20. Shuffle your backlog and play the first game that appears

First game added to the backlog
This game has been rotting on my shelf for years, I haven't even put the disc in let alone launch it.
Last game added to the backlog
I loved Portal 2 and have always been hankering for more Portal. Hopefully, this'll help fill the portal shaped hole in my heart.
The game with the highest average rating
This and Disco Elysium: The Final Cut were tied so I chose this one. Outer Wilds just seems like such a special game that I had to give it another go. I have actually started this game a few years back but never got anywhere close to finishing it, hopefully this'll be the year that changes.
The game with the lowest average rating/no rating
I have no clue how this game appeared in my Steam library. All I know is that it's a student project. It also has no rating so maybe it'll turn out to be a hidden gem.
A game from the 1980's
I have always wanted to finally finish the classic 2D Mario games since I love the Super Mario series. Especially after having a blast with the original, I'm very much looking forward to this one.
A game from the 1990's
After playing (unfortunately not finishing) Armored Core VI, I loved it so much. So much so that I'm very curious to see the roots of the series.
A game from the 2000's
I want to know what the hype is all about. I did enjoy the Resident Evil 2 Remake, so I got high hopes for this one.
A game from the 2010's
I've heard nothing but good things about Rain World, and that it's brutal... But I'll try to push through.
A game from the 2020's
Another case of putting a game on the backburner right at the start, only for it to rot in my Steam library.

Random game from the shuffle
Time to dust off one of the free games from Epic Games. Happy to have gotten a decent looking game from the shuffle.

11

An indie game by a developer you haven't played anything from
The game that is the most popular
I might sub this out for second place, which God of War (2018), because I already know everything in Undertale. I have watched quite a bit on YouTube, but we'll see when we get there.

13

The game that is the least popular
The least popular was Divergence, which is already on the list. So I'll be doing second place then.
The game that was released the earliest
I've tried to get into this game numerous times but could never. Maybe this'll be the year that changes.

15

A game from your favorite genre
A game from your least favorite genre
I do not particularly like traditional fighting games because of the seemingly steep learning curve.
A game with the most beautiful cover
I really struggled with this, especially sifting through hundreds of games. I don't think this is my favorite box art, but it's pretty and I want to play it.
A game that someone recommended to you
I have a bad memory so I can't think of what has been recommended to me. In my my friend group, I'm usually the one who's recommending stuff. My friend @Subby15052's recommendation is what pushed me over to edge to get this game, but this might just be a temporary entry that I'll swap with another one of theirs or someone else's recommendation.

19

Aa game that was nominated for a Game Award in any category
Best Indie/Debut Indie Game 2023
Random game from the shuffle (Finished)
About time I finish this game.
