Not entirely sure what message Gamefreak would get from this, aside from ‘Sword and Shield would probably sell 50 million more copies if it was on PC.’
Not sure which parts of this game are actually symbolic and which parts are just bad but I’ve deluded myself into thinking they’re symbolically bad(and thus, good?) in order to cope with the fact I had to climb over 200 floors of a randomly generated dungeon.
Playtonic was successfully able to capture the feel of playing a 90s collection, while unfortunately not accounting for the fact that the reason many people enjoyed those games are because they first played them when they were 5.
It’s strange how to they made the villains so cartoonishly evil, as everyone knows that sexual predators, plagiarists, mafia bosses, corrupt CEOs, immoral prosecutors, and tyrannical politicians don’t exist in real life.
This game is a harsh reminder that fans should never care more about a series’ plot more then the actual devs do, lest they end up setting themselves up for disappointment.
An SMT game for people who don’t care for story or mythology, and just want to punch God and Satan in the face using the press turn system(So most SMT fans, really)
