30 Day Video Game Challenge

Another one of these challenges I did on Twitter, so I figured I'd post it here. All comments made (if any) are straight copy/pasted from the Twitter posts, so they'll all be short.

Here's the original Twitter thread, along with the image in case anyone wanted to try it themselves

Day 1 - A game with a colour in the title
Day 2 - A game with a number in the title.

I decided to try and get more creative than just a sequel with 2 in its name... I mean that is here too, but I chose the game for the "4".
Day 3 - A game with a story which I love.

I'll be honest, I don't play games for the story. Most stories don't even stick with me. Last of Us is a very simple story, but the characters made it great.
Day 4 - A game I would rather forget playing.

I can't say there's any game that was so bad I'd want to forget playing it in general, but I guess if I didn't play BOTW then TOTK might be even better than it already is.
Day 5 - A game that needs to be played loud.

Any rhythm game could count honestly.
Day 6 - A game with a soundtrack that makes you want to dance

I'm not a dancer so this is really hard... I could have picked a Just Dance game or something, but I haven't played any of them.
Day 7 - A game for short, casual play sessions.
Day 8 - A game whose soundtrack you could hear all day

Using my favourite game ever in a no-dupe challenge always makes its placement tough.
Day 9 - A game that makes me happy

Most games make me happy. It's why I play them 🤔
Day 10 - A game that makes you sad

That scene
Day 11 - A game I never get tired of
Day 12 - A game from my preteen years

This was my favourite game for a long time. Also one of the first Gamecube games I owned, along with Sonic Adventure 2.
Day 13 - A game from the 80s-90s

I'm not 100% sure if this is asking for a game from 1980-1989, or 1980-1999. It's worded like the latter, but there are a few odd grammar hiccups in the challenge, and just 1980-1989 is much better as a challenge.
Day 14 - A game with an in-game couple that I love

Drake and Elena. That scene of them on the couch playing Crash Bandicoot was such a great slice of life scene in such a heavy action packed series.
Day 15 - A game that's a remake or remaster

Easy choice. This was like the gold standards of remakes, and it's crazy to think it came out only 6 years after the original. You just can't get that level of improvements in games these days from that short of a timespan.
Day 16 - A game that's a classic favourite

Like...a classic for me or just in general? I'll play it safe and go for both.
Day 17 - A game I love to play with friends

I don't have friends to game with, but if I did then Mario Party is always a good time.
Day 18 - A game from the year I was born.

I've played surprisingly few 1993 games.
Day 19 - A game that makes me think about life.

I can't think of a single game that makes me think about life. I looked up lists and it's a bunch of indie games I haven't played (except Journey which I have played and think nothing about). So I'm going a different route.

Geoguessr is a game that quite literally makes you think about life. As in makes you think about where the specific location in the image is from in life.
Day 20 - A game with multiple endings

I'm definitely using "multiple" very loosely, but for me Oddworld was the first game I played that had a "bad ending". The fact you could beat the game and still lose, complete with an animated death cutscene was crazy to me as a child.
Day 21 - A game with a persons name in the title.

I'm assuming this means a real person, otherwise it'd be way too easy. Tony Hawk is then the obvious choice, but I decided to go further. A game based on a fictional version of a real person.
Day 22 - A game that's a classic favourite

Why is this exact prompt being used again?
Day 23 - A game that I think everybody should play

I'm not really the kind of person to try and tell people what they should or shouldn't play, but playing the games that kickstarted a worldwide phenomenon definitely seems like a good choice.
Day 24 - A game by a company I wish would still exist

Radical Entertainment.
Day 25 - A game I love but critics/press hate

I had to look up some games since I didn't know the critic reviews off by heart - but I can't believe this only has a 67 on metacritic! I had a blast with it, without any nostalgia for the original.
Day 26 - A game whose graphic/art style I love

This game turned menus into a work of art
Day 27 - A game whose ending breaks your heart

With great power...
Day 28 - A game with gameplay I love

This is such a generic prompt lol. It makes picking one both very easy and very hard because of how many choices there are.
Day 29 - A game I remember from my childhood.
Day 30 - A game that reminds me of myself

I'm not 100% sure what this means but I'll give it a shot. This is my 2nd favourite game, and unlike my #1 (FF7) it isn't as universally beloved, so I guess it feels like a more personal favourite.

And with that I'm done!
