of quality too, every quest feels well made, they have a lot of dialogue options, they change depending on your characters tag and they have a lot of ways to be completed it.

also they are well distributed through the 3 acts, the 3 acts are each full of content almost equally

Replayability | 10/10
I mean i kinda already explain why this game has so good replayability, lots of races, lots of classes, lots of dialogue options, lots of different way of doing things, lots of different armor,of companions,in every department this game is made to be replayable,it maybe the best thing this game does along with the content.

All this make that every different save allows you to roleplay for a lot of different characters

Playability | 0/3
Might be the single most busted game i ever played, runs like shit, has fuckton of bugs, sequence breaks, etc, and i play busted games but this one has to take the cake

Ending | 7/10
i know a lot of people hate the ending of the game, but i think is fine, even good,i especially like the characters ending,a lot of people hated that they werent conclusive enough but i liked that, after all they are just living their lives 6 months later after the events of the game, its cute to see what they are up (at least on my savefile)

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ OVERALL
It might sound a little crazy because of the crazy high score im giving the game, but im a little dissapointed, the creators of one of my favorites games ever made a sequel to a long past classic and is considered (at least by this website) top 5 games ever,of course my expectations were through the roof.
and in some areas they were meet, but in others they werent.
this game obviously plays to a lot of the things i like,so even though i do give the game a lot of shit i still love it

9/10

might just be the single game with the worst influence in the gaming industry ever, this game brought the horrible 1 shot tactical multiplayer fps to the mainstream (even though the genre was already popular due to previous releases but this one brought it to the WIDE masses) and ruin a whole generation of multiplayer fps,the sieges, the valorants, all that shit because of the popularity of this game, that it still baffles me today how this fucking game is so popular, also the game is way worse than 1.6 because of its snail pace and even higher ttk

This review contains spoilers

clive commited literally the biggest genocide ever, killing at least 8000 people, earning him god knows how many life sentences and most certaintly execution and my man layton talking about seeing him again

challenging puzzle game with a fun,but sad, little story

Genre : Puzzle/Detective Game

Gameplay | 13/16
This game gameplay is purely based on puzzles, like most detective games, and against what i though it was going to be,this game is hard, like really hard,i had to cheat for atleast 15 puzzles, and most of the time they are fun and doesnt feel like they are cheating, also the memo feature that you have is greatly helps your brain with the problems,i also like the hint

Sound | 7/8
Amazing,Amazing soundtrack, and the songs are classy, calming and when it needs to be,emotional,i especially love the screen title song and the credits song

Aesthetics/Graphics | 8-8,25/10
i dont really need to say a lot about the aesthetics of the game, just seeing it for a minute you get the appeal, they are absurd, extreme and diverse, they are all hand drawn and it gives it charm, and they all (mostly) just look cute

Story/Characters/Writing | 16/20
Fun,innocent dialogue, fairly interesting characters with their own little personality and story full of twists that keep it interesting, but because of the like 200 puzzles inserted in the story the pacing is a little off, like every 5 minutes you will get a puzzle

i especially love the dynamic between luke and layton, this kinda father son relationship, they go through a lot but they are a lot of fun together,i also really like other characters like don paolo and future luke

Side Content | 8/10
You get a lot of extra people to talk to and extra puzzles in this game, like i think more than 100 of the puzzles are extra in this game,so yeah there is a lot to do and it is fun, because, extremely hard puzzles are fun,at least for me

Replayability | 1,5/3
Not much reason to replay it,but that is not really what im looking for in a detective puzzle game, since with the mysteries that this kind of game have, you knowing them will make the experience less shoking and more boring

Playability 3/3
works fine, none a single bug or issue in my playthrough

Ending | 9/10 SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Wow,just beautifull stuff, didnt know prof layton stories had such sentimental themes, the way he reacted to claire leaving was really human,he didnt want her to go and start crying from the frustration and sadness that even though she is alive he cant see her anymore because of not altering time, and when he cries and takes of his hat, that is a really emotional scene,i also like the scene with luke having to go because his parents were moving,it was bittersweet, its sad but they will eventually comeback for more adventures

Overall
Fun game with difficult puzzles and an sentimental story with fun dialogue, cant ask much more out of a layton game, only maybe the pace in the story miss up a litle bit,but the rest is great

8 out of 10
