what an awesome game!! this is really one of those games thats hard for me to review cause i feel like anything i disliked was just me being bad at it lol

when i first heard of the concept i knew itd be harder for me since im not amazing at point and click puzzles, but id say i probably did the first half of this game without a guide, and it really was not too easy but not too hard. it doesnt hold your hand but doesnt let you feel lost. theres optional dialogue if you want a little more, which i thought was amazing since ace attorney games have extra forced dialogue to hold your hand. i dont have much to say about the actual ability, i think i wouldve enjoyed it way more if it was not timed, but even then it isnt bad at all.
the game has lots of twists and turns in the plot, which is something of course capcom does amazing with in these kinds of games, you just have to be prepared for a million different plot points and a lot of humor. it may be an acquired taste, but it is so good. there were some things that confused me, but they eventually tied into everything. there was one plot twist i predicted, but even if you get a general prediction, it is so hard to predict how it ties into everything and stuff. they literally just throw shit at u, its amazing.

highly recommend this game if u liked ace attorney

i played this one with a friend, and we got like 12 hours in and we still arent finished. honestly, theres a lot here that kinda went wrong. it takes a lot for me to not finish a game, and every time i put this one down ive struggled to pick it back up. it opens up with a really enticing story, layered between a good amount of combat and puzzles. more information added to the story felt like a just reward for completing some part of the gameplay. then, the entire story just falls off and it becomes a pure puzzle game. it did so well at first with keeping the audience wondering what will happen next, and trying to get through the gameplay bits to find out. then, halfway through, its literally just "complete this super challenging puzzle to get 2 piece of dialogue that add nothing, then you get another complicated puzzle. i hate to critique games before i finish them, but its getting to the point where over half this game was a slog, and thats worth noting.

the friend who i played this with is BIG on stealth. she LOVES stealth, and man this game was disappointing for her too. i personally hate when stealth isnt a choice but a requirement, like ok ill try to stealth as many enemies as i can but if they spot me its fine ill just engage in combat. i get that they were trying to set the tone, i do, but man it was not fun. even in parts where enemies were running at you and you have to throw the rock in time, theyd move slightly and youd already miss their head and get one shot killed. i guess i just want an alternative or last minute solution to getting one shot killed. like can amicia really not do ANYTHING close up? are rocks her ONLY solution? she is smart, can she not use their sword or something? in moments like these, which are rare, but still in the game, there is literally 1 way to kill enemies, and if you mess up at all you have to restart. i think the parts with the rats i enjoyed more, even if it wasnt insanely realistic. they lost me with the human conflict.

overall, this game is just lacking. it feels like they will eventually add more but then youre almost done with the game. there hasnt been enough development, story, or combat added. i get that its trying to be unique, but i just cant get in the groove of it. other games take risks and do it so well you dont even miss what you dont have, this game made me miss everything it took out for the purpose of immersion.

maybe ill finish it later

absolutely phenomenal game... was thinking about the rating and realized there really is nothing about this game that stands out as bad. it was just a great experience.

with all my marvel game reviews i start by prefacing that ive never seen any movies-- so this is coming from someone who is learning the plot and characters through the game. with that being said-- i absolutely love the story here, and the development for miles and peter-- well actually all the characters. i just love how vulnerable they made peter, especially one moment in the very last mission. it made his character so likable. his relationship with harry, mj, and miles were so real and satisfying to watch, even the conflicts. i cant really get into a lot of it without spoiling, so i digress.

the side mission were AWESOME. my second biggest complaint in miles morales was the fact that the side missions werent appealing, so i never wanted to do them. i dont really remember what they were, but i know that they nailed it in this game. i stopped to do any side mission i saw, and i think my completion was about 60%. i would do even more if i wasnt so busy with school and so many other games on my radar. i barely had time to sit down and play the main story, so i focused on that. but with some free time id absolutely try to get more completion w this game. loved the side stories, and the missions that were icons on the map.

