Trying this out again with the PS5 update. I never played this game on anything else other than my OG PS4, got the plat back in like 2017 and I never touched it since. So it's kinda crazy seeing it in smooth 60 FPS.

Anyways, this game singlehandedly carried me out of Destiny jail back in the day, the gameplay loop was more than addictive enough for me. Pick a spot in the map, shoot all the bad guys there, loot everything, haul it all back so you can upgrade your equipment, and repeat. The gunplay is quite solid, especially for an action RPG. And the weapons customization is just so fun to do, mfs be trembling at the sight of my glow-sighted drum-barrel powerful long-barrel automatic pipe rifle.

Then you have the Commonwealth open world itself, which nails the 50s retrofuturistic aesthetic that Bethesda really likes to focus on. And Fallout 4's colorful-yet-rustic art direction creates a lot of varied atmospheric locales to explore. Bethesda also handles their typical environmental storytelling stuff quite well, so there's usually some interesting tales to stumble upon.

Speaking of stories, there's no escaping NPCs in this game, and the actual dialogue driven stories that you'll be experiencing are just so flat, aside from a couple exceptions. The RPG aspects unfortunately doesn't extend to its story, and even in the dialogue choices, it doesn't feel like you're carving out a path for yourself. It always feels linear and limited, which is not good for a series that has made a name for itself with big narrative playgrounds. And the general quality of writing is just meh. A lot of the dialogues don't convey enough personality, and it can come across as toothless and boring. I do quite like the company of some characters like Nick Valentine and Piper, and there's some good story moments scattered all over the main and side missions, but overall it is not the driving force of the game's fun factor. They did made Far Harbor, which basically transplants an actually good RPG storyline with memorable writing into the game, so it's not like they can't do it. I guess they don't care enough or something.

But yeah, that's it really. Fallout 4 is a fun time when you don't have classic Fallout fans screaming at you. It's a very wide inflatable pool that has a lot of floaties to play with, but it's still an inflatable pool, and you'll probably yearn for the sight and sounds of the real sea at some point.

Gross. Even if you excuse the massive problems with this games story, the gameplay (if you can even call it that) is so banal and lazy it’s insane. It struggles to even be a walking simulator. About 50% of the gameplay is walking, with the other 50% being standing doing nothing while overly long dialogue plays out. Sure, you do sometimes get a dialogue option, but it basically always falls into the category of “option a” and “option a, but slightly different”. It makes no impact on anything.

There’s plenty of good videos that can critique this games story better than I ever could, so I’m not going to bother with that. All I’ll say is that the writer had absolutely no idea about the subjects they were attempting to tackle, and also has zero clue how to write an interesting female character.

NFL Blitz 20-02 delivers a wildly exaggerated, over-the-top take on American football. Expect bone-jarring tackles, impossible aerial feats, and absolutely no penalties. Its arcade-style gameplay prioritizes bombastic action over simulation, making for fast-paced and unpredictable matches. While its depth is limited for serious football fans, NFL Blitz 20-02 is pure, chaotic fun with friends, delivering a nostalgic blast from the past perfect for short bursts of excitement.

NFL Quarterback Club 2002 offers a unique arcade-inspired take on football, focusing on the quarterback's perspective rather than full-team control. While its visuals might be dated by today's standards, it boasts surprisingly fun gameplay, especially with its QB Challenge mode that tests your passing skills. The game features a solid roster of classic NFL stars, and its multiplayer offers some enjoyable, lighthearted competition. While not a deep simulation, NFL Quarterback Club 2002 is a charming alternative for football fans seeking a more casual and accessible experience.

Smuggler's Run: Warzones throws you into a high-speed, off-road smuggling adventure. With a wide variety of vehicles and expansive environments to explore, you'll race across deserts, snow fields, and jungles, dodging pursuers and delivering contraband. While the core gameplay loop can be repetitive, the chaotic fun of multiplayer and the thrill of unlocking new rides offers a satisfying, fast-paced distraction. It delivers some thrills but lacks the lasting appeal of deeper racing experiences.

XGIII: Extreme G Racing is a blisteringly fast futuristic racer that pushes the limits of speed and gravity-defying tracks. The bikes handle responsively, weapons add a layer of strategic chaos, and the pounding soundtrack fuels the adrenaline rush. While visually impressive for its time, XGIII lacks course variety and its difficulty curve can be punishingly steep at times. Nonetheless, for those who crave a pure, white-knuckled sense of speed, XGIII delivers a thrilling experience.

