Will I ever finish Zelda II, start Four Swords Adventures, or force my way through Oracle of Ages? Who knows!

Excluding Twilight Princess Picross

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
Sometimes I feel Ocarina creeping over this one as my favorite, but then I get to play Wind Waker again and remember why I love it so much. Uh, nostalgia helps, though. I don't know what my first video game ever was, but this is the first video game I have memory of playing.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
There have been a weird amount of Ocarina haters in recent years, I don't get it. Maybe it isn't the "greatest game of all time" like the early internet would have you believe, but that doesn't mean we should bring it down nowadays.

2

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Better than Link to the Past in every single way if you ask me. It does have some issues, but ultimately I find this to be the most well-made package of all 2D Zelda games. Hell, maybe even of all Zelda games in general.

3

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
In my opinion, this is the Zelda game that feels the most like an adventure. I also think this is the best artstyle of the series. I think all of them have their charms and want to see all of them come back, but man I love the fantasy-realism.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
zelda fans understand that linearity isnt automatically bad challenge (impossible)

Really, though, this one has the best story in the franchise and best cast of characters. I also find the combat very fun and deeper than it often gets credit for. That being said, this is probably the messiest 3D Zelda, and motion controls are automatically going to throw some people off. Neither of those make it bad, though.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
When I first played this, I hailed it as my new favorite Zelda game. Well, time has gone on and I've become a bit jaded on it. Yes, I still love it and look forward to its sequel, but it's very much the most exhausting Zelda.

6

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
I always figured I'd like this game quite a bit, but I never thought I'd like it this much. While I do prefer button controls, the touch screen controls here work well and creates its own sort of fun, so its biggest "issue" isn't for me. The other big "issue" is the Temple of the Ocean King, which... what the hell? HOW do people not like this dungeon?! It's so cool and fun. I might barter to say this is the most "cool" game in the series. It uses the system to the fullest extent and has the most unique, interesting, and satisfying puzzles in the series because of it.

But don't get me wrong, I have hang-ups. I won't get much into it, but I'll just say that traveling in this game blows chunks, and it's easily the weakest soundtrack in the series... really, one of the weakest Nintendo soundtracks. Linebeck's theme slaps, though).

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
Idk why but I always have a hard time finding things to say about this game and the first HW. Basically, this is just a step-up in most ways, and seeing more of the BotW cast was nice.

8

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
This could be a favorite 2D Zelda contender if 100%ing it wasn't complete torture.

Anyway, very fun game, and probably the most I've played of a game's randomizer.

9

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
Yeah, I slightly prefer this version over 2019, but I can see myself going back on that at some point. I've soured on this game a bit over the years, mostly just because I played it so much when I first played it, so I've become numb to it, plus constantly going to the menu really is draining at some point. Still, it's a delightful little game.

Dampé can kiss my ass.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
Just didn't get into it as much as people hyped it up. Watched lots of YouTube videos on it when I was a kid, so it's partially my fault, but I also don't think this is as substantial of an experience as the other 3D games.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
This is worse than Phantom Hourglass in nearly every way. Credit where it's due, the soundtrack is absolutely better, and I think there's much better worldbuilding and overall better characters than PH, but otherwise.... eh. I hate traveling in this game, they watered down the main gimmick dungeon because of the complainers, dungeons aren't as fun, puzzles are way simplier, and they took out the really useful warping. Ugh, such a shame cause I loved this one when I would rent it as a kid.

I think I would have adored this thing if I grew up in the 80s. I do love it, though, but it's... old.

15

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Didn't live up to the hype for me. I tried playing this multiple times as a kid, and I so happened to get physically ill each time I tried (I'm sure it was a coincidence) so that put me off it for years. By the time I finally played it, I had already fallen in love with its sequel which I think is better in every way lol. Still a good game, probably better than the two above it, but this is subjective.

16

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
I played it singleplayer which definitely hampers the experience. Surprisingly ok of a time, though. Would be more fun with other people, but I'm not sure it would even be enough to push it a space higher.

17

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords - Anniversary Edition
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords - Anniversary Edition
This one I actually did play with a friend and that helped, but it's ultimately the most shallow Zelda game, so only so much a friend can do to help. Buuut, I adored the levels based off other Zelda games, they were the most fun and a great nostalgia trip. I would die on sight if they did that with a 3D Zelda.

18

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
Lots of creative ideas here, maybe being the most creative of all Zelda games. But I was just so disappointed by this game when I finally played it. This deserves to be higher on the list, but I just don't enjoy it more than the others - I'd sooner play any of them.
