Oh man, what a damn masterpiece.

I already loved Cyberpunk 2077 before 2.0, I actually finally finished it back in 2022, it was still incomplete with a save file of 60 hours.

But what 2.0 does aside, essentially turning this game into what it should have been, and now it's damn worthy of its name,
But man, Phantom Liberty.

For me it was one of those narrative experiences that continues to haunt you after you've completed it, I just couldn't stop thinking about it in the days that followed, and not just after the main ending mind you, basically after any main mission.

The themes, the presentation, the performances and characters, all essentially perfect, I don't know how CD Project Red managed to tell stories this dark, this complex, and this bleak, both in the main game and Phantom Liberty, and not worry about sales or anything related to that, the writers and story designers did not give a DAMN about anything and just told the story they wanted to tell, a story taking place in the already massive and complex world of Cyberpunk, and they just went with the most complex elements in the universe, they should be proud of the perfect adaptation they have managed to pull off.

And Songbird, holy hell what a character, all other excellent characters in this whole game aside, she is just on another level, she's one of the most intriguing, complex, and enchanting characters I've ever seen in anything, she stole the whole show and most of the time wasn't even on screen, just her voice, and that's thanks to the phenomenal voice acting by Minji Chang, she has breathed life into one of my favorite characters of all time, and whenever she WAS actually on screen, I was just on the edge of my seat.
Everything from her way of talking, mysterious past, and alluring presence just worked, and was the main force behind the spy thriller, even psychological thriller themes of the story, the wicked and haunting vibes of this story continued to haunt me for days.

What an experience, sometimes I'm just reminded why I'm glad video games exist.

Man, what a JOY this game is once you figure it out and start playing the right way, get some builds going, and melt bosses.
It's resource management done right.

Also the OST is really damn good, I sometimes pause the game just to headbang to it.

The biomes are all great, my favorite is the third one, Interport, because of the atmosphere and enemies.

If you like FPS games or Roguelikes, do NOT miss this game.

I initially played Detroit back when it released in 2018 and back then, I actually enjoyed it quite a lot.

As a sci-fi lover, I was immersed in its world and the game got me invested, it also had nice visuals, a great soundtrack, and Connor's chapters were awesome.

But recently I went back for a replay, it had been 4 years since I last played it, this time on PC with better visuals, frame rate and basically everything else and... I dropped it after 8 chapters.
I just couldn't handle how the game takes itself so seriously, Markus's chapters became unbearable, mind numbing chores, and Kara's were boring and lifeless.
Like seriously the freedom and slavery themes are so cringe and unrealistic, it's so bad.

I still loved Connor and Hank though, their chapters are awesome but it wasn't enough to keep me on the replay.

I don't know if I like this game or not anymore, I won't touch my score, it's for my previous experience of this game, I will leave it be for now on.
I don't know if Detroit is a moody, atmospheric, sci-fi tale with a good cast and cool soundtrack
or a pile of pretentious, mind numbing, cringe dog shit.
I guess it can be both, it's just a matter of perspective.
I just had to get this out, it's a petty game, not even worth a review this long but whatever.

Really, really enjoyed this as a sequel.

As a big fan of the first Oxenfree, I couldn't ask for more, they took the story in a really interesting direction and connected it to the first game very nicely.

While Riley was good, Jacob was the standout character of this game, he was interesting, funny, and made me think about whatever subject he was talking about.

The audio of this game is insane, from the soundtrack, to all the effects and ambients, really rich soundscape overall, one of the highlights of the game for sure, just like the first one.

The radio buddies also had me totally invested, I couldn't wait to talk to them more, specially Nick and Shelley, make sure you complete their stories.

Overall such a neat, lovable, and wellmade sequel, Night School put their hearts into this, and I really enjoyed it.

Played this because I'm an old Dead Space fan and I love sci-fi, I knew it was gonna be mid but I still decided to play it and I ended up enjoying it.

