The best post-apocalyptic RPG ever made. Whether you've played the other games in the series or not, you'll enjoy this game if you're a fan of party-based RPGs.
There are many different ways to approach situations in Wasteland 3, both in and out of combat. Skill checks, reputation, companions and past choices all contribute to how things will play out. And when I say choices matter, they really, really matter. A simple decision you made hours ago can come back around to bite you, or help you, later on. There's almost never a purely 'good' outcome, and moral decisions are a lot greyer than in other RPGs.
As someone who's not really a fan of turn-based Action Point combat, I still really enjoyed the combat in this game. With complete flexibility in how you set up your squad, you can approach combat however you want. Hack or disable robots and turrets to give you an edge, use the environment to your advantage, or just brute force your way through it all. The choice is yours.
The game's presentation is also excellent. Fantastic sound design, voice acting and music with great visuals. Quests are mostly well constructed, and it's clear the focus was on quality rather than quantity since there's not too many side quests, but they're all substantial and fleshed out.
All in all, a brilliant game for fans of tactical RPGs, or anyone who's looking for a good post-apocalyptic game with a great story, characters and combat.

This is the messiest, most inaccessible brick wall of a game I've ever played. Ridiculously obtuse, broken mechanics with one of the most complicated and unrefined interfaces ever. A borderline nonsensical story that definitely isn't helped by the shockingly poor translation. Barely functioning multiplayer that involves messing around with ports and IP addresses in the game console just to be able to connect to each other.
This game is a complete mess, but I played this game with two friends from start to finish...
...and we loved every second of it.

A slightly more bloated take on the Doom 2016 formula, in all aspects: story, mechanics, content. Where Doom 2016 was beautiful and unique in its relative simplicity and freeform combat, Eternal stuffs in a load of new combat mechanics that must be mastered to succeed, leading to a far more limiting combat experience. The game feels like Doom 2016, but it does not flow like it.
Same goes for the story. While Doom 2016 rarely ever bogged the player down with story moments, cutscenes and lore, Eternal's story and lore play a far more prominent role, and there's a lot more of it. I found myself skipping cutscenes and audio logs, just wanting to get back to the action, while in Doom 2016, the sparse story and lore made me enjoy the background lore a lot more.
However, none of this is objectively 'bad', and the changes made in this game may be well suited to some people, less so for others. This is still an extremely solid game and I very much enjoyed my time with it, but I often found myself wondering: "Why I don't I just replay Doom 2016 instead?"

One of, if not the hardest, game I've ever played. A great action game with an incredibly deep combat system and a wide variety of enemies and bosses.
The story is slightly more straightforward than Nioh 1, though it still expects you to play close attention to have any idea of what's going or why you're doing anything. Since the game is both a sequel and prequel, you don't have to have played Nioh 1, but there's some great moments and added impact for those who did play it.
If you like samurais and Japanese history and mythology, or if you're just looking for a well-crafted action game, this is the game for you. Just be prepared for brutal difficulty.

If you're looking for a game to scratch that BioWare-style RPG itch, then definitely give this game a shot. It's got quests, companions, character building, and a great setting and world to explore.
The effort that went into this game's presentation is incredible, especially considering that the studio only consists of around twenty people. The graphical quality, art direction, voice acting, characters and world design are excellent, far beyond what I would have expected from a studio of that size. It's a huge achievement.
Unfortunately its held back by some lacklustre quest design, slightly simplistic combat as well as some poor writing at times. The story meanders around, lacking a clear focus before ending abruptly. It's a shame, because the rest of the game's presentation left me wanting more of its world and characters.