the combat was as fun as ever, i felt like the battles were VERY fair. i played on amazing difficulty, and changed it to the easy one during one boss that literally had like 5 stages cause i got annoyed. that is my ONE complaint, that some bosses had a bit too many phases. i dont mind 2 or even 3, but the average boss had what felt like 5. it got to a point where it was not really satisfying to fight bosses cause i knew they wouldnt die in the first round. i just wish it wasnt this way for EVERY minor and major boss. it got really tedious and honestly unrealistic. id rather one LONG health bar than multiple phases. in terms of difficulty, they were not too easy but not too hard once you understand the moveset. a general compliment i have for spiderman games is how custom you can make the playing experience. you can really almost play however you want, utilize however many skills you want and youre still able to win. you dont really have to use a feature if you dont want you (at least on lower difficulties)

I loved some missions being for miles and some for peter, the game felt like such a fair balance of the two's stories, and even when it leaned more in one guy's direction it acknowledged it, i felt like i got a good amount of content for everyone honestly

I did want to point out though, that the addition of gliding kind of sucked. first of all, even inverting the controls made it confusing to control. when you had to follow the drones in a certain way i just could not stay in line. this aside i just hated the addition in total. its cool, but extremely unfitting for spiderman. isnt his whole thing that he gets around by web slinging? and he manages just fine? isnt that what makes him so cool? if we just gave superheroes every ability then why would we have so many. i wish it wasnt necessary for so many parts, cause spiderman being able to fly feels too powerful

the mj missions werent dreadful! i actually enjoyed them! i got a little scared when it started getting complicated, but i think they realized it works better that theyre complex than not. i absolutely hated the mj missions in 2018

absolutely blown away by this. i had kinda lost interest in spiderman, but this quickly got me back into it.

gonne be honest its been a minute so if stuff is wrong in this review just ignore it. i went into this game mildly excited. i didnt really enjoy ff games too much before but ive only played 7r and 15. after like 5 hours of this game i was really invested, and pleasantly surprised. at one point i even said it could be in my top 5 games. thats because the plot in the beginning is actually so good and interesting. then the game slows down.

i kinda hate that a literal thought i had was "i think this game needs to slow down a little" cause once it slowed down, it never picked up the speed again. the slow moments are miserable and forced. i think the game paces itself really miserably. id rather it threw a bunch of shit at me than this. it was just doing so good at first, then it lost me when even the exciting plot points seemed to drag on slowly. idk how i even finished it, but i hate not finishing games

the characters were good, but along with how someone pointed out that the plot turned into a super basic jrpg plot and dismissed all the elements that made it stand out (amazing point btw), it also had pretty run of the mill characters. started off great but to me the development wasnt there enough.

the combat was really fun at first and i enjoyed it a lot. personally, the combat getting repetitive was not something that bugged me but i can definitely identify it as an issue others would have. it tries its best to be unique but falls flat. i dont know if i was just doing it wrong, but towards the end i was just spamming every single big attack with no rhyme or reason. it didnt feel like the game GAVE me the opportunity to be strategic, though. you know? i mean obviously players can choose to strategize however they want, but i like being forced to. here it just seemed like you can spam whatever you want and win the battle. not that it was necessarily easy, i would not say that at all, but more that the battles lacked opportunity for forced tactic. you were never really shoved in a corner and forced to strategize. which id expect even on easy mode

This review contains spoilers

this game was truthfully kinda like that image of spongebob and patrick on that kids rollercoaster where theres a slight bump. thats how id describe this games plot twists. idek if i have it in me to write a long review, cause theres just so much i dont even know how to begin to cover.
i wanted to like this game so badly cuz i LOVE detective games, i love rockstar games, and i love games set in different time periods. but yeesh. this was a disappointment. most of my reviews are spoiler free but i cant help but talk about the specific disappointments this game had.

