finally some good fucking 2d mario

has some fun stuff here and there but the story is way too corny to take anything seriously. gameplay loop gets super tiring after a few hours too

had some fun with it back in the day but ultimately ditched because i didn't want to spend $500 to win

gameplay sucks but it's kind of funny that it exists i suppose

phantom liberty is getting the love it deserves but even the base game is pretty great now that everything is fixed. if it weren't for the disastrous launch this shit would be universally acclaimed

base game is great but octo expansion is where it really shines

quite possibly the best combat system i've ever experienced in a video game. genuinely amazing stuff

it's an enjoyable game but as a hotline miami fan playing this the whole time i was just thinking "this feels like hotline miami and isn't that original." i know it wasn't meant to be a knockoff but i still can't help from nicknaming it call center orlando nonetheless.

stand by my opinion that this is mid. boss runs are unbearable, levels are cramped as shit and the soul/human form mechanic is trash. consumable heals are also broken
