tryin to figure out how to crank up the clocktime on this bad boy pewpewpewpewpew

is this supposed to be funny?? this is serious shit yer talkin abt and you are TERRIFIED of being straightforward abt it. incongruously gripey about "new sincerity"; there is j as much truth in it as there is in this game's clumsy rick and morty ass postmodernism which blatantly advances the aesthetics and presentation of its object of critique. like no matter how many times u wink yer still playing into it except now UR ALSO communicating in teh everpresent deeply commodified internet modality of crude irony WITH A HEALTHY AMT OF blockquotes that assert ive read so many way cool social critics like um mark fisher theodor adorno the list goes on. needless to say bro is deeply undialectical. helps that there is near-zero aesthetic sensitivity so it goes on like blah blah blah blah blah how ab u make something

like yeah stardew valley is reactionary as hell! is this new information?

ostensibly political but rly more of an aesthetic manifesto/individualist thing. doesnt bother to elaborate on "love" as the innermost principle of making good art as if everything including language were a sign for it. video games made by indies and industry devs alike r made for gamers (latently fascist white/asian dudes) and not real people with any remote amt of individuation. the contrast btwn part 1 and 2 (what games r v. what games can be) reads like stuff i myself and my friends have thought which is assuring. really the only thing undermining this is that this user thinks kingdom hearts is an example of a good video game when i cant think of much that screams culture industry distraction-generator louder than a disney + anime rpg. cool to know there r people on the earth

re other reviews on this page, ill say again what was sort of implicit in teh above: i am not so sure the femininity is the point as much as the strict adherence to self-determined/discovered values, which is basically wht "love" stands for. titling and style is provocative in a way thats super interesting to me

for real this turns me into an animal. ive played for hours. totally fucking soulless

historically accurate, i guess

highly accurate playing music w ur friends sim, very nice aesthetics

one way to think about how sterile awful and dead video game culture still is is that up until this point as far as my pretty surface-level research can tell there were zero crpgs that did not have fantasy, historical, or sci-fi settings. feel free to prove me wrong and also i want to play those if you know about them. i would like a single crpg where you are a normal guy please. anyway this one is that and its pretty good even beyond that aspect; i like the expansion of the player characters humanity that this takes as a mechanical project

"they [the cicadas] feel a lot louder now that im not talking to someone"
"every once in a while a firefly comes by to say hello"

sometimes restrained by accident for a lack of interest in style, which is cool, but makes me feel disappointed when for a littl bit they say "i didnt need anything else" and phrases like that. v cute, occasionally wise :)

very clumsy and trying to be sort of nietzschean abt religion but without nietzsche's perceptive capacity and with his sweeping generalizations. pretty stupid framing, borderline misunderstands him. life isnt like this, but i agree, longing is obviously good

2001

the only good part is that it is a game about holding hands

not enough time on this earth to waste it on long ass million gb dopamine juicers

totally undeniable ability to accomodate and guide the player's intuition. feels good feels organic

the cities are pretty, the gameplay stresses me out. the music is too paced and of-a-time for this to be as free as you and i would like it. it goal-orients my brain; i NEED to saunter along to the circle on this lovely peaceful evening with slight rain. silence would actually make this free and peaceful but. instead uve got manufactured chillout music behind manufactured chillout missions neither of which actually allow you to chill out unless you are respectively very vaporwave-poisoned and logistics-hearted. like im talking sitting around in your air-conditioned home and thinking that all of human history was oriented towards the contemporary zenith of comfort we can get in exchange for maintaining some inane set of molecular trivia composing the organs and body of this so-called life. go drive out for as long as it takes to leave light pollution n when the earth is totally enshrouded get out lie down look up and ask god if here in this life of a million little breaths under a billion little dots there is anything to manage or not to manage. once ur done we shld hit up a waffle house, put the backseats down and sleep

looks nice n cute, controls like shit, the combat is totally unrewarding, the storyline is anime slop, everything is spelled out for you in big shiny multicolored capital letters. big victim of the worst tendencies in game development, namely those towards making Films. i said "this sucks. fuck this" out loud a lot. its sort of cute that they all think and talk like children. i dont really see how anyone calling this a masterpiece has any ground to stand on besides that it is loud and deals with big things. pay attention to HOW these things r dealt with (carelessly, with the stark and blank moralism of children's television)

no other game even tries to make u feel like this