1. the excitement of the cases, or lack thereof. i feel like this game wouldve worked better ace attorney style, where theres such dramatic plot twists that you couldnt have predicted it in a million years. i thought the emptiness of some cases and the dissatisfaction at the end would have some greater meaning, but it didnt. and dont give me that "well thats life" "its realistic" shit. i dont hop on a detective game for reality, i hop on for drama, plot twists, etc. wtf was this boring shit? i had to charge like 5 people i KNEW werent the culprit? i mean thats fine if there was some bigger reason in the end but there was not. and the "big criminals" that were revealed were not gasp worthy whatsoever. not even eyebrow raising. just anticlimactic

2. terrible plot points??? what in the fuck were they thinking with that elsa plot point bro. i had to look through the internet to see if ANYONE could justify why they wrote that, why cole didnt defend himself, what purpose it even served for the plot. everyone is just as confused as i am. and i get it, it was to drive home the point that cole is an awful person who may never get redemption for his actions. it just felt ooc for him. every bad action he made felt ooc. they didnt really nail down how they wanted players to feel about him. he was just all over the place. side note: i for real thought he didnt sleep with elsa but was being framed/ had a bigger goal. but when he didnt defend himself to his wife i was like ohh so its just a shit plot point. so much potential

3. i know rockstar loves killing protagonists and ykw if its well done im all for it! but this was so anticlimactic and lame, cause how do u expect us to care when u made cole such an asshole? again, HOW DO THEY WANT US TO FEEL ABT COLE????? switching perspectives wasnt as cool as in other rockstar games, also. idk, blank face the whole time

4. small things. game was too long, sometimes not a clear indication of what the right answer was, if any indication, characters were hard to distinguish (not even appearance wise, but they were all so similar in regards to personality), cases were mostly boring except a few that were p good. id say they peaked with homicide and arson. everything else was boring. cole never developed a relationship with any of his partners. again idc about "realism", its a game, a piece of fiction, and its missing necessary points that are needed for engagement.

i played this game in pretty spaced out intervals, so im definitely gonna forget a lot of things in my review. i did think the first half of this game was a lot better for the second, and i have no idea how it turned out that way. it started out so promising with a good level of difficulty and strategy. then the second half hits and theyre throwing 30 enemies at you with limited ammo and shit weapons. and the puzzles also become really odd and confusing. i think tomb raider just works best when the bow is your main weapon, because for some reason the guns are all horrible to use, even when upgraded. towards the end you pretty much only get to use guns, i lowered my difficulty and i still struggled because they literally give you like 3 bullets at a time. but you can have an endless supply of arrows!

the story was alright. better than the first game, more tolerable acting. not great but tolerable. the last couple scenes felt so out of nowhere and rushed somehow, but that aside everything in the middle felt like better story development, and better acting and better character build up. especially jacobs story line. story felt the perfect length. it wasnt the best thing in the world, but at least a big step up which gives me hope for the third game.

now the last battle is a whole separate thing. without spoiling who it is or how it goes, they want to promote you to use a certain mechanic of the game to kill the person, and they will not let you attack them another way. fine, ive seen a lot of games do this and do it well. even if its a feature i hate, i understand. the issue was that i was able to attack the person another way, but they didnt take damage, so it was almost a blatant glitch in the game. your instinct would be to just run up and attack them which i did for about 5 minutes before realizing they werent taking any damage and i needed to do it another way. poor battle design if im being honest.

overall, excited to see what story the third game brings and hopefully it polishes some things that were wrong in this one.

like many others, i have to say this game had potential, but i think its overrated as hell. i would love to give it the fact that i played this game with a friend and we were laughing at it a lot, but we literally tried so hard to take it seriously and really crack down on understanding the story and lore.

