I'm going to pretend I beat this game because I'm fucking scared of those fishes.

this game made me less afraid of death. there is no higher review i can give it.

its a humbling feeling to find a game that feels bigger than you

i dont even know where to start describing it. at its core, its a game about not understanding. the gameplay revolves around trying in vain to learn about your surroundings - to piece it all together and find a solution to a problem - only to die not because of a lack of trying, but because we just dont have the time.

the beauty of Outer Wilds lies right there. its galaxy is small, yet feels huge and only gets bigger the more you dig. by all means it should feel like a hopeless venture to continue exploring, but its too engaging not to. there is no end goal, and it makes no promises other than the fact you will die.

and the magic is that we did anyway. even if i didnt know what for, i kept exploring its planets to find its secrets. i felt giddiness meeting every character and hearing their stories. i pat myself on the back after solving puzzles once i asked the guy at the starting campfire how to.

Outer Wilds - despite playing as an alien - is a deeply human game. a journey about facing adversity through sheer willpower despite not having all the answers, and knowing youre not alone in that.

i cant do this game a service with my $5 speak and someone else could do a much better job, and thats ok. because like i said, this game - like its setting - is big. theres so much to talk about, yet its message is so precise. its mysteries are so complex, yet so simple in retrospect. games like these remind me how special this industry is, and what kind of art it can produce. Outer Wilds is a profound experience i likely wont forget for a very long time.

I was writing the fifth paragraph of my review, and then accidentally clicked on one of my browser's bookmarked websites, losing all of my progress. It felt exactly like my first 6 hours into this game, so I think that this is way more symbolic than anything that I could have ever written.

People will complain for a game launching buggy, but will happily play fallout new vegas a game that crashes if you play it on a tuesday and its slightly warmer than normal

My god this is one of the most annoying, contrarian review pages I've seen on this site. Anyway I like this game, BOTW is inferior. They NEED to fix the sage's AI though, chasing Riju down in the middle of a battle to activate her ability is very annoying. There are times where she just straight up isn't attacking even though other sages are. Besides that I have a lot of fun exploring the depths.

5 months later: they did not fix Riju's AI.

You guys spent $70 on Bad Piggies

This game taught me a very valuable lesson: If you smoke and drink at the same time, they cancel each other out.

Please don't actually do that you will die

Bloodborne is arguably one of the PS4s finest exclusives. The gameplay is beautifully fluid and heavy, even after going through the same areas the gameplay never got old. The inclusion of trick weapons and the numerous play styles keeps the game fresh and is incredibly unique and original.

Although the story is like its predecessors, you get what you put in, to me it’s incredibly deep and well formed. Yharnam has a dark story to tell, with terrible Eldrich secrets to uncover. The game is a shining example of environmental storytelling, incorporating its level design intrinsically with its overarching plot.

The musical score, a standout being ludwigs theme is not only beautiful but a piece of incredible classical music. Boss fights are elevated to an extreme degree due to all of the things mentioned above working in complete tandem to produce one of the best Lovecraftian pieces of media since HP Lovecrafts novels.

Time for you to join the Hunt!

A haunting melody that rises and rises with its notes and doesn't stop until you're left utterly broken and hollow.
