so many people are so nostalgia blind for this game but i can't even blame em it's actually good

objectively a better game than sunshine

minesweeper is tied with picross as the best solitaire game

maybe not the most perfect game ever but it was such a deeply formative experience for me, classic case of right game played at the right point in my life

a night in the woods if it was good

i feel like there's 30 other games I could compare this to, but I'm just gonna say that it's good. great music, great aesthetics, pretty good story (given the game's genre and runtime), but the last few levels can be irritating at times, and the game is so short that "the last few levels" is like 40% of the game's runtime. Still very good tho

It's more Y0, I'll give it that. Bosses are kind of annoying with how much they heal and dodge, and the pacing of the story is kind of terrible, but it's still a pretty fun experience, just don't go in expecting it to live up to the quality of Zero.

erm... this one is kind of... "cringe"?? like you have these characters.... and... they are kind of... "cringe"?? the best relationship in this game is aiba making fun of date but i wish she was always just in the funny marketable mascot minion comedy character form and not the 9 millionth horny bait character in this Murder Mystery game about Murder and Mysteries

worth running around in for a bit but don't go in expecting much

not aged amazing in a few ways (pikmin ai is extremely bad in this one, and some bosses are stupid hard and got rebalanced in 2) but still a cool game to play over the course of a few days

the journey is more interesting than the destination.

in non-cryptic terms, figuring everything out by typing in keywords in a shit database is cool, but the actual solution to the mystery is odd, to put it lightly. still think it's worth a try if you grab it on sale for real cheap

what a way to end a series. really reminiscent of Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma™ in that the game is very whatever to play and that some of the twists are fucking hilarious because of how ass the writing is

2016

probably just got unlucky but there were at least two separate times i killed all of the enemies in a room and the door didn’t open, walked around in circles with the music still in action mode for probably 20 minutes each time figuring i missed an enemy or switch or something. nope, just bugged.

all in all it’s okay, gets points for the soundtrack and then promptly loses them for your run of the mill video game bullshit; having to replay large portions if you die at the wrong times, an unneeded weapon/player leveling system, weapon imbalance (railgun is stupidly op against anything with greater than zero health that it makes the plasma gun functionally useless, not to mention the pistol), a few enemies that seem to serve purely as bullet sponges, and the aforementioned rare but deeply irritating bugs

far weaker start than pmd2 that goes on for a bit too long but eventually gets up to proper levels of quality after 7ish hours. there are a few moments in this game story-wise i think i like even more than similar moments in sky and it (mostly) plays better than sky but i still prefer sky because i haven't been that impressed with the music and visual direction of the series post-ds

also yeah, it's really difficult to ignore how weak this one starts whereas with sky it's not as hard to shrug off like 2-ish hours that isn't even at the very beginning

also also sky's postgame runs laps around this one's
