Would highly recommend Hades, Revita, and Enter the Gungeon. I like seeing Monolith and Cadence that high up there, both overlooked by a lot of people. Curious what problems you have with Spelunky, I'd probably rank it pretty highly on a list like this.

Yeah I'm very interested in Hades and will play Enter the Gungeon at some point too. Revita I never heard of before but it looks cool thanks.

This list isn't meant to be accurate other than just my tastes. Most of everything after the top 10 I would have spent just 30min-1 hour or so on it and then dropped to never touch again. Spelunky was a pretty old one for me that I just remember dropping it fast. I probably didn't give it a fair play.

I think Spelunky's probably worth another shot at some point too in that case. It's a masterpiece in emergent gameplay mechanics, every individual piece is simple but together it creates a really unique kind of chaos, and everything interacts in really neat ways. It's got a bit of a rough learning curve at the beginning but I think it's worth sticking with.