Animal Crossing for the GameCube is a charming, relaxing world where you live a whimsical life alongside a cast of quirky animal villagers. With tasks like fishing, bug catching, fossil hunting, and home decorating filling your day, it's a game about building a cozy community at your own pace. The real-time clock creates a sense of a living world, and holidays and special events bring a delightful sense of surprise. While it may lack defined goals, Animal Crossing offers a uniquely laid-back and heartwarming experience.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance transports the rich lore of the Forgotten Realms into a satisfying action RPG experience. Players choose from three classic archetypes – archer, sorceress, or fighter – and embark on a quest to cleanse the region of evil. While the narrative lacks the depth of its tabletop counterpart, the hack-and-slash combat remains fast-paced and satisfying, particularly in co-op mode. With its detailed environments and faithful adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons 3rd edition rules, Dark Alliance offers a nostalgic dose of dungeon-crawling adventure.

The Simpsons: Road Rage is a hilariously chaotic take on the taxi-driving genre with a Simpsons twist. Players navigate iconic Springfield locations, picking up beloved characters and driving them to their destinations. While its core gameplay is a bit repetitive, the zany Simpsons humor, unlockable characters, and secrets keep things entertaining. If you're a Simpsons fan looking for a lighthearted arcade-style racer, Road Rage delivers a satisfying dose of laughs and reckless driving.

Cel Damage bursts onto the scene with a vibrant, cartoon-inspired demolition derby! Its wacky characters, over-the-top weapons, and chaotic maps deliver pure multiplayer mayhem. While the solo experience can feel shallow, the game truly shines when you're smashing into friends. The cel-shaded graphics hold up surprisingly well, adding a timeless charm to the explosive visuals. Cel Damage is an absolute blast for quick, lighthearted sessions of vehicular carnage.

For 2015, it looks pretty decent. But now the quality bar for fangames has risen higher than ever....

Dark Summit offers a unique blend of snowboarding thrills and investigative mystery. You play as Naya, uncovering secrets atop the unfriendly Mt. Garrick. While the controls can feel a bit stiff compared to genre giants like SSX, the mission-based structure and intriguing plot provide a fresh twist. The visuals are competent for the time, and the soundtrack ramps up the intensity when the action starts. If you're looking for a snowboarding adventure with a little more depth, Dark Summit is worth carving out some time for.

Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius for the Gamecube is a classic example of a rushed movie tie-in game. It suffers from repetitive gameplay where you primarily collect items or engage in basic mini-games. The choppy framerate and bland visuals add to the frustration. Even diehard fans of Jimmy Neutron might find this outing difficult to enjoy, as the controls feel clunky and the objectives lack any real spark.

SSX Tricky is a wild, over-the-top snowboarding extravaganza that epitomizes arcade-style thrills. Its vibrant visuals, catchy soundtrack, and physics-defying tricks make for an exhilarating experience. The introduction of insane Ubertricks adds a delicious layer of absurdity to the classic SSX formula. While the courses can feel limited over time, the sheer personality of the riders and infectious energy make this a must-play for fans of extreme sports or just pure fun.

Resident Evil (2002) for the Gamecube is a fantastic remake that breathes new life into the survival horror classic. The pre-rendered backgrounds and tank controls create a tense atmosphere, while the puzzles, item management, and limited ammo keep the gameplay thrilling. New content like extra areas and a deeper dive into the narrative add replay value for fans, while the survival horror elements remain effective even today.

Mystic Heroes is a Dynasty Warriors-inspired hack-and-slash set in a vibrant world of Chinese mythology. You'll choose from four elemental heroes, each with unique abilities, and battle hordes of enemies across fantastical battlefields. While its core gameplay offers satisfying, over-the-top action, the experience suffers from repetitive level design and a simplistic story. Still, for fans of the genre seeking a colorful, myth-infused adventure, Mystic Heroes can provide a decent amount of mindless, monster-mashing fun.

Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions is a wild ride through Hong Kong's streets, where you blend high-speed driving with a dose of chaotic Yakuza-themed missions. The game thrives on over-the-top destruction; you'll smash through buildings, blast enemies off the road, and perform gravity-defying stunts. However, Wreckless suffers from repetitive mission designs and sometimes frustrating controls, making the initial thrill wear off quickly. While a fun distraction for fans of vehicular mayhem, it lacks the depth and polish to be a true classic.

NBA Courtside 2002 delivers a solid basketball simulation with impressive, for the time, visuals and realistic player likenesses thanks to its motion-capture technology. It offers a good range of game modes and smooth controls, capturing the essence of NBA action. However, its overly simple AI, occasional glitchy animations, and a lack of overall polish hold it back from truly replicating the excitement of a real NBA matchup.

How can asylum be that good and this one that bad?

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle delivers a high-speed, split-narrative thrill ride with Sonic, Shadow, and friends. Its action levels are blazingly fast and packed with spectacle, while the treasure-hunting and mech-shooting stages offer a change of pace. The Chao Garden provides a surprisingly addictive side activity for those who enjoy raising virtual pets. Though the camera can be occasionally unruly and some levels are less polished than others, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle remains an energetic and surprisingly diverse blast from the past.

