the gunplay is pretty mid but it's hard to notice that when the rest of the game is so atmospheric and engaging and well-paced

there is so much content in this game and it varies wildly in quality so it's hard to really judge this game as a whole but overall I enjoyed the time i put into it and i might pick it back up again someday.

like the other TES games, i loved Skyrim on my first playthrough but every time i go back to it i just can't get into it. the world is beautiful and the music and atmosphere are great but the game itself is so shallow i always end up dropping it after a few hours.

this might have the worst melee combat of any game i have ever played in my entire life but the solid quest writing, music, and atmosphere kept me engaged for multiple playthroughs

a perfectly executed little game, even if that perfection was only really made possible by how simple of a game it is.

a cool concept executed to even more perfection

a cool concept executed to perfection

all you need to know about this game is Trent Reznor didn't come back to do the soundtrack because he thought it wasn't nearly as cool as the first Quake and he was right. the new soundtrack goes hard but that's about the only thing notable about Quake II. it's fine game overall i guess just a bit boring.

i want to make sweet love to Kass and Teba and Sidon and Link and oh i guess the game is pretty fun too

a short and sweet fun time but the mother brain fight made me want to die holy shit that fight sucks so much

unnecessarily obtuse at times but still a lot of fun

i wonder if Yoshi has permanent brain damage from all the punches to the head he takes in this game

its Mario 64 but objectively better because you can play as Wario but also objectively worse because you have to play it with a d-pad instead of a stick
