That Game The Cool Kid At The Arcade Is The Undisputed Master Of

Y'know what I'm talking about. The kinds of fictional games that show up in 80's-90's TV shows and movies, with unreasonably cool names like "Death Wizard" or "TURBOSPHERE", with gameplay completely indicipherable to the average eye. And there's that one kid with shades, a ballcap turned backwards, a jacket and fingerless gloves, who hangs out by the cabinet all day and will show you how to get the high score if you buy him a soda and a candy bar. Those kinds of games. But real. I am open to suggestions.

Thumper and Nex Machina feel like good fits

Turbo Overkill, which is the fastest game I've ever played.

@Silverhand @AlphaOne2 Good recs y'all. Thumper is one I'm kind of surprised I hadn't seen before, it looks rad as hell

this list fucking rocks, i hope my suggestions make sense to this: neo contra, f-zero gx, metal gear rising, marvel vs capcom 3, asuras wrath & maybe no more heroes

@imshitting420 Neo Contra and F-Zero are definitely good choices and I've added 'em. Rising, Asura's Wrath and NMH I feel would be good fits if you could cut out the narrative bits. In MvC3's case, very stylish but not quite the right aesthetic or naming convention methinks

I'm also adding Wipeout Fury and Rez (I probably would have skipped Wipeout but the zone/zone battle trials are a solid fit)