i will say, im more disappointed in the fact that this game was wasted potential than the alone fact that i didnt enjoy it. when i started it, i really found nothing about it too interesting. they overcomplicated the lore and kept throwing subtle "we'll explain later"'s at the audience in the span of like 2 hours. once again the concept of aloy and rost was interesting, but not developed well at all. her being an outsider was swept aside as bigger problems arose, not giving this plot point proper attention. then, when we got into the nitty gritty of the story, they kept adding more and more concept and shit into the already complex lore. heres the thing: no one is going to remember all that. id say if the game is supposed to be rather grounded, 10 unique definitions should be MAX. they created what feels like 50 concepts that players arent ever going to be familiar enough with, and then if you arent immediately comprehending them, you wont understand the story. this frustrated me so much. especially when we start to learn more about elisabet sobeck, i actually was SO intrigued by the concept that they came up with (not to spoil what it is) this was truly something id love to see a game explore. the issue was that this game did not explore it at all, it was explained through long interactions with characters while they have no facial expressions. its all so cheap, and does too much telling and not enough showing. but where they DO a lot of showing is in parts i literally did not even care about. parts that were too complicated for this games own good. this was honesty so frustrating to watch. it felt like a 12 year old made it. again, the frustrating part was how much wasted potential it was ; truly.

the combat was alright. it got better and more enjoyable the more i got used to it, but it did lack variance. i wish they found ways to implement more variety. the world also felt frustrating, but maybe its because generally when i play open world games i enjoy being able to roam around with little to no threat. this game had a threat at every corner. god forbid i ride around for 2 minutes without getting a swarm of machines on me. im not always in the mood to kill everything or sneak around!! also god forbid i actually get to keep a ride rather than having to override a new one all the time.

the general interface of the game wasnt amazing either. having a fast travel pack makes sense but fast travel isnt really supposed to be a luxury in this game? open world games normally do it two ways: either fast travel is easily accessible, and missions take you very far on the map, or fast travel ISNT accessible but story missions dont have you travel too far. this game literally made it so that you travel to the other end of the map for missions, and fast travel requires you to hunt ANIMALS, not machines, to create. literally what is the point? there were other flaws that i rarely see in games too, but i dont remember them all rn.

overall, this game was so much wasted potential. the concept was actually so interesting it was more frustrating how much they ruined it, than if they had a bad concept to begin with. once they started with the backstory, i wanted to love this game so badly, and for it to pick up. i really honestly and truthfully do not recommend this game. i will still play the sequel and see if it is any better, though.

my friend and i went in completely blind with NO spoilers (idk how) and wow i can say this game was an awesome experience! obviously weve established that re games have a different scale than most. compared to other story games, re is not great. but for the series, i think 4 was amazing! i have never played the original, so i cant rate how good it was remade; ill just review what i thought about it.

im just gonna start off with the gameplay. it was super fun, not too hard but not too easy. the puzzles did drag towards the end, but oh well. i think the first half of the game was super fun and i had a hard time getting off the game because of how fun it was. the map was alright, a little too big for my taste but still good.
the characters were pretty solid. i didnt really enjoy ashley though. i know shes a fan favorite, but i just couldnt enjoy helping her and how helpless she was the whole time. i enjoy leon with companions like claire or helena so much more. luis and ada were great characters who had a good connection to the story though! id love to see a resident evil game with more than like 4 important characters, but i know it probably wont happen.
the story was, well, a resident evil story. it had enough plot points for me to not get bored, but still nothing mind blowing. its very campy, and you cant go into it expecting a masterpiece. if you go in with the right expectations, you will be happy! and ive learned to do that now with how many re games ive played.

okay so ive already started a bit of the second game in this series, so a lot of the complaints i had, i already know get better. i went into tomb raider craving what uncharted had. i was pleasantly satisfied that the combat and puzzle solving was just as fun! i honestly think the combat was more fun, but it did not have as much parkour or puzzle solving. the puzzles were more logic based than based in any sort of journal, which i actually kinda prefer. all but the first one were pretty fair in my view, even if some were a bit tricky at first.

