I really like this game! I think it has the best plot out of any Zelda game, as well as best dungeons. The only issues I have with it are that sometimes the exploration feels a little slow or repetitive, but for the most part it's a great time from start to finish. It'll be interesting to see how the switch version compares without as much reliance on motion controls

this game is weird. like 60% of it is peak fiction but there's just so much bloat that i can't hold it up to 999's standard. it has a ton of moments in it that i consider to be some of the best parts of the whole series, but there are some days when a session just drags. puzzles were good.

Man, I don't know how they made this game as good as it is. Aside from the last little artifact hunt at the end, this game is incredibly solid even today. The world is very fun to explore and it has a lot of memorable segments and boss fights.
I'm also very impressed by this game's storytelling. You can proceed through this entire game without reading a single word about space pirates, or chozo, or phazon, or you can get the whole plot told to you through computer screens and ancient walls. This sort of storytelling is incredibly good for this type of game, and I have yet to see a game do it better.

I played this expecting it to be more like reading through a history book than playing a JRPG, but I was pleasantly surprised. This game still has a really engaging plot and some well written characters. The materia system also got me to like a combat system that I'm usually not that big on.

This game is better than I thought it'd be. I had a lot of fun with the combat. Plot is also pretty interesting, with some memorable characters like Kyle. I definitely think it could've been better, but it was good for an action game. Also had really solid atmosphere

Was well worth the wait! Pretty much a full fledged game that I got for free thanks to kickstarter. Solid level design, story, and a fun minigame.

Kino level design and plot, you love to see it

Very enjoyable but it feels too similar to the previous campaign. Can't complain much though, given that it's free.

i love this game so fuckin much, it has amazing characters, themes, and story. this game is not even comparable with the rest of DR in my opinion, idk how kodaka did that but he did

Blue Lions route. I really liked some of the characters in this game, and a lot of that group was in Blue Lions, so that's nice. Dimitri is especially good and is a great take on the standard "Lord" character, though I think even he could've been done better.
this game having 3/4 routes was weird. the way that the early chapters's conflicts tied especially well in with BL characters made me think that pre-timeskip was different depending on your house, but i guess i was just lucky. the game not changing stuff around based on what route you pick in the early game is pretty lame and is the main reason i haven't done a replay. also i was falling asleep mid-combat towards the end of the game and started skipping months just to finish the game sooner. still good but too much content for its own good, i think

this game really introduced 10 main characters to you at the start of the game and expected shit to just work out, huh
it's a good game and i give it some credit because it's the first one in a long arc, but man, that was a very bold writing decision and i don't think it paid off. i also think this game's sidequests were significantly worse than previous games, partly because for 70% of them Rean is the only guy in the party (less screentime for other characters, less interesting dialogue) and because that same percentage has all of them in the same fuckin small town. now, crossbell showed us that focusing on an area can work, but for whatever reason it just doesn't here. i feel no attachment to trista, thors, or the students despite spending a good amount of an 80 hour game with them. it does not improve next game

This is a really good VN. It has super tense atmosphere and very likable characters from start to finish, and the ending had me on the edge of my seat for a solid 2 hours. Unlike future games in the series this game never feels like it gets too big for its own good, which is also great.

This entire game is carried by Komaeda. I dislike half of the cast and only like about 3 characters total, counting him. Komaeda is a very cool character but this game uses him as a crutch for its dramatic tension. Unlike DR1, there's no real "beat the mastermind" thing going on behind the scenes. You're just existing until either Monokuma or Komaeda stirs enough shit for someone to get killed. There's no agency. The ending is a cool twist but the protag yelling the same words at an AI until he wins isn't a very satisfying ending, especially considering that it essentially means the entire plot of DR2 feels like it was meaningless from the beginning.
The only reason this isn't a 0 is because Komaeda is in the game and 2-5 is the best case in the entire series

This has incredibly strong atmosphere, but that's not all. While about 1/3 of the cast is shit, the rest is really likable. I also really love the switch from a crime solving game to a beat the mastermind game right around case 4, and the way that the game presents this change to you in an interesting and natural seeming way that sets it apart from a lot of other games of this genre.
