I honestly was expecting a pretty boring quest line because I don't really feel that much connect to the majority of the scions and I thought that's what this would be about, but I was glad to be wrong. Here we see the ramifications of the death of the Archbishop and how people are unwilling to change. As well as setting up what I assume to be major antagonists that spark curiosity and excitement. I really enjoyed the dungeon where you fight alongside the story NPCs like Ser Aymeric, this was definitely more story and chatavter focused than content focused but I'm glad because I am very invested in the story and the characters of Ishgard. I'm glad to see man strive to make peace with dragons and continue that struggle. I also like how it really does show that you can't end a 1,000 year war in a day, because Nidhogg is still out there, and he has taken to the skies. I'm very excited for the next patch.

It's certainly is interesting, the Game Boy Advance is probably one of the last consoles you would think a fighting game could be played on, but here one is. Of course there's a reason you wouldn't think of a GBA and that's primarily because of the controls, the GBA having a total of 2 face buttons. They had to use the shoulder buttons for punch and slash, and to compensate for the lack of controls, they made the game incredibly easy, the AI is genuinely terrible, they hardly attack at all. I tried out endless and got so bored I just quit after getting 2 million points. But, there is something of note about this game considering it is a Guilty Gear game that's portable, and since I don't have a PSP, this is the only one I can play (not counting Dust Strikers since that's not a traditional fighting game and not counting +R cause that is impossible to play on switch for me the dpad is terrible for fighting games). I had some fun but it only serves to supplement my Guilty Gear cravings when away from home.

There aren't many games like this. Such a tight and streamlined experience that plunges you into mechanical (hehe) depth and let's you completely immerse yourself in this industrial, and decaying world. I've never had such a tailored experience before, the level of customizability is something I never thought they'd give me in a video game. There's just so many options, you're able to find your own comfort build and settle into the groove and play your way, and that's what's truly special about this game. I see a lot of people complaining that the only builds that works is lightweight shotgun or Gatling tanks, when that simply isn't the case. I found the perfect level of challenge and fun with a medium bipedal build with some mid game guns and a sword. PvP on the other hand, yeah you might want to find a meta build because they're are so many much more skilled players and they will destroy you. The story itself I found to be very fulfilling, but even more so was the way it told the story. You never see a human face, you never see a human, you see nothing much machines and weapons the entire game, you only hear voices. However, those voices are so uniquely powerful and are so important that you don't need to see their face, it also leaves a lot of things up for interpretation. I've said a lot of good things so far but I do have one semi important gripe, and that is the music. I dislike almost all the music in this game. It feels so generic big movie synth two note melodies woah look how awesome this all is, it's just so boring and uninspired. Also a lot of moments that I felt were big or important had very very quiet music or no music at all leaving things with no lasting impact when I felt they deserved it. Do not however that I said most, the true ending credits theme is so good, as well as some boss themes, but overall I was severely disappointed especially considering what the music of past games had. With all that said I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite games, the actual gameplay experience is like nothing I've ever played before and I'll always remember this.

This is incredible. It's such a step up from the mostly boring A Real Reborn. It felt like everything had more weight, my actions mattered more than ever before. Also, I love dragons. All kinds of dragons I am in love, and the designs in this are genuinely spectacular. The environments are gorgeous as they always have been, and the characters I felt more attached to. I do think some of the content is lacking, there aren't as many trails as I hoped there would be. Overall it was great I had a lot of fun, but I don't like how it ended with a cliffhanger, I genuinely thought we were going to go after Nidhogg and he would be the true final boss and I was so excited even though I really liked Estinien, I'm hoping that's what we do in the patches. But still, that was a great final boss with incredible music as is tradition. This made all of A Realm Reborn worth it (even though I think ARR is worth it on its own).

Wow, this is rough. I mean, it's pretty fun and a lot of the stuff you can do is hilarious, but looking at it a game, it's very, very rough. It's very unbalanced with instakills being so incredibly annoying to deal with especially in the later stages, Justice just spams from full screen, and it's almost impossible to unlock Baiken without some crazy infinite from Sol or something, it's just not that fun to play through. It's not all bad I do like a lot of a versus stuff and the mobility is very very loose but that's fun. Wacky stuff.

What a game of it's time. It's clearly very, very dated but that's kinda what you signed up for. I have a lot of mixed opinions because a lot of this game is a slog and genuinely not fun, but also it feels really homely playing it. You can feel all the love that was put into it during every minute of gameplay that made even the most boring parts feel welcome. The music didn't impress me as much as I was hoping it to but I did enjoy quite a few of the tunes. The characters are a bit goofy but overall charming and likeable. I especially enjoyed the struggle of Cloud trying to figure out who exactly he was and how that affected all his relationships. I feel like not every character is important with people like Yuffie not really having anything meaningful to say and being very one dimensional which was disappointing but I still liked her. That ending was, interesting, but it really did feel like a grand adventure. I'm very excited to play the rest of the compilation of FFVII.

