So this game is almost deserving of 5 stars. It’s close but no cigar and here’s why.
The encounter with Andrew Ryan is one of the finest moments in gaming. It was a great twist, never telegraphed too hard and very impactful.
Why would you ruin all of that good will, hype and drive with one of the worst final boss fights ever. Honestly, thematically the last boss kinda makes sense gameplay wise it’s just rubbish.
The whole game has led up to this moment and you throw away everything. 5 mins of gameplay docked this game the chance to be 5 stars.
Aside from that, a must play. Impactful, iconic and really showed that FPS (yes I know it’s not quite that) games could have meaningful narratives.
Bonus kudos for the environment, satire of Ayn Rand and everything else that makes this so unique. Didn’t even mind half the story telling being stuck behind audio tapes.

I wanted to love this so much. A higher being knows I tried. There isn’t anything wrong with the story other than it being the same plot structure Rockstar has had in games for years.
Gameplay on the other hand… i thought we were passed hold left trigger and tip the right-stick towards the head. Apparently not and it’s losing atleast a star for that.
Aside from that, the game play pace was just too slow for me, trotting everywhere on a horse often felt like a chore more than a cool thing to do.
I applaud how interconnected the world is and all the secrets to discover etc, but unless you really want to spend time exploring the game it is going to feel more empty than it should. The content could of been the same, just less dispersed and it would of been great.
Losing another star for trying to make RDR2 online a thing rather than giving proper DLC.

So the main campaign is worth a playthrough alone. Whether or not it’s worth playing after that is all dependent on whether you enjoy the grindfest of GTA online.
Having said that, I played this for 24 hours straight on release. It’s defo worth an extra half/star but I cannot divorce the multiplayer element from the campaign.
It’s an extension of the main story and therefore removed all prospects of DLC and expansion of the main game that weren’t online only.
This sadly ruined the experience and rating. Not to mention that this game has got the Skyrim treatment being ported across 3 console generations. It’s not really on.
Rockstar could of released multiple games and DLC rather than doubling down on a microtransaction grindfest

I'm going to detatch my clearly biased opinion from this and not give it 5 stars.
It's losing half a star because of the back tracking in the later half of the game being such a let down. Also the pacing around this part of the game is problematic, the first half is packed with so much content and scene setting that it's problematic when the second half just doesn't deliver the same.
It does hold up on a playthrough years later, but you will miss all the quality of life improvements that games had made in the decades since.
A must play for anyone who wants to experience an iconic title that helped to prolong a fantastic series.

Over rated game. Yes dragons / shouts etc are all amazing but this game is just a buggy mess. Combat is rubbish, has no depth and everything boils down to
1. Travel through dungeon
2. Kill stuff in dungeon
3. Unlock secret passage back to the beginning.
It was just lazy copy and paste nonsense for hours and hours on end. I don't understand how we have 20 remasters of this game. It should of been left to die ages ago.

As the second game in the series that I really sunk my time into, it's just leagues better than it's predecessor. This game also isn't cheap or unfair in the way it challenges players.
Everything is a challenge that can be defeated with good fundamentals and game sense. The story is hidden and really only for those who are paying attention to why any of this matters.
Alternate endings are easy to miss and a couple of play throughs is mandatory if you wish to engage in PVP.
Half a star is getting dropped for Twink Builds (Smufs 2.0), connection issues and tiny bits of jank in the online components.

What a fantastic game this is. On a first play through, everything feels like an eureka moment when you finally crack the puzzle.
The physics based system also feels super rewarding when you slingshot your way across a vast space using nothing by gravity to propel you forward.
It was unique, genre defining for First Person puzzle games and had a great story to boot. Always worth a playthrough even possibly at full price.

This was boring and so button mashy. I'm sure there is a good enough game here if you can deal with just spamming the same button for 100s of hours.
Anyone who values their time should not bother, slow to get going and then becomes grindy in the pursuit of better gear.
This may be someone's dream game, especially with the random loot aspects but it isn't enough to keep me pressing 1 button to do everything.

Maybe the last good snow boarding game. Had great locations, insane tricks, visuals and music which all contributed to just shredding a mountain.
It just couldn't be made in the modern day as it would be ruined by microtransactions and predatory monetisation. Always worth a play especially in multiplayer modes.

Played this in the Arcade and on the Wii. Notably, this game is a fun little light gun game. The problem is that the game was never balanced for anyone to actually see the ending.
I'm pretty certain this game can only be completed by using unlimited credits. Some deaths are cheap and in general its arcade roots (and subsequent cash stealing) is too prevalent.