now onto my first specific complaint, i dont think this game had a great opening. the first puzzle is genuinely so confusing it drove me away from the game for so long. i had to look it up, and i was like damn theres no way i wouldve ever figured that out. that is kinda ridiculous for so early in the game. i thought all the puzzles would be like this, but nope.
another complaint i had was that the voice acting just isnt great, and very distracting. laras screams and grunts are just too animated and repetitive, that it got annoying. none of the characters really had great voice acting, though. at least in my opinion. the plot being lackluster is kind of expected because the super fun and strategic gameplay make up for it, (although it couldve been sm better!) but i do draw the line at bad dialogue and plot points. i was pretty much anticipating death after death and none of it really fazed me. this couldve been fixed with a slower story, and better, more drawn out dialogue. but yk, i had fun so who cares

other things i didnt enjoy was just how clunky everything felt. picking up some artifact didnt feel smooth at all. it opened a million menus and check lists i had to close out of. in uncharted, he just picked it up and you had the option of expanding the info. tomb raider needs to not assume the player is super interested in all that stuff, bc it just takes me out of the game when i have to hit escape 30 times bc i dont care!! i just wanna jump from things and shoot!

anyways, overall i hope to see more plot in the series and just some better dialogue! otherwise, i had a lot of fun and would replay just for the combat alone. finally a game that has a cool bow

I think this is my favorite resident evil game that ive played. it had a really easy to understand and not at all complicated story line (unlike other, more recent, games) and it had interesting characters. the story was lacking a bit but that can literally be said about any re game. i think re2 stands out because it isnt overly complicated. its just a zombie game where you follow the characters survival and fight creatures. the build up of the villains were pretty good, too.

the gameplay is my absolute favorite of any re games ive played. it had such fun strategizing, and the perfect amount of difficulty. the sections with mr x didnt drag and were the perfect length. the suspense was built up so well and not overdone at all. im not great with horror so i played this with a friend, but if i was someone who was super into horror stuff i would absolutely love how balanced it was. the puzzles were a bit frustrating at times but most of the time they were well implemented.

anyways not much else to say about it. i havent played the og so i cant rate how good the remake was. i have to say its the resident evil i enjoyed the most. i wish theyd make more simple games like this, id enjoy it a lot more

after playing like 150 hours of online, i decided it was finally time to give the gta story a shot. i have a hard time reviewing older entries in series, cause theres a lot of issues in gta that were polished in rdr2, which means theyll probably carry over that way to gta6. so theres a lot of stuff im gonna leave out of this review just because of how old this game is and how rockstar is definitely gonna fix a lot of those things.
i did want to talk about the story and the missions/ gameplay tho.

the story was alright. i know they werent planning on making gta have as heavy of a story as rdr, but i feel like this story had such a cool concept that couldve been so much better! there were a lot of plot points that were genuinely so well thought out and impressive, but the actual scene itself fell flat. i think putting more soul into this story would actually make it a better one. some moments towards the end were almost so cool, but they just missed the mark. they couldve done so much more with the three guys' relationship. i know they did quite a bit, but there was so much more to explore that just never got explored. franklin was done the most dirty. he couldve had so much more depth than he did. im glad they included lamar here and there, but they really shouldve given him more depth so that the ending was cooler. michael and trevor were pretty fleshed out and i like the difficulty in moralizing michael, while slowly learning more and more of the truth. again, couldve been polished, but overall better than what franklin was given. f shouldve been his own character rather than just a device for trevor and michael. or a buffer of sorts. it just frustrated me so much.
the last decision tho was so fire. the way it was executed was meh, but the concept of it was actually pretty great.

now, the gameplay was alright. i dont wanna get too much into it because again, rdr has more polished gameplay which means the only reason gta5 is like this is its age. the thing is though the aircraft and swimming mechanics were a pain in the ass. the fun parts of the gameplay was when you could choose whose perspective to play as. that, and generally lesters heists were the most fun. everything else felt like a chore. the side quests did nothing for the characters, and i get they were trying to be funny but it just demotivated me to do them. i think i got around 60% completion when i finished the story, and i do NOT wanna go back and do more.

glad i finally got to finish a classic though!

