Best gaming experience I’ve had in a long time. Super intriguing world building, fun platforming (was so excited about the tough platforming in the later game), and really great combat. I’ll definitely be coming back to attempt Steel Soul mode and to beat the 5th pantheon.

9 stars for me. Even though it’s gotta be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a game. The main reason I’m docking any points is because I couldn’t get through a full playthrough without taking a few longer breaks. It’s just a bit too long if you want to complete as much of the game as possible (which is how I like to play games. I got 112% on hollow knight my first playthrough for example).

But the world building is amazing. I love the environmental storytelling. I love the weapons in this game. The boss fights are super fun. Though sometimes I hated them so much. Just with most other obscenely hard games, I remember the fights fondly now that I’ve beaten them. Great game. Will play again for sure.

I really loved this! Super great game that wears its influences on its sleeve yet in a way that still carves its own unique spot out. Super elegant gameplay so far. A souls inspired legend of zelda-like adventure! One of the most exciting and brain melting puzzles to wrap it up. WOW

give me another dk country NINTENDO PLEASE

Ugh so great again as always! Think I might wanna play all the 2D marios before Wonder comes out

This game is so bad but the music is good. I'm so happy that the other games in the series are at least a little less horrible jank unfair games. On to Mega Man 2!!

I like this a lot more than most people. Golf is very fun. Bowling is nice. Tennis is very fun. The outfits are fun to unlock. What more can i want??

Overall liked the game. I think my playthrough wasn't as good as it could have been.

I did find the game to get a bit boring because it was so big but it felt like there wasn't much variety. Very few different enemy types and I got tired of the shrine loop. The beasts were all the same gimmick as well.

Would have loved to see a few legacy dungeons. Elden Ring for example incorporates legacy dungeons into the open world seamlessly. Would also have wanted some better rewards for cool moments in the game. For example, the dragons were really cool but the reward from getting their scales and finding where to bring them was a shrine with a cool but very impermanent weapon. I found that underwhelming and disappointing. Also, maybe something like an aesthetic change to the shrines to match the biome they were in would have gone a long way to keep them feeling fresh.

I was a fan of the weapon durability because it forces you to think on your toes and try out different styles. But maybe there should have been way more clothes options then so that there could be something the game could reward you with that wasn't gone after 2 fights.

Obviously the game has many super great moments. It is high on my list of games to give a second try. I did not 100% the game and I wonder if I could have been more creative in how I went about tackling some of the challenges. I'll be sure to update if a second playthrough is better for me. But for now, it was good but not great.

i've played this so many times. I love 16 star speed runs. I love 120 star playthroughs. One of the best games ever.

I played this like 5 times all the way through. One of my favorite games ever. Certainly one of the most important games of my childhood! Love it!

So far, it's better than the first one. But there's just so much bad design on these old platformers. Tbh to have fun you need save states until you're really REALLY good at the game.

bad ports that i spent way too much time on
