Minigames were okay from what I remember

It's got a stellar soundtrack, a deep and engaging story, and beautiful pixel art that is expressive enough to convey so many emotions. The gameplay is the best in the series, due to a combination of good balancing of enemies/items and reasons to replay dungeons. Additionally, the content tacked on from Time/Darkness is significant, adding more fun game mechanics and story content that feels genuine. The pinnacle of Pokémon games and a guaranteed spot on my top 5 list.

Trying to stack Pokémon on top of each other was the best thing about this game

I realized I don't actually care for the competitive battle aspect of Pokémon that much and was kind of disappointed there wasn't really anything else to do in this game. It looked nice though

I like knocking things over and this satisfied that urge decently well. Being able to throw stuff at the blocky animal things to knock them over is a plus.

I didn't actually play through the games in this collection too much, but they're great games and I enjoyed the additional content this game was packaged with.

This game made me wish I had real drums since I enjoyed hitting the controllers a lot

I thought it was decently fun

Best version of my beloved first Nintendo game. Sadly it's... now too slow for my patience if I try to replay it, but the graphics and soundtrack are probably the most nostalgic out of any game for me.

2020

Nothing wrong with the game, I just don't think roguelikes are my thing

Deserves massive credit for bringing the world together. You could actually go out on the street and have a shared social interaction with strangers... what a magical time. The actual game was nothing special, but the whole location tracking thing was really cool at the time, when the servers weren't crashing.

I bought this and was immediately disappointed by how little actual playable content there was.

8-player matches were crazy. Smash Tour was alright but as with all the other Smash games I wish there were more modes to play with.

A fun diversion as a standalone title but I don't remember playing it too much. It would have been nice if there were more stages.

After not caring that much for Gates to Infinity, I was overall quite happy with how Super Mystery Dungeon turned out. I fully enjoyed it, and the ending hit hard as usual. I don't remember going back to play it very much though - nothing like I did for Explorers. Thinking back, I feel like this might have been the last released Pokémon game I was really happy with until Legends: Arceus.