for its time, this game looks super good! and the mechanics dont feel as clunky and outdated as other games that came out around this time. i got to act 3 chapter 2 (out of 5 acts, 6/7 chapters each, so not bad) and honestly had a good time. the combat was fun, characters were cool. story was alright. not bad but also not super gripping (i heard good things so i wanted to hear it out)
when i got to the point i said i got to, i died once, and that was totally my fault. then i failed the mission by, i dont know,i think running too far from my team members? it wasnt very specific. since those two "fails" were so close together, it wouldnt let me restart my checkpoint, only restart the entire chapter. this was so annoying as i put so much time into this game. i hadnt even died much beforehand, so i guess the rule was that you could only restart your checkpoint twice. for a game that seems ahead of its time, this is such a shitty mechanic. i cant even blame it on how old it is, as other games just as old dont have unfair mechanics like this. im used to checkpoints that are too far apart, but having a set amount of times you can respawn is ridiculous. how was i supposed to know i was running too far from my group? it made me lose motivation to play it, as im scared itll happen again. it sucks because it was actually such a cool game, and id love to finish it! but maybe in a while when i dont have other, more fair games to play first.

im honestly very conflicted on this game. ill try to make this review short since i dont really feel like i have the right to speak on resident evil stuff. i played this game on the couch with a friend and i found it actually really fun to be scared all the time. unfortunately, even as someone super sensitive to scary things, there were only a few moments in this game that were genuinely jumpscare-y. i actually prefer resident evil to focus on more ominous vibes and jumpscare type things over how gross 7 was, but this game felt like very little of both.
now the puzzles, eh. some were very fun. i liked when youd just be in a room with one main thing and try to figure it out. it gave you so little of options that it was actually fun for me and my friend to figure it out. i hated when thered be puzzle like things in the village, though. the issue with that was there was no minimap so wed constantly have to open and close the map. there were also indications on the map that theres a way to get from point a to point b and when you actually get there, its blocked off. so annoying. and generally it just wasnt very fun to have this entire map to figure something out. basically i liked the smaller puzzles rather than trying to figure out what the hell to do in the village.
now onto like combat/ boss battles, they were about as good as they could be! we never really complained about anything. i think resident evil pretty much polished their combat. the bosses were fun to do but not too hard. the final boss was a little underwhelming in terms of how you win, though.
okay now story, i did watch the summary for 7 as i never finished it, but man this did not really make me wanna play it. at first i did complain that this game was so vague about everything and keeps saying "ill explain later" and never does, but it all actually turned out pretty good at the end. i know resident evil was never a story driven game, so ill give them the benefit of the doubt. however the ending of this couldve respected players dedication a bit more if that makes sense. they couldve done a bit more with what they had. but i do respect them for trying to expand the plot rather than just continue to be vague. thats honestly whats holding this review up.
the reason i take off honestly an entire star (the other half is just taken off for polishing reasons) is because THIS GAME WAS SO SHORT. im conflicted because i dont know if i could tolerate this game for 30 hours but i spent $30 on this game and i cant believe some people bought it for $60 and just spent the 9 hours. in the 9 hours that i finished it i pretty much got all the exploration done. there were no side things. so im unsure why it was so expensive. its not something id replay on my own volition. this point honestly irritates me maybe as much as the voice acting in this game which i forgot to point out, is honestly kinda bad. ethans responses and tone of voice most times is so goofy and unrealistic. i mean you can make the argument "dont take this game seriously" but, when i spend so much money on a game + it takes ITSELF seriously, why shouldnt i?

what an awesome game! truly lived up to the hype around it. they started leaning more towards the story based game territory and adding more dialogue, plot, characters etc. and it worked so well! they still included a lot of moments that were smooth and easy, difficult and challenging, and a little of both. im still glad i played the original trilogy, as it helped me care about nate and elena's relationship. and the entire first quarter of the game is a lot of narration and plot twists which again, the trilogy kind of enhanced. i absolutely love how they wrote each of the characters and how they wrapped everything up. there was one loose end that they didnt exactly tie back up but otherwise for the most part they took their time. they didnt end the story until they felt like players would be satisfied and i respect them so much for that! the dlc did felt like it dragged and shouldve ended 4 times before it actually did end. but uncharted 4 was the opposite. it was more like "please dont end here" and it didnt. i feel like coming out of it im happy with everything that happened and all the gameplay mechanics i was able to do. they fixed everything i ever hated in the trilogy. the journey never feels lonely, you always understand their goal rather than it all sounding like a bunch of gibberish, and theres a motivation outside of just greed. it feels very real. it also doesnt try to hard to jump into combat. if it doesnt make sense for there to be combat in an area, then there wont be. i respected this a lot. the first game felt so focused on gameplay that it forgot to let players breathe. i just think uncharted 4 was very caring about players dedication to the series and love for the characters. it felt so rewarding after playing the trilogy. the amount of dedication to make players happy alone makes me love this game. if you enjoyed the trilogy at all, this game is like a big hug.

