My favorite fighting move from a video game is the lightsaber throw from the 2005 Star Wars Battlefront II and I’m so glad that someone had the decency to base the combat in their AAA game around it

This is my first God of War game because my parents disapproved of all the raw doggin’ in the original games

My quarter-life-crisis was buying the Timothee Chalamet Paul Atreides skin for $20 so I could have something to play with online when I play with my friends

No matter the version, no matter the control scheme, no matter the graphics, I WILL step in every single bear trap

I thought Dunkey was exaggerating but Bowser’s Fury is now one of my favorite things I’ve ever played

Scratches my Odyssey itch while also supplying me with the cat content I desperately need 🐱 🐱 🐱

This is probably the best/my favorite 2D Mario ever made but the mechanism of who the camera focuses on is kinda annoying and making me a Grinch on Christmas

Like please just keep the camera on me while I try to get the power-ups and not player 2 who’s trying to run to the end 🙄😬

2016

There are moments that I think are honestly better than Eternal but then I’ll fall off a cliff while exploring and have to go back to a checkpoint which then discourages me from exploring and then I’m like “…Eternal was pretty based, wasn’t it?”

This is the fastest I’ve ever regretted buying a video game

I think I hate Crash Bandicoot, and while I completely understand its because I’m bad at the game(s) it doesn’t stop me from hating this series

One star for the art direction because it looks gorgeous

One of the bosses made me laugh out loud but then soon after I got soft locked and lost an hour of progress

SPOILERS if you care about spoilers for this but when you first meet the unicorn and go to the candy land area you can get stuck between falling blow pops

I really should have saved before heading back into the tavern but lol this ruined my night and made me binge on jelly beans and cheap tv dinners irl so there’s that

I got this as part of a Cyber Monday sale so that I could finally play Zombies again and reminisce on a time when I had friends instead of coworkers and report cards instead of a credit score

The rest is pretty barebones and repetitive but at least playing Kino der Toten again made me have an existential crisis

Hogwarts: Fallen Order is full of callbacks to the books and early video games that make me smile, but the most enjoyment I’ve gotten out of this so far is definitely laughing at how creepy and borderline inappropriate the player character’s relationship with Professor Fig must seem to literally everyone else in the game

Some of the Shinespark puzzles and early blaster-wielding Chozo soldier bosses might make me curse like a sailor, but they don’t take away from the fact that this is one of the best video games ever made

I love it to DEATH

Seriously considering dropping this because of the Woodpecker Trial, specifically the one where you have to bounce on all the enemies in the room

Literally one of the most frustrating and impossible things I’ve ever done in any video game I’ve ever played, the hardware/controls were not designed for movement like this

I have no jokes and am feeling so defeated I don’t even have a score in mind

I’m not usually a fan of beat-em-ups but I am a fan of Scott Pilgrim so I gave this a try and it’s pretty fun!

That being said, whoever decided that objects you throw can bounce off of things/people and come back to damage you (sometimes multiple times/stunlocking you) will not be receiving the Power of Love or the Power of Self-Respect

Nemesis is the most relatable character in the RE franchise

Dude was laser-focused on tryna rizz up Jill Valentine, bioweapon-style

This game is so buggy that it feels like I’m a play tester sometimes, but Screwball hasn’t shown up and there’s a decent chance Kraven killed her so this game is peak