I had a lot of fun with this, but there was also a significant amount of tedium that really dragged everything down. Playing with friends was a serious pain because they don't let you bring them along the quest until after you watch the cutscene and engage the monster. And things like being forced on expeditions to wander around gathering tracks in random spots until you fill up the bar and can actually hunt the monster were incredibly annoying. I do love the environment however, and tracking the monster in the quest to hunt it is very nice and I hope they bring that back. I dislike the general direction the armor and weapon design with, it feels so uninspired compared to the older games. The combat is generally pretty good and I enjoyed it but I feel like they made bow bad :(. Overall the experience is alright but I hope Iceborne is better.

Humanity's struggles. That's ultimately what this game is about. It's pretty average stuff and it's overall message it's really one that stands out to me, however there's so much more to this game. There's a lot of peaks and valleys, during one section it's the most exhilarating and awe inspiring thing you've ever seen, and another moment it's dull fetch quests and talking to 20 different random NPCs, but that's kind of what you expect from a Final Fantasy game. This is a very mature game but even through this it doesn't forsake lighthearted fun and jokes and that's really relieving. Even in one of the most serious moments they, in a roundabout way, name drop Final Fantasy and I couldn't help but bust out laughing. I think all the characters are incredibly well written, well voice acted, and well presented. The soundtrack is phenomenal, it lends itself so incredibly well to the setting and the action it's perfect. The gameplay itself is something like I've never seen before, so many abilities and ways to intertwine them I had a lot of fun experimenting with combos and such. The ending hit me so hard. I cried in a way I hadn't even thought possible anymore, this truly felt like one the greatest experiences in gaming.

The absolutely grip this had on me when I was younger was unreal. The game itself was incredible but you could already tell that by the massive impact it had. Undertale is in part the reason I picked up piano, it's part of why I'm interested in game development. The gameplay is so unique and engaging and very choice heavy which is great. The 4th wall breaks were incredibly done, and just the writing is astounding. This game truly was an innovating and a major push for indie games and I love what came out of it.

This was a surprisingly very very fun for me. I usually have an aversion for easier games catered towards kids but this one is just so calming to play. All the scenery is pretty and the music actually blew me away countless times. I played the entire thing co-op with my brother and had a blast. The only thing I really have to critique are the bosses which are for the most part very boring and how much they're reused just rubs it in. King Dedede is the exception of course. This game is just if the post apocalypse was fun and by god was it fun.

I wasn't going to log this since I had already logged and reviewed Generations Ultimate but for the sake of purity why not. This was the first Monster Hunter game that I really got into, I loved all the styles and the monsters were awesome, I would sit on my bed and play for like 8 hours straight and I wouldn't be able to play for the next like 3 days because my thumbs would hurt to much. This game was great, though not including G rank is a bit of a downside, I really dislike how they release basically incomplete games but that's why we have GenU. I have very fond memories of grinding out Mizutsune's armor because I thought it looked cute and I remember soloing Glavenus, I spent a lot of time in this game and I got to spend so much more in GenU so I'm glad I found this game.

It's actually way more fun than I was expecting. There's quite a bit of free summons and the character art is mostly good, though it feels more like a power trip than anything else, it was hardly challenging because there isn't much strategy to form with only 4 units but I liked seeing all my favorite characters on one map. It's a good time killer and the main scenario is interesting enough.

The game was really fun but unfortunately Square Enix shut down the servers so all I could play was the offline demo, but that demo was really really fun. I hope to see it ported to consoles one day! Definitely an incredible mech action game I wish I could've actually played it.

2022

It's just a cute little indie game, it wasn't too scary but it had some great ideas. I really think it would've been better if you were alone more and Gary wasn't in the game so when you find Mary and slowly realized what she was it would've been more intense, but I liked it. The art was eh honestly but I love the aesthetic so it can slide. If you like indie games I recommend it.

As my first Guilty Gear game I had a lot of fun, I was hoping there was a story mode because I know this series has a lot of lore but even though there wasn't it was still a great single player experience. I'm not very well versed in fighting games and I don't even know how to use the tension meter but I still think I got the hang of it and I was able to get through arcade mode with Ky who I played the most. The music was great, although not as memorable as I thought. Just a great game.