the dlc is a bit different. im not gonna get super into the specifics that made me upset but i think overall it dragged, there wasnt enough of a motivation, players dont have a reason to really care for the objective, and the puzzles are a bit ridiculous. i had to look one up, and i havent looked up a puzzle since uncharted 2. i wouldve figured it out myself but the dlc was a lot of just "ok can this just be over already". i even went in excited to get more content and i was super hyped to see what it was but somehow it fell so flat. maybe because it feels like dlc rather than another part of the game. it just feels so disconnected somehow and left a bad taste in my mouth. i also hated the open-ness of it. some games work great in open world, some dont. uncharted doesnt. there is no reason it should ever be that open in my opinion. it wouldve at least helped to have a minimap because open world without a minimap is just criminal.

okay so for some background, i watched a friend play 5 a bit and i played a mission here and there, but we switched to 6 where i played most of it but my friend did the stealth missions for me.

i might be kinda speaking on something that wasnt entirely for me, as this series seems like it tries real hard to have more and more of a story with each entry, but all in all its just a combat and gameplay focused series. if you want a heavy story, this isnt really it. i do know that 6 is the heaviest story theyve done in the series, so personally i DO like it more than 5. i liked that the protagonist was an actual character, and that there were consistent cutscenes and reasons for missions rather than just go to x place, kill people, move on. (although it did still happen sometimes like this in this game). so it upgraded there, but i do still think its so glaringly obvious that the people who wrote the story just arent that experienced in story writing for games. there were some very obvious inconsistencies, and some moments that wouldve been cool but it was either too short of a cutscene (slow down and let the players digest a sad moment! dont just show it for 3 seconds and move back on to combat!), or it was written kinda badly, im sorry. there were some characters who really frustrated me towards the end, and it didnt even feel intentional, it just felt like they didnt know what the hell they were writing. i dont even wanna say "oh the concept was great but the execution was meh" because honestly the concept was meh itself. like i get it, theres a bunch of bad guys on the map you have to kill, but the motivation just gets kinda washed away towards the middle and it feels very rinse and repeat. they couldve spiced it up a bit more and id like it, but again, just felt rinse and repeat. i think the characters were alright, nothing special and i cant say i remembered all of their names by the end. i definitely have more opinions but i dont wanna get in the territory of spoilers so ill leave it here

as for the gameplay itself, eh. it was fun, but honestly kinda frustrating. i mean its hard to find a game out there without at least one frustrating mission, and this one had only a few towards the end, but i think the worst part of the gameplay for me was the stealth. granted i am bad at stealth, this game made it almost impossible for me to complete stealth missions. you have to actively be amazing at stealth to honestly complete the main campaign. i play other games with stealth missions and i manage to get through them but the issue with this game is it overcomplicates the stealth missions to the point where i cant even make a plan half the time bc theres no clear direction. i dont know where im supposed to go, its a big area and everyones talking to someone and theres alarms so i never even know where to start. as for the world itself, its alright. i did kinda like the idea of liberating different areas, and for people who enjoy the premise of the game they can go back and liberate the whole map. i think thats cool. the world is overall a good upgrade from 5.

so, in the end, i am glad i actually got to see what the game was all about after seeing so many mixed reviews. i think its better than 5, but if you care a lot about a games story, this one is just meh. i think they intended on it being a lot better than it actually turned out. i felt more frustrated than sad at times. i thought that was the point at first, but i realize i wa frustrated with the writing more than anything.
