They really toned down the collectibles compared to X3 which made it feel dissapointing to me at first. However this is a very SOLID game and goes back to the basics like X1.

I prefer the Soundtrack of the first three games though and I think levels for the most don't feel as open as in the previous X Games.

Because of the lack of collectibles this game can also feel a bit more difficult or at least less "cheese-able" then the previous X Games.

When you could bring your Mech to Fight Magma Dragoon though that was a moment of pure bliss. Also Frost Walrus's Stage is one of my favourite Stages in any game

If you like collecting things this is a good one

Edit: Yeah screw what everybody else says. I've been led to believe that this isn't as good as X1 or X2 but upon replaying it this game is just radical dudee!

Animated Cutscenes from the PS1 Version blew my mind and add soo much. The PS1 Soundtrack is slapping hard. I love collecting all the cool things. Ride Armors? Yes! Multiple Routes regarding Bit and Byte and Vile? Thats so cool!! Upwards Dash? Golden Armor? Z-Saber? This game has soo much amazing stuff!

If you like this game don't let people tell you it isn't good! It has flaws but think about all the cool stuff this game has!

I want to live in crystal snail stage

Solid game. It is very solid. The music is SUPERSOLID meaning it is the best in the whole megaman series maybe.

I know everybody loves this game alot but I really prefer X2 and X3's more open and varied levels and bigger amount of collectibles.

It's alright but it has its flaws.
Levels are too long and going for 100% completions is not a fun time. I mean the original trilogy had some difficult stages but at least they were short.

It could have been better

This game is actually good but visually I don't think it looks as interessting or appealing as it would have looked if it were 8 bit or 16 bit. Also the music is the most forgettable in the series

Base game is nearly as good as Megaman 9 but this game as alot more side content. Challenges and more Difficulty Options + playable characters. Also 3 nice and difficult Extra Stages

Best Soundtrack in the Series maybe?
This one is very good and imo also one of the more difficult ones

Underrated MM game. It isn't as bad as some people say. All the stages have unique gimmicks that are fun for the most part (except the boxes in clown man's stage)
Also I like the bolt system in this game the best. You don't have to grind for them instead they are hidden in the stages. Thats coooool

Everything is more scary idk why.
A solid one imo but the music gives me a headache in this one

It's good to have a shop system but it's super slow with the most annoying music and WHY does eddie suck me up with his.... thing?!!

Also either im dumb or slashman is the worst robot master boss fight of all time.

I don't know why but this one always seemd less interessting to me compared to the other NES Megaman games. I'm not a big fan of the Rush Fusions. But the Soundtrack is a banger yoo

I think this one is underrated. It has cool gimmicks like the gravity stage and Jetski. Also I like the collectibles here

Best Classic Megaman. A Classic but not as Classic as Classic Megaman 2 which is the most Classic of the Classic Series while Classic Megaman 4 is the best of the Classic Series.
Music isn't as good as the other 8bit MM games imo

Don't like the Doc Robot Stages.
Has a good Wily Castle though

Best classic megaman. This is a classic. Classic game