I'll focus more on the positives since the negatives are all over any comments or reviews of this game.

The game looks absolutely phenomenal, specially with Ray-Tracing, you just gotta play this with Ray-Tracing because otherwise you're missing out on a major feature of this game, I'm a high fps PC player kind of guy, but once I saw the RT in this game, I couldn't play without it, it's amazing.

The setting and lore are pretty cool, this is a detailed and accurate sci-fi universe.

I kinda liked the story, maybe because I had my expectations pretty low, but I think it wrapped into a pretty neat package in the end.

Also the Reforgers are great, I enjoyed upgrading my stuff and looking at the animations.

That's it, unfortunately it's not what it could be, there's no enemy variety, basically no exploration, it's painfully linear, and has a bad checkpoint system.
But of course, I still got my enjoyment out of it because of the positives I mentioned, I recommend getting it on a massive sale and playing on an RT capable PC or the quality mode on consoles.

Man, what a journey.
It definitely dragged on in some chapters, specially in the first half, but the second half was so packed with emotional gut punches and some of the most horrific scenery I've ever seen in any media.

The star of the whole game was definitely Amicia, her character arc was so believable and real, her rage issues and PTSD were so realistically explored and narrated and that is all thanks to the excellent voice acting of Charlotte McBurney, holy shit, what a soul crushing performance.

This was a story about struggle, survival, and the inevitable, and despite some minor flaws, it delivered, big time.

My god, talk about a hidden gem!

I couldn't believe how fun it was when I first started playing, I'd heard good stuff and had expectations, but they were far surpassed!

It feels a lot like Borderlands + DOOM + Roguelike elements, and it's really amazing, the speed, the guns, the perks and how powerful and fast you can get, they all feel great.

Will definitely be playing all of the further updates and the final product.

With an already huge backlog and many more better games to play, as a sucker for hack n slash games, I just have to play everything in the genre that comes out, doesn't matter if it's mediocre, so that's precisely why I first gave Soulstice a try, played 5 chapters, and abandoned it, it wasn't THAT good.

That was until the game's style and unique visuals dragged me back in, and I decided to finish it.
While it had its ups and downs, I'm definitely happy I finished it after all.

I'll start with the main point, the combat.
The combat is... good? The combo and weapons system is very similar to DmC: Devil May Cry, as you can start a string with a weapon and finish it with another, the weapons are cool overall, the one that stands out the most is the last weapon you get, tonfas that also act as guns.

All the weapons also have the "synergy attacks", which you can unleash after you've maxed out the Unity meter (think of it as DMC's style system, you need to do different combos and not get damaged), these attacks are good with cool animations, later on you'll get access to the Rapture State and Berserk, which are two of the coolest aspects of the entire game, the "Devil Triggers" if you will.

Now the game isn't without issues obviously, it commits the sin of color coded enemies and some other minor things, I don't understand why they went for the color code system as it clearly didn't work in DmC: Devil May Cry, and it doesn't work very well here, although you'll unlock some upgrades in the endgame which will improve it significantly, but at that point the damage is already done and you've likely suffered enough, all that said though, it's something I'm willing to look past as I had my fair share of fun with the combat system, it has some truly great moments.

Now while I started this game because it's a hack n slash, I was surprised myself because the thing I stayed for was actually the story.
The story starts out pretty good, but it's nothing special early on, after like 8 chapters it picks up, and it's really good after that, the protagonists Briar and Lute specially as they had good character arcs and great voice acting, by the end I was totally caring for them and enjoyed their dialogues and screen time more than I thought I would.

Another strong aspect of this game are the boss fights, there are quite a number of them, and they're all great both story-wise and gameplay-wise.
All of the positives plus the unique visuals and style made me ignore all the game's flaws and have a really good time.

I recommend Soulstice to hack n slash fans, but you have to be patient and play at least 8 chapters before making your mind.

