The motion controls really didn't work that well and unfortunately they were the main draw here. If a remake with more traditional controls ever comes out I will give this one another shot.

Tough to rate this one as I only ever played with strangers, which really seems to hamstring how much enjoyment you can get out of this. I got through a few quests but realized I would only get further if some friends joined me. It does seem very fun when everyone's working together. Maybe some day?

UPDATE: I finally played with my friends, and the results were mixed. At times when the whole crew was working in tandem to sail and hunt for buried treasure I had a lot of fun, and there were moments in the game that had us just laughing our butts off- watching my crewmates run around drunk and puke all over each other while I steered the ship being a personal favorite. Unfortunately for a game that's been out for years and has received constant updates since then, this was still glitchy as hell, which killed our momentum several times. I'm guessing that's the last I'll play of Sea of Thieves, the 3 star rating doesn't change.

A 5-star game in 1985, sure. It saved the whole industry! But it's not like I'd really enjoy playing this all that much in 2020.

Contains the basics of Metroid, but the DS was just not capable of producing a decent 3-D Metroid game.

A solid port of two very dated games

Replaying this one after a decade

This was on Game Boy Color. Very early template for what would become much better RPGs. Solid port, too, much better than the shit they recently released on Switch.

A swing and a miss on Telltale's first attempt at a Sam and Max game, but the later installments were much better.

I remember this being terrifying. I wonder if it holds up over a decade later?

I liked a lot of the ideas here, taking the series in a different direction and making this a more open-world game. But the characters all felt lifeless and it was just so buggy. It's a shame, I'd like to see more Mass Effect!

An incredible idea in theory, where you could pop in almost any word into your DS and use it in the game. Unfortunately it turns out there just wasn't enough here to spark much creativity. Call on a T-Rex every time you need to kill something, add a bridge when you need to cross a gap, put on wings if you need to fly... it's all pretty basic!