Legends of Wrestling attempts to capture the nostalgia of professional wrestling's golden era with a roster of iconic legends like Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. Unfortunately, the game suffers from clunky controls, limited movesets, and a shallow gameplay experience. While it might hold some short-term appeal for fans pining for classic wrestling, Legends of Wrestling lacks the depth and polish to offer lasting enjoyment.

1) Один из лучших отрытых миров. Постоянно что-то происходит. Много мини-квестов, да не все из интересные, но делаются быстро и не дают заскучать;
2) Напарники не бесполезные болванчики, а очень полезные. Особенно хочется выделить пса Бумера, который помечает всех противников;
3) Основной сюжет довольно простой без особых замудренностей. Активация основных сюжетных миссий иногда бывает не во время, но опять же понятно когда они начинаются. Разочаровали два брата, потому что у их районов особо нет какого-то отличия, как у сестры;
4) Прокачка отличная. Все что хотел я приобрел уже на половине игры так что не знаю кто вообще реально бы донатил на валюту в этой игре;
5) Музыкальное сопровождение не шедевральное, но определённый вайб освободителя американца создает;
6) Перестрелки в игре сделаны отлично. Напрягал только воздушный транспорт, который, как картонка, отлетает с пол тычка;
7) Локации красивые;
Первый фар край, который я прошел, и он меня не разочаровал. Конечно, с друзьями если проходить, то экспириенс будет в разы лучше, потому что тут можно хорошо провести время в открытом мире и творить всякую ерунду.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is a chaotic, high-octane fighting game that throws iconic Nintendo characters into explosive battles. The gameplay is lightning fast and surprisingly deep, with intricate mechanics like wavedashing that reward dedicated players. Melee boasts a vast roster, addictive multiplayer, and numerous modes, offering endless amounts of fun. With its vibrant visuals and smooth performance, it set the standard for platform fighters and is considered a timeless classic by many.

Disney's Tarzan: Untamed offers a nostalgic return to the world of the beloved animated film but struggles to deliver a consistently satisfying experience. Swinging through the jungle and Tarzan's signature moves feel surprisingly fun, while the colorful levels capture the spirit of the movie. Unfortunately, the platforming can be frustratingly imprecise, and the combat feels repetitive and unsatisfying. While there's some enjoyment to be had, especially for die-hard Tarzan fans, Tarzan: Untamed doesn't live up to its full potential.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon brings the tactical shooter experience to the GameCube, but suffers from technical limitations. While its focus on strategy and squad commands offers satisfying depth, the muddy visuals, choppy animations, and simplified experience compared to other platforms detract from the overall enjoyment. The missions can be replayed for different outcomes, adding some longevity, but the core gameplay feels a bit dated on the GameCube.

James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire delivers a classic Bond experience, blending first-person shooting with thrilling driving sequences and even the occasional stealth segment. While the graphics haven't aged particularly well and the enemy AI can be frustratingly simple, fans of the franchise will relish the chance to wield Bond's iconic gadgets and weapons. The story is a bit corny, yet thoroughly Bond, and there's some genuine replayability thanks to unlockable content and a fun multiplayer mode. It's not going to revolutionize the genre, but Agent Under Fire provides a solid dose of espionage action for nostalgics and Bond enthusiasts alike.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader is a blast from the past that still delivers exhilarating thrills. As a member of Rogue Squadron, you'll dogfight TIE fighters, recreate the Death Star trench run, and battle AT-ATs on Hoth. The graphics, while dated by today's standards, were groundbreaking for the GameCube and still hold a nostalgic charm. Intense missions, smooth controls, and unlockable bonuses will keep Star Wars fans engaged and excited. This slice of Star Wars space combat is pure joy in a digital package.

Driven for the GameCube is a racing game based on the poorly-received 2001 Sylvester Stallone film. Unfortunately, the game follows suit. It features simplistic arcade-style racing, but suffers from bland visuals, repetitive tracks, and an unforgiving difficulty curve. The game's story mode aims to replicate the movie's plot, but fails to deliver anything engaging or memorable. If you're a die-hard fan of the film, you might squeeze a bit of nostalgic value from Driven, but overall it's a lackluster racer best left on the shelf.

Burnout delivers pure arcade racing thrills from start to finish. Its core gameplay revolves around high-speed driving, aggressive near-miss maneuvers, and gloriously spectacular crashes. The sense of speed is exhilarating, and the risk-reward system encourages you to drive like a maniac to earn boosts. While the selection of cars and tracks might feel limited compared to modern racers, Burnout stands as a timeless joyride for those seeking a shot of pure, unadulterated adrenaline.
