Nice presentation, fun enough to start. I have zero interest in continuing after getting my first relic. I think I need something pulling me through games like these. Feels like an empty meal, nothing to chew on.

Still controls well, but jesus this fucking writing.

Spent the last ten minutes after shutting the game down thinking about why this doesn't work for me when something like Inside very much does.

The puzzles? Maybe. Inside's in media res thing was also compelling, though Planet of Lana doesn't spend too much time before its inciting incident.

Man, I don't know. I guess there's not just 1 line between "this is alright" and "damn, alright". It's multiple lines, and identifying the threshold is murky at best.

Level design is immediately sensible. Clearly see experienced hands here. It's just not great to look at. I've played so many maps that take an immense risk with the visual presentation of Quake and I honestly can't go back.

Interesting, but not quite for me. Visual novels have an unfortunately high bar to clear for me to get engaged.

PC ports were good for a second there

shader compilation stutter is the bane of my existence. game seems alright otherwise

16

this is some of the most stilted writing I've seen in years

not that I was expecting much after the first game, but this shit is so bland and ineffectual that it's actively putting me off

for some reason this game also reminds me of when someone at Ubisoft said women are too difficult to animate

Didn't grab me. Shooting especially feels profoundly mediocre.
Cute! If you enjoy this type of gameplay, I could see this being an incredible experience.

But I don't, really.

hey, uh, Quake 2 maybe isn't so good? raytracing shit aside, these guns look and feel incredibly bad. I never played it back in the day, but... think I'll stick to Quake

This seems good. Not in the mood for it right now, but I'm likely to come back later.
Deeply impressive as a project. I'm just slowly learning that I love short Quake levels, and mostly tolerate anything longer than 15-20 minutes. So I might chip at this over time, but the first level (I played) was exhausting.

aggressively fine. I guess the style is interesting, but everything that's actually happening, moment to moment, feels... bland? not sure, just have no interest in continuing after the first level
