It's a good movie, but the gameplay itself I can take it or leave it. Regardless of that I can't say I really dislike the game in any way and I'm walking away satisfied. The combat is fun and it's repetitive, but not to the point where I was dreading more of it. The side stories give this game a lot of its charm but I wasn't very motivated to get them done at a certain point. The game didn't seem to punish me for not doing them and really appreciate that. It's a bit longer overall than I'd personally like.

I don't necessarily understand the immense hype for this game but I'm sure that comes down to it being not entirely my thing. I'd be interested in playing more some time.

A good fun Mario game. I wish I could say it was the 5 star experience many others are saying, but It didn't really blow my mind. There's a lot of creativity on display here but unfortunately it feels like it's spread too thin. The wonder flowers are usually pretty neat but never insane and they repeat a few times. I like the badge system but they have to try really hard to convince you to try different ones. I probably would've used the float cap the whole game if I hadn't decided the whip was just more fun. The final reward badge is funny and I think it's a good reward.

I like the new variety of never before seen enemies in the game. The boss fights are all pretty lame, but Mario boss fights are never good. Even so, the final boss was kind of a letdown.

It's kinda fucked up that there's a big selection of characters and half of them are boo boo baby mode. One of my friends wanted to play as Yoshi, but that meant half the challenge and no powerups. No powerups meant they couldn't get certain coins.

The talking flowers were extremely pointless.

I can imagine this game is a nightmare for new players (intentionally so), but as a kid I had nothing but time and the whole thing is ingrained in my mind. The game was unplayable for a long time on windows 10 but with the new remaster I found it was like riding a bike. Underneath the intentional bullshit is an enjoyable and challenging platformer. Love most of the bosses.

As far as PS2 era horror games go this one is pretty well above average. I love the vibe and I think the game starts off really strong. My experience was kinda broken because I played half the game with invisible enemies thinking it was supposed to be that way. As a result I was low on supplies and didn't get good until way later. When I subtract the frustration stemming from that I think the game is actually pretty well designed and I liked exploring the mansion. The puzzles are generally not that complex but I'll take straightforward stuff any day over wandering around aimlessly. The voice acting is terrible most of the time but I found it really funny. Story is pretty whatever.

As mentioned before my opinion on the combat was undercut by issues with my third world PS2. However, I do think some of the chapter 3 enemies are really annoying. When they shoot projectiles it feels straight up unfair.

Hella confusing, I barely understood what was happening half the time. Not the most fun gameplay in the world but I kinda loved just seeing what happens next. Game has more than its fair share of inconveniences but there's nothing that ruins the whole experience. So despite the middle of the road gameplay, I never felt like I couldn't keep going. I still had to take breaks every now and then since it can get repetitive.|

Anyway glad I played.

As all idlers, it's dopamine slop. The bare minimum of what can be considered a video game. It's basically a fidget spinner. Shout out to SimpleFlips.

Had so much fun with this game and I'm really happy about it. The Pikmin games have such a high standard of quality (except for the one) and it survives all the way through to its fourth iteration. I was apprehensive about the dog but when I learned it was basically a new take on a second captain I was fully on board. The way this series changes with each sequel is perfect. Adding quality of life changes to general gameplay while introducing new mechanics and content that don't overstep what makes the games so fun since the very first one.

My complaints are that managing your squad combined with Oatchi can be a real pain, and pikmin behavior around movable objects has some weird quirks. I also think there are a couple too many timed challenges.

I wanted to like this game really badly. I had heard people did not get the game they were expecting and I thought I could appreciate it regardless since I had no expectations. Unfortunately I can't say I enjoyed most of my time with the game. This is in large part due to the gameplay in the mid section with enemies. I would enjoy the game MUCH more if the "combat" segments were gone and it was just an exploration puzzle game. They throw way too many enemies at you sometimes for how shitty the gunplay (intentionally) is. Frequently they give you ammo refills just to immediately throw enemies at you to blow it on. I never felt like there was a choice to stealth or fight, I could only blast away and hopefully not miss for the next encounter. If you die you go back to a checkpoint which can suck when the spot you're dying is after a bunch of cutscenes and mandatory interactables. The game looks great but the levels can get confusing since things look samey. I wouldn't complain about getting lost nearly as much if I wasn't dreading more shooting the whole time. This part of the game I'm complaining about weighs the game down so significantly since it makes up a lot of it. At least I found the puzzles fun.

Although I got basically the worst ending, I think there is a chance I get filtered when I go for the rest, so I'm gonna mark it completed now. If I wasn't told what this game was like before going in I likely never would have given it the time of day. I think that's what the average blind experience would be. Viewing it as something to overcome was a really strong motivator and it gives a great deal of value to every minor victory. It also makes the big discoveries that much more satisfying. The game has some pretty sickening content that manages to work in its favor. I can't think of another game that was able to elicit such honest feelings of revulsion and discomfort. It is not for the faint of heart.

The game is unfortunately pretty unstable. It's one thing to lose tons of progress from unfair mechanics, but the game crashing feels a million times worse.

Great with your buddies. Game really just exists and isn't that amazing but it was never meant to be. It's like a shitty Risk of Rain.

Finally played it all the way through with no warp zones. My life is the same before and after.

Want to love this game real bad but ultimately it’s just okay. The music is obviously the highlight. The gameplay starts out feeling really fantastic but it never feels like it goes above and beyond after the first few levels. There’s only a few different enemy types and very similar bosses which is the most disappointing for me. I thought the final boss was by far the most fun part. If only more of the game had interesting set pieces.

I think this game would benefit a lot from some added readability. Things like distinct sound queues for enemies and/or some sort of effect to discern them among all the particle effects. Story portions are cool but sometimes look kinda shitty with their animation.

Lots of style, lacking on substance.

Childhood staple. Totally doable with no guide which makes it good. A few chuckles to be had.

Writing as a PvE Co-op exclusive player.

Survival games in this format are nothing short of miserable. There are no forks in progression and you have one singular goal at any time. This singular goal usually entails grinding the same subset of enemies or scouring for resources for hours at a time. People generally praise this game for the combat, which is mostly good but sometimes frustrating. Nothing new if you're familiar with Battlerite. You get a lot of abilities and spells but they range from useless to redundant. The sunlight mechanic is exclusively annoying. The boss battles, specifically at the end of the game, are the highlights. It doesn't justify the games flaws for me though.

There are many features that exist for PvP alone, so when carried over into PvE the game gets 100x more insufferable. If you play PvE it is a necessity that you enable warping with items and disable durability.

I do not imagine there is a world where playing this game solo is a good idea. Friends make it tolerable.
