Honestly for as much as the genre shift leads to some not-great elements early on this is absolutely a 4.5 for that ending along like GODDAMN (actually teared up)

did basically everything else including Artorias of the Abyss, except for Gwyndolin but I tried and, I dunno if this is a bug but it kept putting me back at the unusable-since-I-darkened-Anor-Londo first bonfire of the level and I did not want to go through those rafters or book it to the Duke's Archives every time I died (and he hit HARD) so I'd say he wins but I also got the Age of Dark ending so he has to stand around and watch his inherited empire crumble so really I still beat him if you think about it

also gonna log that I tried this with some friends, good outlet for us being goofy

ok yeah this still absolutely rules even if I still have a slight preference for the original now

yeah this is fun as hell to actually play I just wish Volition had the time to put in actual missions

Did the DLCs before finishing the main story.

Main game's still GOATed as hell, Enter the Dominatrix is a neat look at what this game's earlier incarnation as SR3 DLC is even if I'm not super big on that second mission mechanically and How the Saints Save Christmas, while bordering on Gat Out of Hell's halfway being what people who don't like this game claim what this game is, is really dang cute.

OK I guess that wasn't really a post-game and more of just a final third. And jfc that final dungeon swings between actually kinda simple-ish challenges to Pikmin 2 levels of pure evil (THAT DAMN EMPRESS BULBAX ROOM).

If I do end up committing to this I'm gonna treat it as something I just kinda chip away at throughout 2024/2025 because HowLongToBeat has the average main story completion time as fucking 120 hours but I'm gonna try to put in several hours for these first couple of sessions before starting another game.

My roommate introduced me to the pinnacle of gaming today. Climb ladders at intense speeds, fight hoardes of Quattro Bajeenas (who are definitely not Char Aznable), get decimated by touching a robot for a single second, listen to the masterful soundtrack where most of what you're going to hear is the same song with a woman saying the word Terminator at various pitches, wield a grenade launcher-looking gun where the ammo can change trajectory in mid-air by aiming in a different direction. A true gesamtkunstwerk for the ages.

Seeing The End of Evangelion in a theater and going through the whole Arsenal Gear section is a hell of a double-feature in a single afternoon/evening lol

ok well this happened like 7 minutes after March 15 started, but making a new entry since yesterday's was getting big anyway lol: done with the Fires of Raven route as well, just shotgunned the whole thing yesterday afternoon/evening and yeah this game fucking rules even if it took me like halfway into this to realize I was using the lock-on completely wrong the whole time hjkfdhjklxfhjgklf

Played the The Trouble With Clones DLC.

which took me like less than an hour so not the biggest session ever to close this replay with but still worth noting lmao

That one weird stealth section aside the final couple of areas were pretty dang fun at least, couldn't be bothered to 100% this to get the true ending but yeah I like this in the end even if I have some big issues with it

Finished Claire A and starting Leon B (and then finished Leon B in like half the time it took me to play through Claire A lol)
