My favorite Videogame characters

An idea brought up by Phantasm, on this list I focus on talking why I love these characters both heroes and villains.

For all the characters added in the Remake Trilogy, Roche has to be the one that stands out the most to me, I can almost picture how in the writing room they were concocting the dumbest guy ever created for a work of fiction that somehow is still extremely cool, I mean, everytime he showed up to do one of his wacky bike tricks I couldn't help but start laughing, slapping my knee and saying "oh this guy this fucking guy lmao"
I think we all should strive to be like Ichiban Kasuga, a man that proves that it's never too late to start living the best of your life, no matter the awful shit that might happen to you, as long as you can find the courage to keep moving forward.
Sir Daniel Fortesque is a goofy skeleton man with a big (metaphorical) heart on a mission to prove that he isn't a fraud and sometimes he just acts like he's the most normal guy in the room, specially compared to everyone else in the Hall of Heroes
Clive Rosfield's Journey is just like mine, minus the overwhelmingly shitty life he had for over 13 years, but you get the point haha

I also love Jill Warrick a lot for being the strong emotional support that helps Clive keep going, while having a chance to face her own demons after being encouraged by him
[SPOILERS]

The Prisoner's only crime was to think for a brief moment that what his kin were doing might not be the best outcome for anyone, while his imprisonment is tragic and brutal, I feel comfort knowing that it's because of him that all the events of Outer Wilds are pretty much allowed to happen. Without him finding the Eye of the Universe, would have likely never been possible, and the whole cosmos would have been doomed because of it. If anyone deserves to be at the end of time playing a song around the Campfire, it's him
King Minos only wanted to build a refuge for his people in the Lust layer, to escape the harsh environment of those who were punished for showing affection to others. If anything, his death proves how crooked Heaven and the Angels enforcing the will of God are, if only he could have defeated V1 once his Prime Soul escaped...
Kazan Yamaoka (The Oni) was such a mean fucking bastard who was so thin-skinned at the idea of anyone not following his vision of what a Samurai truly is, that made him go in a crazy rampage across all Japan trying to slay anyone that, in his eyes, was a fake samurai. However, I can't help but be shocked at the fact that the guy managed to battle entire towns that rebelled against him before finally being taken down. Literally, a man too angry to die.

And the Entity captured this rage very well into turning him into an ogre like monster with a scary mask, and even scarier strength that translates well into his gameplay
Kratos, I mean, come on now, I can't help but be impressed at how this man went from being an unstoppable killing machine. To being there to learn how to be kind and caring from his kid as much as he learns how to not repeat the same mistakes he did.

I also liked the portrayal of Thor as this counterpart of Kratos that was so emotionally crippled, for so long he had done Odin's bidding that the only thing that was left for him was just harming others
I simply think Fallout hasn't had a villain this fantastic since The Master and maybe Caesar
I also think listening to Joshua Graham's speech on how he survived being burned alive is something that sticks to you and pretty much changes your brain chemistry
Have you ever heard Starscourge Radahn's theme and realized on the second phase, how meaningful of a figure he was to his comrade in arms? Listen to them sing, they are saying his farewells to him, to man whose mind has become so rotten he can't even think anymore
Kass is a funny musical macaw man and I like macaws and music : )
You might have a lot to say about Isshin, but the moment you defeat him in combat is the moment you realized you fought a warrior without equal and that he enjoyed every second of it, did you?
I genuinely think Samus is one of the coolest characters ever made, doesn't speak, gets straight to the point, and everything about her demeanor screams "Fearless" and even when faced against unsurpassable odds in Metroid Dread, she rises to the ocassion
DID SOMEONE JUST PAGE THE KING OF AWESOME?

- Bowser
If you ever want to write an extremely charismatic villain, you have to take notes from Hades. Not a single line of dialogue from him is boring or awful, he is an enjoyable character from the moment he appears being smug and overconfident, to the moment of his defeat where he is absolutely pissed off
Doomguy. We all know why
I trust no one that says that Cloud is a generic anime edgelord (even though it has been a while since I saw anyone say that unironically), if anything, Cloud is a parody of that trope, and his character arc proves it, he might pretend to be tough and cool all he wants, but that doesnt take away from the fact that he is an absolute dork that has gone through probably the worst experiences you can have in life.

I also don't trust people that say that Zack is better than him, come on now folks, two legends CAN coexist.
"THE HORSE HAS A SWORD NOW, WHY THEY GAVE THE HORSE A SWORD???"
I remember screaming to my brother the first time I saw Ludwig's phase 2 cutscene. My brother replied with "He is not just a Horse anymore, he is LUDWIG" and that is enough to describe the whole character, this broken man gets one final chance to fight to the death with the little glimpse of humanity he managed to latch into and goes out with an absolute bang.
[SPOILERS]

Takuto Maruki did nothing wrong
In the world, there are two types of people, those who haven't seen Emet-Selch's charm and wit displayed in his dialogue, and those who have, and the latter usually get their brain chemistry all scrambled because of it.
