This is a game from my childhood I have fond memories of. Of the Putt Putt games, I remember this one the most clearly. I remember it being not too hard, having a lawn mower minigame, and that you could repaint Putt Putt at will. It was fun.

This is a game from my childhood I don't remember much of, but it might have been more frustrating and arcane than the first Putt Putt if I recall correctly. Weird space stuff can make for a fun setting, but it can also make things more obtuse.

This is like the 90s version of Clubhouse Games and I remember it very fondly. The visuals were charming, the voices full of character, and it was a good way to play various tabletop games without a lot of set up, or even another person. At the time, there were very few better choices for activity packs I'm pretty sure.

A run based logic puzzle game for kids. It's pretty cool that you can lose Zoombinis along the way, very simple way to punish players for taking too many tries to figure out the rules. Lots of little puzzles to figure out along a run, I remember enjoying the journey a lot though I didn't always do super well. Not sure I ever figured out enough to get through clean.

While this first entry gets a lot right, there's also a lot of bad ideas in here as well. For instance, control stick rotating minigames. Those will fuck up your hand! The game also lacks the depth of gameplay later entries would get from items, more types of minigame, and more sophisticated boards. This game is a good start, but it's not there yet.

The first Mario Party to get things right. While the item selection and duel systems are a bit lacking, there's a ton to love about this one. From the charm of seeing the party goers dressed up for each map to the fully fleshed out minigame modes, there's a lot to love here. Plus it has some of the best minigames in the series, such as the best version of Face Lift!

A kart racing adventure that's full of personality and handles well. The scope of this game is really cool - it's fun to explore the overworld between worlds, finding secrets and the way forward. The races themselves are also really well done, with the three vehicle types each having their own quirks that are fun to master and the tracks being decorated and themed very well. The game is full of life, as well as things to do. Quite good! <3

A simple platformer, but very charming and delightful. The 2.5D perspective is really cool, and is used in a bunch of really neat ways. There's also the ability combo system, which is really fun to play with and find cool combinations. It's true that there are a good number of duds in there, but there's also a good number of rad powers. Bomb Cutter is so good! <3

This game is kind of trash, but I still really enjoyed it! The gimmick of having to tend to the ball is well done, and finding ways to bring it through the levels is reasonably fun. The game is super janky, but so much of it is so cool and charming that personally I'm happy to push through the jank, push through the garbage parts and have a good time with it. Even today, I have enough nostalgia to enjoy revisiting Glover. It's actually pretty good.

Never was the biggest fan of this game. While it's got a ton of content for a 2D platformer and a lot of memorable bits, it does a few things that are pet peeves for me. For instance, I don't like having to get all collectibles in a single run for it to count. Also not a big fan of how you lose Baby Mario. Overall the game's pacing is a bit too slow and exploration bent for my tastes. Still, can't deny it's got a lot of cool stuff to it and looks absolutely killer.

Pretty solid Tennis game, but it's not much beyond that. There are a few additional modes, but none give the game all that much more replay value than the basic Tennis gameplay. The tennis is very well executed and very fun, it's just very limited in replay value and variety. Growing up, it was not a multiplayer favorite for my family, so I mostly played it alone.

Wonderfully charming farming game, absolutely dug the hell out of it when I got my hands on it back in the day. While now it might be a tad simple compared to our modern farming games, back then I just enjoyed the simple pleasures of raising crops, raising animals and making horse racing tracks out of rocks. It was good clean fun, and that's all it needed to be.

A slow paced but charming photography game that I didn't have a ton of patience for, but still enjoyed somewhat. The slow pace of it could be frustrating for me at times, but if you know what you're doing you can get through runs and unlock new areas at a pretty fast pace which is nice. I did always think it was really cool the secrets you could find by interacting with the world, made it feel like there was a lot to discover even if most of the time you didn't find anything. Very neat game!

A meaty 3D platformer that I love nearly all of. From the writing, the worlds, the personality, the moves, the way solo Banjo and Kazooie handle, even stuff like the backtracking. Unlike in Kazooie, you can't finish most worlds in one go, but for me that's a plus. Since I can't possibly optimize the game like that, I feel okay just going wherever I please, collecting whatever I feel like. It's freeing. This also makes it longer, which I appreciate. It's an all time favorite! <3

My first Zelda game, and also one of my all time favorite ones. It's one of the few to focus on side content rather than just the dungeons, and it pays off. Clock town is more than just a façade of a town, it feels like a living breathing town due to the detail put into the three day span. Also wonderful are its 3 alternate forms, which add a lot of fun gameplay to the mix. Whenever I play this game I always go for every mask simply because everything in this game is worth doing. <3