I myself don't even know how I suddenly got into this game, played it for 80+ hours and finished it, something I rarely do these days, I still play it sometimes because it's easy to pick up and play every once in a while.

All that said, I really enjoy this game, something about its combat and the way it works is just addictive, all the different jobs and moves, tons of different enemies and bosses keep things fresh all the time.
Specially the Soul Bursts, one of the main things I play it for, they look really good and feel satisfying.
Once you find your favorite job and get a good build going, it gets really fun, like really really fun, you're Soul Bursting enemies one after another and it becomes a power fantasy at that point.
There are many moves to unlock and like 9 weapon types I think, and as you progress further some moves are tied to some weapons.

In terms of visuals and level design, all the levels are cool, some more than others, the outdoor levels look absolutely awful in terms of visual quality, early PS3 level, but the indoor ones look really good, PS5 level, weird but the difference between the indoor and outdoor levels is two console generations.
The level design is good enough, keeps them from being linear combat arenas.

While the story is cool, it's told in a very, very bad way, it's totally possible to not be interested in it at all, or losing your interest halfway through, because it takes a long while to get going, by the end it gets really interesting and the ending is cool though.

Some negative things about it I'd say would be:
Team Ninja style loot, every enemy you kill drops at least three pieces of loot, high rarities even, and it makes sorting them a pain in the butt, but at least they've added some mechanics via updates like auto-dismantle and not picking up certain rarities.

Boss fights get progressively harder, because each time you die to them, you lose all the MP that you've acquired in the mission, while it remains where you died like souls in Dark Souls, it gets smaller and smaller, and sometimes it just won't remain, so dying to boss fights actually makes them harder and harder, which doesn't make sense to me.

Overall, I recommend Stranger of Paradise to people who like action games, and have no problem with the slow pace of the story, or tons of loot and can suffer through them to find their favorite jobs and get a good build going, it gets really enjoyable, and the ending of the story is pretty good.
Also the performance is a serious problem, on consoles it's better optimized but you're gonna need a powerful PC to play it without problems.

Game freaking rocks, made for hardcore action fans.
The core combat loop is very well made, there are plenty of moves to unlock and many skill trees, just what I wanted to see, and they all feel amazing to perform, specially the Zapper Dash, man it's so awesome. The game feels very polished all around, all moves smoothly tie into each other and you are very much in control of everything you do.

In terms of story and presentation, I'm liking it so far, it's not aiming to change your life or have any meaningful impact, but it's well made and well acted, the cutscenes look pretty good as well.
I must also point out that the game is very well optimized on PC, I'm playing in 120fps with no noticeable drops and it's super smooth.

If you're an action game fan and enjoy good combat, you can pretty much buy this game with your eyes closed, it's that good in what it is, I mean, at the end of the day, you play as a badass cowboy with an electric gauntlet slaying vampires, who the hell doesn't want that?

Returnal is simply fantastic, the loop is engaging, the visuals are mind blowing, the audio design is flawless, the gameplay and the speed feel great specially when coupled with Dualsense's Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers, the story is also weird and inviting, all of this was thrown at a hardcore and dedicated sci-fi and action fan and I had the time of my life.

Melancholic, somber, beautiful...
The gameplay is engaging and there's enough depth, exploration feels great, and that soundtrack is just... magical.

This game legit made me angry, it started good, had cool moments, the first few loops were actually great and made me interested in the story, and the best thing about it is the voice acting.
Too bad it lands in SHIT in the end, what the hell was up with that twist? what were they trying to say or achieve here? beats me.
They could do so much with it, why they went in such direction makes no sense, it's beyond me.
Also the cover has nothing to do with the game, don't go into it expecting to see weird or actual time related stuff.

Very good action and environments, really enjoyable game, specially for the fans of the movies. However there are plenty of downsides, and the story had a lot of untapped potential.

Very atmospheric and faithful to the essence of Blair Witch
