On paper, Skyrim should not be as memorable as it is. A forgettable story, slow combat, shallow RPG mechanics, and short side quest lines. Ultimately the game is saved by the inexplicable “it factor” that makes Skyrim feel so completely unique.

The most fun I’ve ever had with a horde shooter

I am still working through this game but I completely understand why it won the GotY award. Even as a certified D&D 5e hater, BG3 adopts it very well and even improves upon the source game’s rules.

This game got me through college

My favorite RTS game ever made. I’ve been playing this since I was able to hold a mouse.

My favorite Zelda game to date. It improves upon BotW in nearly every single aspect and for me, is nearly perfection. So close to being my GotY for one of the best years in video game releases.

Until last year this was my favorite Zelda game ever. It’s one of the most beautiful worlds in video game history and leaves a wonderful legacy. The lack of enemy variety and limited dungeons single this game back.

Conceptually, this is my favorite Zelda game. In all aspects of story and exploration, Majora’s Mask is beautiful. I just can’t get over the stress of the timer. I unfortunately don’t see myself ever completing this game but I still hold out hope that one day I might get over that hurdle.

An extremely memorable game worthy of its legacy. It still holds up today if you ask me.

This game was the first CRPG that ever really stuck with me. The combat is engaging and chaotic, the exploration is wonderful, and while the story isn’t incredible it still works to drive the game forward.

I will probably never finish this game. Even ten years ago when I started The Witcher for the first time, it had already aged like soggy bread. A story that seems interesting but is bogged down by extremely awkward performances and visuals with the single worst combat system I’ve ever had the misfortune of enduring.

I have played this game start to finish nearly five times. It’s flawed, it lulls in the middle, and it is absolutely beautiful. I know it’s not a fan favorite but it’s a me favorite.

No rating yet. I hated this game for the longest time due to its sluggish combat. Finally, after over five attempts, I completed the introduction with the Mage class and I began to really see why people love DAO. Unfortunately due to other game releases, I left it behind, though I plan to finish it later.

The gameplay is very solid and the multiplayer consistently drew me in. The main story did little except make me want to replay the trilogy again. Never finished because every time I tried to get back into it, I just went to the first three again.

While the ending is controversial, Mass Effect 3 is a fantastic experience to round out the trilogy.
