2019 Games that were whatever I guess
I'll be honest Sekiro is as good as Devil May Cry 5 in my opinion but it felt like a copout to have 2 games about warrior swordsmen losing their arm and gaining a replacement arm with various gadgets as my goty tie ins

Devil May Fucking Cry! ! ! ! !
This would overtake Symphony of the Night on my favorite games ever if it wasn't for the fact that I think Symphony of the Night just has had more time to settle in my mind with it's music and aesthetics. In that sense Bloodstained not as good but I think even being able to be compared to that means it's still soaring above most other video games in existence in that regard.
Shadowbringers has some of my favorite tone setting plot beats in a video game that strides the thin line of not being too edgy or tacky. Couple that with a great cast being heightened by a great setting and giving the main character some fucking agency and bravo CBU3 you made another banger story and expansion.
My enjoyment of this game was actually like my enjoyment of Furi. Except this has a whole game ontop of having a series of great bosses
Iceborne came out with my personal favorite end-game system the Monster Hunter franchise has had yet and any snow themed zone is a great time in my book.
Some gorgously rendered pixel art and pleasing music ontop of a gameplay loop that I find satisfying is honestly enough for me. Those 3 things are in such high quality that it makes the just ok story have some believability
I liked what I played but by the time I hit the final region I sort of petered out. It's not Shovel Knight it's me that's the problem. More Shovel Knight gameplay but repackaged with a new toolkit. I brute forced my way through the card game system so I can't really say anything of significance.
idk what a fucking touhou is but this bitch Dio wannabe bitch def got the fucking schmoves. Arcade style metroidvania was a combination I didn't know would work but here it is.
What remake loses in vibes and soundtrack it makes up for having an actual scary first playthrough. The tension is always simmering and this version of tyrant makes it only work better. Every playthrough after that just loses that charm and isn't held up by the gameplay enough to make them worth it besides the novelty
It's kind of just ok. I enjoyed my time with it since I don't really play third person cover shooters that much. SCP shooter game is cool but I couldn't be fucked to read the 50 bajillion documents that go on and on about phenomena or whatever
Embodiment of "I like her but she fucking sucks" into a video game
