You know that feeling you get when you’re playing a really old game? Sometimes it could be a game you didn’t even feel that nostalgic for. Still, for some reason, it feels like the game is alive, trying to tell you something. Like it’s immortal. You just play and you learn something new. Sometimes there’s just a feeling a game gives you and it sets the tone for a certain time period in your life. It’s like a movie or a song. It’s both of those things, plus you can influence other people in the game. I hesitate to say “NPCs” or “characters,” just because when you help those people it really feels like you helped them it feels like you’re a better person for helping other people.

With all that said, I’m super biased and I know probably no other human will have this list. I already know nobody will agree, I just want to share what influenced my life, my childhood, and my desire to help people and smile while doing it.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham Asylum
This is the best Batman graphic novel. And it’s not even a book. You really feel like you’re in the world of DC, and you’re living through a night Batman actually goes through in the comics. When you look at the skyline and think: "I wonder what [DC character] is doing right now," that’s when you know this game succeeds.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim and the world of The Elder Scrolls singlehandedly became my favorite fantasy world just after a few months of playing. It offers so much freedom, which is the most important thing in a video game, at least to me.

I never knew a first person shooter could look, sound, and feel so cool.

Honorable Mention #2:
Not a huge fighting game fan, but I am a huge DC fan. This game didn’t disappoint.
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
Honorable Mention #3:
I can finally fly as Superman in a game and feel super instead of having to worry about weird Pterodactyls attacking Metropolis. Also, it should’ve just been called Lego DC.
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
Honorable Mention #4:
It's Star Wars. It's for kids, but it's Star Wars.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Mario Party 8
Mario Party 8
Actually… this is the best board game ever. Star Wars: Battlefront just has better gameplay. But this game is awesome.
Marvel's Spider-Man
Marvel's Spider-Man
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
You want to be a Marvel Comics expert without reading the comics? Just play this game and do all the trivia. The only problem is you won’t know the issues. But yeah. This game is really fun.

This game just never gets old to me. I love that I can go back to Peter's apartment whenever. I love the freedom you get in this game. This really feels more like a "what if you were Spider-Man" simulation more so than a video game. Everything about it is just awesome. And everything wrong about it is just something to laugh at for me. Except those mega times. There’s nothing funny about those.
Star Wars: Battlefront
Star Wars: Battlefront
Star Wars: Battlefront II
Star Wars: Battlefront II
Galactic Conquest might be the funnest board game ever.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Thanks to this game, I get to answer "yes" when someone asks, "have you ever been in love?" Haha, just joking. Kind of. But in all seriousness, I think this might be the best Star Wars story ever. It certainly has some of the best characters. I say Chewie is my favorite character just because everyone knows who he is, but deep down, I just think of Zaalbar when I think of all the reasons I like Chewie. They’re pretty similar, but Zaalbar's story has a bit more depth , even with the books Chewie's in.
Super Mario 64 DS
Super Mario 64 DS
Honorable Mention #5:
I think this was a huge upgrade from the original. And I can basically play as whoever I want at any time, which is pretty neat.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
You can play Mario Party 8 with anyone, which is why it’s my favorite Wii game. But this game… it might be one of the best crossovers of all time. This game is Nintendo at its best.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
Like, Arkham Asylum, Splinter Cell: Conviction is my favorite spy movie. You really feel the suffering of Sam Fisher in this game, and his anger… dang. I remember feeling like I could actually break anything after finishing the Third Echelon HQ level. Since I broke my wrist, I’ve never had that sensation again.
The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Honorable Mention #1:
You can live in England and it’s co-op. Not a lot of games offer that.
