I believe the 2009 version captures a more memorable experience with sound and art direction, but the 2020 version is one where you'll go "Oooh pretty graphics and animation."

Both play identical, but 2020 has item encumberment practically removed and 8 directional rolling.

what an incredible odd game. It's charmingly bad, like funny bad. it's one of those games you can tell are made by humans that are just scrambling shit together. has really dope anime sequences for some reason though.

PLEASE Give us the definitive edition on PC for the love of god. They're never gonna do it, but man dude this game would be up there with 5 in terms of one-playthrough joyness.

an absolute masterpiece in terms of "gun" feel, enemy design, sound design, and engine optimization with the amount of enemies that can be sustained on the screen.

i was a little baby when i played this, but it held the number one spot in my heart back then, and maybe it will for you too.

dead space 1 always paled in comparison of fluidity of it's successor. this remake brought it up to speed with allat, and still kept what made the usg ishamura so dark and desolate to traverse.
