Just incredibly fun and delightful, badges add so much replayability to this as well. Has it's problems, specifically when it comes to the amount of backtracking it asks you to do, but as someone who's played this 5 times through, I obviously don't mind too much.

Every game's movement should be compared to this game's movement. To an extent I wish every game controlled like this.

The perfect speed platformer. Takes a franchise I love and elevates it to heights I would have never imagined.

The problem with this being my first Kirby game is that nearly every Kirby game I've played since has been a let down. Love the large movesets copy abilities have, the different "games" and the amount of variety they offer, the co-op, and the incredible music. Somedays I can't decide whether I like this version or the DS remake more, both are incredible.

Incredibly fun and satisfying to get good at. Does such a good job of encouraging you to do what some players may just assume is too hard for them, that's what I look for the most in "hard" games. Visuals and soundtrack obviously speak for themselves.

Me and my brothers have put an insane amount of hours into City Trial over the years that we've owned this game. Holds an incredibly important place in my heart, and also it's a really fucking good multiplayer game.

Retro did Metroid better than Nintendo. Seriously amazing how well they managed to bring this series and it's style into an FPS. They made it look easy.

Love the entire feeling of this game's world, how hostile and alien everything is, as well as the feeling of eventually understanding the land better and feeling like you're able to take on anything. Structure of the game is very satisfying, leads to that feeling of "just one more day". Everything about this game is the perfect showcase for why I love Gamecube-era Nintendo so much, who else would have thought to make this?

Rivals Super Mario 64 in how incredible the movement is. While it is better than 64 in some places, it also does some stuff that I think keeps it from being as good. But it's still my 2nd favorite 3D platformer, so it doesn't matter too much.

Just an incredibly executed 2D Platformer, and possibly 2D Mario game.

The best metroidvania I've played yet. Incredible music and visuals, absolutely love the graze and magic system, love the stop time mechanics, the different ways you can use your knives and weapons and how that combines with the time mechanics and oh my god the BOSSES. The boss rush in this game is easily the most fun I've had in any game with a boss rush.

It's got almost everything I could ever want from an Animal Crossing, and basically took over my life when I was playing it. Unfortunately did fall into the problem I have with all AC games, where after I stop playing for more than a week the loop totally breaks for me and I feel too guilty to look at my town again so I have to just stop playing the game altogether.

One of the best 3D platformers, gets so much right about the genre, and the items being used by the right stick quickly goes from kind of awkward at first to completely intuitive and genius. I love how different monkeys have whole bios and personalities and names, and how catching each one feels unique from every other. It makes the traditional item collecting of 3D platformer games feel entirely new and exciting. Also the music is some of the best. Cutscenes are corny in a way I can appreciate.

This is kind of a minor thing but I wish it didn't put 100% behind getting gold at every stage's time trial. I just don't like time trials in these kinds of games.

Has some aspects that I think have made it age not as gracefully as Mario 64, but still has a style and attitude that I really enjoy. It's unfortunate the sequel to this game was more focused on just making a "bigger" game rather than improving on an incredibly solid base.
