Is there much difference between TO original and the PSP version?

@nervalitis the original has less mechanics and systems kind of stacked on top of each other, and I think much simpler class system than the one in the remake. Overall the original version is a little more punishing and grindy, but more focused on a specific play experience without stuff like crafting and skill setups that can effectively change lots of stuff.
New version also has new battles, quests, story stuff, etc. It's basically a ground-up remake with new features but with the same original director overseeing it.

I don't know what it says about my taste that I don't disagree with your lowest rankings (at least as far as the ones I've played go) but I still really liked them a whole lot anyway.

My main issue with the old version was the class system, wich punish you if you made a team with a majority of women. At a certain point i felt that the male classes were what really matters, and the female were only support characters.

Also the story and intrincade political plotline is not my juice.

@nervalitis huh, I had no idea there was a functional gender disparity like that in the original. Weird.

@Hattori once I become more familiar with and play more shining force I'm gonna update this list but as of now I have very little experience with those games. I'm planning on doing that with langrisser and a few other ones too.

I guess it's better now, like TO:The Knight of Lodis. It was a nightmare maining a group of rude valkyries and discover that they have to choose one magical softie job to support THE MEN.
