One of the best plots in JRPGs imo. Roxas's story alone is just fantastic, and everything about this game is just so damn cool.
Unfortunately, I think the gameplay hasn't aged very well. There's too much of a reliance on QTEs and the game is just too easy and you never have to think that hard about the combat. To clarify, this is /Vanilla/ KH2 I'm talking about -- not Final Mix, which is much better.

Really good game made way better with the ReMiND update that added critical mode and revamped Sora's moveset. The gameplay is really good and on par with KH2FM post-update imo. However, the story is structured really poorly. KH games typically are divided into Disney World stuff and the actual original KH story, while other games do a good balancing act between the two, KH3 shoves all of the actual plot all the way at the end, which makes the rest of the game feel like a colossal waste of time. It also tries a little too hard to wrap up everything, and you have weird situations where the most cartoonish villains get redemption stories that are insultingly unearned.

I have a lot of complicated feelings about this game. MK8DX on paper sounds like a huge improvement over MK8, but it does a lot of things that detract from the experience for me. I personally do not care about battle mode and never have, so that did nothing for me. There were no new racing tracks which was a huge disappointment for me, since I already had the game on Wii U. Plus, changes to the core game mechanics like the removal of fire hopping, allowing people to hold two items again which made the game way more chaotic and unbalanced, and some over advanced mechanics that were removed made me feel very alienated by this game. I had fun playing locally with friends when we all first got our Switches though, and it's still Mario Kart 8, so I don't hate it, I still think it's a good game. I just think the Wii U version was more fun to play.

The story isn't quite as good as other games in the series, the gameplay is a little unrefined, it's got that early PS2 jank, but this is still a really good game. In my opinion it does some things better than later KH games, and I think it has the best designed MP gauge in the series. Parrying and getting technicals is super satisfying and this is just as good of an action game as other KH games. Definitely an essential play for anyone new to KH.

This is a really good JRPG with a fantastic party. The ending made me cry and it's full of emotional moments like that. I do think the strategy of treating it as an ongoing game by finishing the story via DLC was a big mistake, since there are limited time events that can't be played anymore, and some of the DLC got cancelled which is still a massive disappointment to me.

Best Smash game of all time, and it's not even made by Nintendo. It's a massive improvement over Melee's gameplay and it has such a fun cast of characters to play as. Project M is genuinely amazing. If it gets a rollback mod like Melee, I will never have a reason to touch another Smash game ever again
