2019

Game is fine, but it's plagued with technical problems. Tries to capture the magic of PS2-era 3D platformers, but never does anything interesting enough to break out of the shadows of the greats.

Super chill card game with a Victorian-era story a la Pride and Prejudice or Bridgerton. Fun to play when winding down for the evening and watching TV.

My first Trackmania game. Really enjoyed it and would still be playing to this day if the Giantbomb server didn't die 3 weeks after release.

The change to a more open-world structure and higher focus on crafting/survival mechanics eventually wore me down and left me bailing on this game about 75% of the way through. The story wasn't as interesting as the first one and couldn't carry me through to the end.

Hugely disappointing game for me, as somebody who Platinumed the first 2 games. The story was trash, the planets weren't all that interesting, and the constant rotating of the Map menu based on your direction makes navigation an absolute nightmare. The character tree changes were good and the sound effects on the guns were awesome, but overall this game was very disappointing for me. Maybe I'll come back to it during a lull, but the consensus amongst the dos2-crew was that it was a disappointing sequel.

Finished all bosses through Isle 2 before abandoning. This game lives on aesthetic, and dies on gameplay. I think the game would've been better as more of a Megaman clone rather than a boss rush game. Fighting boss after boss after boss got tiresome for me and thus lead me to abandoning it. Obviously really well made and I can see why it has its fans, but ultimately it fell short for me.

I've tried for 22 hours (and started 3 different save files) of gameplay time to get into this game, but something just keeps me from seeing it all the way through, which is a bummer for me as I really enjoyed XCom EU/EW.

Enough changes to the formula compared to Regency Solitaire to warrant a full-fledged sequel, but after a while the changes began to wear thin for me. On top of moving houses at the same time I was playing this, I eventually abandoned it.

A well made homage to the OG Castlevania games with modern touches. More forgiving than the games it's emulating kept me wanting to see the whole thing through.

The game itself is nothing special, but like many social deduction games of its ilk, excels on the people you play with, and I would be remiss to say I didn't greatly enjoy my time with this game.

I love this game, and eventually I'll get my ass to finish the campaign (about halfway through now). This game got me to do what RCT never could, and that's give a damn about what the theme park actually looks like outside of just building dope ass rollercoasters. I think it's probably for that reason that after deep diving for a few weeks, I always have to give myself a several month break, because making a park both functional and aesthetically pleasing is a lot more work than just min-maxing the scenarios.

A decent first-person puzzle adventure game that looks great and has a good story. The movement is a little sluggish, which becomes annoying when the puzzle solutions require multiple back and forth trips across sections of the island. But overall I enjoyed my time with this one.

All-time classic. I've played through this game 5 times and have enjoyed it every time. Naughty Dog is untouchable when it comes to the story-based cinematic adventure game, and this game is the one that cemented it.

A technical marvel. The horror aspects of this game were really well done and are the things that stand out most to me for this entry in the franchise. I'm not a big horror person, but I really enjoyed the way it's done in this series and Part 2 nailed it even more than the first game.

The game itself was too long for me, there were multiple stretches of game that felt padded out for the sake of being longer. If they cut about 5 hours across the length of the game, I think this game would be a Top 10 for me, but alas, by the time I reached the 20 hour mark, I wanted it to be over. The entire Santa Barbara section is pointless. I enjoyed the story, but thought the first one was better.

Did everything there is to do in this game besides collect all of the mongol artifacts and records. This is the quintessential Ubisoft Open World game dressed up with the Sony production values. Good for what it is, but anybody saying this is the GOTY is wrong.
