Emotional Gaming

These are games that made me sad or cry for whatever reason. I'll be sure to include just enough context in the notes to avoid spoilers if it involves spoiler-y things.

"I don't want to let go..."
The ending tho 😭
The intro 😢
Honestly there aren't really any scenes that get me, but listening to the song "Because I Love You" gets me emotional. Heck, even just reading the song name kind of gets me a bit
(´。_。`)
Felt for Sage in that one cutscene.
The ending is so perfect and so sad. From the music, to the dialogue, to the final boss itself, there's just so much weight to the situation and everything that's happening. Easily one of my favorite ending sequences I've experienced in a game.
Hearing the main theme music of this game fills me with so many happy memories that it makes me tear up.
The Imperial China storyline ending got me good. Also the track Warm-A-Live makes me think of the day I proposed to my wife.
The only time the Hundred Acre Wood content in a Kingdom Hearts game got me sad. Pooh...
The track that plays during the credits makes me sad.
STORY TIME
So, when I was a kid this game was fresh out and there were trailers and stuff and I thought it looked like the coolest game ever. One day, the folks take me to GameStop to snag a copy. The dude behind the counter tells us they're out of copies, and 7-year-old me immediately burst into tears (the natural response to being denied Sonic Heroes). Eventually we found a copy, though, and my life was changed forever (a good thing, I hope!)
When this world is no more
The moon is all we'll see
I'll ask you to fly away with me
Until the stars all fall down
They empty from the sky
But I don't mind
If you're with me, then everything's alright

I'll be honest my only exposure to this game was a Let's Play from over a decade ago but just thinking of these lyrics still hits. Needless to say I cried like a baby when this song played lmao.
Listening to Deference for Darkness never fails to make me sad. What a beautiful song.
No matter how many times I see it, the ending of this game will never fail to make me burst into tears.
Hearing someone speak during the final ending caught me off guard. Didn't cry, but felt myself getting tense.
Everything to do with the final mission just got me. Probably the only time a Call of Duty game will ever make me cry.
Seeing Lief's arc conclude made me happy-sad.
YOU'RE THE MEANING IN MY LIFE
YOU'RE THE INSPIRATION
YOU BRING FEELING TO MY LIFE
YOU'RE THE INSPIRATION

Buckets of tears. Dunno how I passed.
I probably wouldn't have gotten sad seeing Astro Bot walk away after the final boss if the game wasn't in VR. Things just kind of feel more real when it doesn't feel like a screen is between you and the main character (I mean technically there still is one but you know what I mean). Astro Bot is such a good friend I don't wanna say goodbye :(
I want a shirt that says "That is love. This is love" so badly it hurts.

I probably beat Yoshi's Island's final boss thousands of times, and that credits sequence still absolutely demolishes me.
