I'm currently working on a review of this for Cubed3, so I'm going to keep it brief: Chocobo GP has all of the needed parts to make a good kart racer—solid controls, cute characters, a nice budget—but it it fumbles them so hard that you can't help but feel sad.

C'mon. Y'all know that I love FF7R, and this port only makes it better. 60 FPS combat is amazing, Yuffie's story is really cute, and, between the improved visuals and photo mode, now is a better time than ever to love Aerith and Tifa. Heh.

I'll admit, Return to Dream Land might have dethroned this one as my new favorite! But even so, Robobot armor is by far the best modern Kirby gimmick, and while some of the other sections stand out a bit less, the highs are still EXCEPTIONALLY high.

While the 2.5D elements fit Kirby's level design really well, Hypernova is still a boring gimmick and the Taranza/Sectonia stuff is undercooked. It's definitely fun, but when sandwiched between the two best Kirby games, it ends up falling a bit flat.

I was expecting this to just be a prototype to the 3DS games, so I was pleasantly surprised when it was actually very distinct! The polished level design and controls are sweet enough already, but the new mechanics really made it stand out more.

After a year of on/off play, I've finally finished the first campaign of FF14! As slow and tedious as 2.0 can be—it took me a year to beat for a reason—the combat, world, and ability to be a catgirl won me over. Bring on Heavensward!

I wasn't sure if I should count this since I was technically speedrunning it, but fuck it, I need an excuse to mention that this is my favorite 2D Mario. None of the others come even close to this one's smooth, adventurous vibe. It's basically perfect?

I wasn't originally going to replay this, but after an impromptu co-op run, I feel… about the same as I did before! Of course, it's extremely memorable and the production values for the time are impressive, but it's not necessarily 'peak Kirby' for me.

Yeah, I'm starting to see why I never hear anyone talk about these two games. The level design is... bad? Like, genuinely full of bizarre decisions? The visuals, music, and occasional QoL improvements are nice, but as a complete package, it's a hot mess.

What an odd, transitional chapter in Kirby's history. It looks like Dream Land but plays like Adventure. The animal friends are clear progenitors to future 'powered-up copy' mechanics. In that respect, it's a neat throwback, if not a somewhat boring one.

With Kirby turning 30, now is a better time than ever to check out more of his history! Going back to the first console entry, it's neat to see how quickly they found the formula. Despite limitations, the gameplay still feels snappy and fresh, even in 2022.

Once again, despite being a pretty big Portal fan, I never actually had a chance to play the multiplayer until now! As expected, it has the same ingenious design and dark humor that I play these games for, but now with two people. What's not to love?

I never thought I'd say it, but... not having lives in this was a misstep. Don't get me wrong, I had fun! Infinite lives were a gift in Story Mode. It's just... with no classic, replayable arcade option, I don't see myself returning too often.

It's a rhythm game, with Kingdom Hearts music. At a base level, I was always going to at least like this game... and while I did have minor quibbles with the story and visual design, I can now safely say that I loved my time with it.
